I cannot believe we are back to square one, with NHS England backing an experimental trial of puberty blockers on healthy, vulnerable children, ignoring the damage already done.

The No1 rule of medicine is "do no harm".
This is activist ideology masquerading as research.

I'm urging MPs of all parties to sign this letter from me and Shadow Health Secretary Stuart Andrew for Daventry, calling for Wes Streeting to step in and stop this trial before more damage is done to children who are too young to understand what they are doing to themselves.

My own teen's school group of friends had 5 out of 7 of them with transgender identities.

The person I originally responded to claimed 60%, happy for you to pick that up with them as well.

Your child's friends are either atypical or, if they are representative of the school, 70% of pupils are trans.

Based on school runs, I think one of these scenarios is much more likely than the other.

It's 76 children. 36 whose families claim they are trans, and the rest are gender fluid.

If you google rapid onset gender dysphoria, your find all the necessary links.

I did not say they set any standard, they are atypical. However, I have come across this more than this one instance. It is an issue because there are people on this thread who deny the power of social influence on children.

I can imagine that some schools may have a larger number of students than some people expect to see.

Got it. It looked like the screenshot was of US gender clinics, which had gone from one or two to is estimated to be about 300 supplying medical intervention for gender issues.

No. They were not winding me up. I didn't even know half of them so why would they be doing that?

At least two of them that I do know were seeking treatment.

Just a reminder.

If posters are going to deny sterility, they do need to be specific about which sex they are referring to.

In the year of the last census there were 10 girls who identified as trans in my daughter’s year group at school (that I know of - there may have been more). This was over 11% of the girls in the year group.

Obviously this is anecdotal but it seems pretty consistent with wider anecdotal evidence and with Cass’ observation of the “school to clinic pipeline”

in the meantime, methodological issues with the phrasing of the question around trans identities makes the census numbers unreliable.

The school isn’t. I am. I knew of 10 girls with trans identities in the year group. That’s why I said that there may be more I was not aware of

It wasn't long ago that GIRES recommended holding a full assembly every time a kid came out as trans and giving them a cake to celebrate.
