Has banned women and girls over the age of 12 from participating. Thoughts?

You do realise that this is the FWR board? Did you also stumble in here unwittingly? How many women of the FWR board do you think are going to be ok with the misogyny of the Catholic Church?
Have you got any other stunning gotchas?

Yeah, the desperate gotchas and whataboutery are all some people have got.

You are male because every time you have referred to women it has been 'them' or 'you'. Never 'us'.

It is evident in every word of your posts.

Them i,e muslim women.

canchewcashew · 12/10/2025 15:27

Well, I wouldn't have been interested anyway, so it wouldn't affect me one way or the other (except that I'd be disgusted with anyone I knew who participated and encouraged it... not that I can think of anyone who would).

WeeGeeBored · 12/10/2025 15:28

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 12/10/2025 15:26

Exactly-really not the place to be trying to use the Catholic Church as a counter argument! Although tbf, except to a very limited area men and women in the Catholic Church are treated equally and can pray together, and women can take part in charity events on the same basis as men. They don’t make 14 year olds stay at home incase adult men find them sexually attractive

Many like me only read what is trending which is where this appeared. I didn’t seek it out.

“Girls operating”

Are you saying these girls deserve to be raped? Or have I read this wrong. I hope I’ve read it wrong.

No, of course not. I’m not talking about raping. I’m talking about teenage girls operating in a classroom.

Humdingerydoo · 12/10/2025 15:29

WeeGeeBored · 12/10/2025 14:38

Something tells me that the discriminatory ignorance that this board has quickly descended to is exactly what that report wanted to achieve. And now a community event will probably be besieged by ignorant outside elements pretending to be protecting brown women they really couldn’t give a shit about.

I didn't realise all Muslim women were brown.

Stop trying to make this into a racism thing. It's not.

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 12/10/2025 15:29

WeeGeeBored · 12/10/2025 15:21

There is a difference between a single sex event and one that “bans” women. And yes, I know that children are running too but that still does not necessarily mean that women are banned. I personally would need more information than has currently been given before I pass judgement. I would also like to know what charity they are running for as that might be enlightening.

The website states multiple Muslim charities, local and international, benefit . What ‘enlightenment’ would having their names provide for you?

But whilst you’re answering, maybe answer this, the other member of the tag team seems to be avoiding it.

Please explain why you think this particular run can be open to (and this is their words, from their website):

Open to everyone: runners, walkers, and children (girls under 12 and boys of any age)

Why girls under 12 but boys can be any age?
Explain , clearly, what you think the difference is between those two groups and why girls are only girls if they are under 12 but boys are boys even if they are over 12.

It was in response to a poster who thinks everything's coming up roses in Tower Hamlets.

Everything isn't all rosey but the people that actually live there tend to get along and not have many problems with eachother at all.

Onmytod24 · 12/10/2025 15:30

Well, the race is over. It’s raised over £100,000 for a whole range of charities. Is supported by London Marathon amongst other organisations many other organisations you know it’s a dog whistle post don’t fall for it.

Thatladdo · 12/10/2025 15:30

The thin end of the wedge, you had better start to getting used to this kind of thing.
😑

Very sisterly.

Is anyone else willing to divulge rather than play games? I don’t recall anyone saying. Not even the op.

What exactly do you mean by “operating”?

PreciousTatas · 12/10/2025 15:32

Hadmysay · 12/10/2025 15:14

😂 Most won't be killed.
Do you know how extremely rare it is for Muslim women to be killed for having struggles with her Islamic faith

Oh how 'reassuring' for those in the UK. Don't worry ladies, it's RARE!

I know what the punishment was in my homeland. Death. In other more permissive Islamic states, confiscation of property or prison if lucky.

And you still think that women stay shackled to an ideology since birth because they 'love' it?

Hadmysay · 12/10/2025 15:32

Onmytod24 · 12/10/2025 14:57

This charity event has been going on for years and years. interesting that this is the year that people have chosen to put it in the daily mail mumsnet etc etc in a shock, horror kind of way

Edited

Very interesting isn't it.
The year are having the anti muslim prostets, story after story after story from gb news and the mail about muslims, conversations about cousin marriage etc this now pops us.

MyHeartyCoralSnail · 12/10/2025 15:32

Oh and how nice of them to say women are welcome to come to a public park! It’s almost insinuating they have some kind of power to stop women coming to the park! Maybe in their minds they do?

Or are the women absolutely petrified and wouldn’t dare do anything considered to be stepping out of line?

TheCrenchinglyMcQuaffenBrothers · 12/10/2025 15:33

Onmytod24 · 12/10/2025 15:19

Have you ever seen (some) teenage girls operating when there’s a young young male teacher?

Are you also confused as to whether teenage girls at school are children or not, and that the male teachers, whatever their age, are adult males, in a position of authority, responsibility and also power over said children? And in addition, have you ever heard of safeguarding?

So?
When ARE we allowed to talk about these issues?

Hadmysay · 12/10/2025 15:35

PreciousTatas · 12/10/2025 15:02

Fucking hell.

'Not a good look'. Raping and abusing children is merely 'not a good look'.

Go on. Extrapolate. Why would it 'never' happen the other way around?

I know what you want to say. But will you have the balls to say it?

When I said not a good look I meant it doesn't look good on the muslim community even though we know 99 percent of them are not like this and would never rape young white girls.

Hadmysay · 12/10/2025 14:34

What are these basic rights.
I would argue there are far more muslim women that have basic rights than the ones that don't.
Remember not every muslim country is afghanistan

Genuine question, are there any Muslim countries where women have equal rights in law to men? Rights to education, property, bodily autonomy, freedom of movement?
