'SNP ministers are to fight in court to defend the right of biologically male criminals who identify as women to serve sentences in female jails.
A KC representing the Scottish government told a judge at the Court of Session in Edinburgh on Wednesday that self-ID policies in jails will remain a “live issue” in a new legal case, suggesting ministers are determined to keep them in place'

'Gerry Moynihan KC, representing the Scottish government, confirmed that controversial schools guidance, which allowed trans girls into female facilities and for biological boys to compete in female sports, had been “withdrawn”.

However, he confirmed that the Scottish government did not plan to back down on its prisons policy, which was rewritten after <a class="break-all" href="https://archive.ph/o/Dw1Wl/www.thetimes.com/uk/law/article/nicola-sturgeon-trans-women-isla-bryson-77g8zzbll" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">the Isla Bryson scandal but still allows male-born criminals to serve sentences in women’s jails if they say they identify as female.'.

'For Women Scotland had wanted their bid to have the schools and prisons policies “reduced”, meaning quashed by the courts, to be conducted under an “ordinary” procedure, which it was hoped would be quicker, cheaper and more straightforward than a judicial review.
However, Moynihan successfully argued that the case should instead proceed under the more complex route, a move likely to lead to increased costs for taxpayers'
...
'A timetable will be set in the coming weeks with a substantive hearing to decide matters expected to last two days.'

SNP court battle to allow trans women in female prisons

The Scottish government refuses to back down on its jails policy and has secured a review in the Court of Session, meaning a longer legal battle over the issue

Oh, fuck off, Alan.

Yeah, that was my reaction too.
I do think though that this is probably a bit how JS thinks and sees this issue as well, it's all part of the big evil English ploy to oppress Scotland.

Oh, fuck off, Alan.

Lol.
That seems to be the same reaction as most of the commentators.
A universal view 😂

“opportunities to participate in activities and programmes taking place in the estate of the individual’s affirmed gender”. A kind of play-date for pretenders.

I liked this bit:
"You might think Labour in London would learn some lessons from the SNP in Edinburgh but their reluctance to do so is further evidence of the extent to which gender woo-woo has buried itself deep in both our governing parties. It is a kind of woodworm for the brain."

"...A single-sex space that is open to people of both sexes ceases to be a single-sex space."

Simple enough for even a simpleton to get, it says a lot that our elected leaders don't get it, what grade of intelligence is there below simpleton I wonder.

NO MALES IN FEMALE GAOLS. 🤬

Me neither.
Some women really hate women, don't they.

…prey on female socialisation to be kind and get around our boundaries in this way, making the man an object of sympathy and tricking women embraced him as a “sisters”.

From the Gender Critical blog on James Morton - if that is a correctly attributed quote, then I just cannot get over how someone would deliberately weaponise female kindness to force men into women’s prison estates. Just how lacking in any kind of empathy do you have to be to argue this?!

I suggested something similar before @Teathecolourofcreosote
John Swinney is also on record of saying that even if he had undeniable evidence that Scotland would be considerably worse of following independence he would still go ahead with it so maybe he simply can't let something go once he latched onto it.

Autistic rigid thinking and hyperfocus?

Witness the 'oh poor disabled people we mustn't take their accessible toilet spaces' that has been seen and seized upon and repeated by activists, not because of any actual care or interest for those disabled people, but because it furthers the agenda of getting men into women's toilets.

This is not a healthy movement raised by healthy minds and typical social skills, as evidenced by things like saying to lesbians 'learn to cope' with providing men with sex, and 'reframe your trauma' to women who cannot be in a refuge with men. Narcissism is one of the high frequency identified issues. A read through Lundy Bancroft's 'why does he do that' also rings an awful lot of bells.

That’s why this action seems so bizarre. It’s so simple. I presume they’re not arguing that they want to make all prisons mixed sex, in which case they are going to lose this case (presuming FWS don’t run out of money first, which may be what the Scottish Government are counting on)

Bankrupting FWS is the only motivation I can see for this.

A woman weaponised female kindness to harm women. James Morton is a woman.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that her internalised misogyny is this strong. She literally poisoned herself with testosterone to attempt to escape her own womanhood.

RoostingHens · 19/11/2025 11:50

deliberately weaponise female kindness

Isn’t that the whole point of socialising females to ‘be kind’?

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 26/11/2025 14:07

I wish the Times would just write "some men" in the headline.
