Inside the DHSC’s secret courtship of anti-trans lobby groups

It's all coming out in the wash.

https://tacc.org.uk/2025/10/03/inside-the-dhscs-secret-courtship-of-anti-trans-lobby-groups/

Trans rights in the UK are the worst in western Europe and behind progressive utopias such as Turkey and Romania*..and we're now seeing why. We would not allow the KKK to be 'key stakeholders' when it comes to the rights of black people, yet this government appears to think that it's appropriate to have unqualified anti-trans activists and trans-eliminationists involved when it comes to trans people and trans youth.

This is utterly shameful though not entirely surprising from a government that has pandered to the far right on many occasions.

We're trans people, we take measures to change sex, obviously.

Trans people in the UK have fewer rights than any other country in western Europe, it's pretty dire and as a result some trans people (including some of my friends =( ) have fled the UK

https://rainbowmap.ilga-europe.org/categories/legal-gender-recognition/

But you haven’t changed your sex. The clue is in the name - transgender.

So you change your gender (whatever that means) but your sex remains the important factor for various purposes, like spaces and words. You never had the right to use opposite sex provisions, you still don’t and have lost nothing. HTH.

Thanks for attempting to answer my question, but you didn't.

You compared trans rights here to those in other countries, whereas I asked you to compare to other people in the UK of the same sex.

You also mentioned 'changing sex' which I think is clear isn't actually possible, whatever you were 'sold' in the past.

Do you want to have another try?

(I feel sorry for the old fashioned transsexuals who were relatively quietly going about their own business for years before the TRAs over-reached so much they got caught in the crossfire. Perhaps the transsexuals should have spoken up against the TRAs and the overreach.)

Nooo!L. Now I’ve got the song in my head !!!

That was because someone said 'Tragedy'.
I already had 'Rhythm is a Dancer' in my head when someone posted 'Nature is a transphobe' [by Snap, in case you're racking your brains..]

Actually it works quite well:
Rhythm is a dancer
Nature is a transphobe
It's a soul's companion
People feel it everywhere
Lift your hands and voices
Free your mind and join us
You can feel it in the air
Smile

For the TRA's

Tragedy
When the law's been confirmed and you can't obfuscate,
It's tragedy
When as much as you stamp, you can't make us do shit
It's hard to bear
That women won't wheesht and you can't make us share
Duh dun dah.

(Having a wee dance moment in my kitchen Steps style)

The Bee Gees please !!

Absolutely.

H from Steps would have conniptions at those lyrics. He's a 24 carat 6 cylinder wazzock genderist.

Waitwhat23 · 05/10/2025 09:47

Nope. I stand by my Steps dance moves.

And if the lyrics would piss off H, so much the better.

SinnerBoy · 05/10/2025 09:52

I was blocked by H from Steps on Twatter on my first day, without even posting anything!

He certainly is a cast iron, copper bottomed, gold plated, weapons grade trans zealot.

It is beyond insulting, and borderline racist, to liken women ensuring their rights as an oppressed group discussing the impact of things like self ID on those rights, to the KKK being consulted on race policy regarding an oppressed group.

What an extraordinarily ignorant and offensive comment to make. The oppression and intimidation, sometimes resulting in violent death, of ethnic minorities is not your pain with which to make a spurious point based on false equivalency. Have a word with yourself OP.

One might say the op is having a Pikachu moment of their own, if one was so inclined.

There is nothing, absolutely nothing, that the trans lobby won’t appropriate.

They also like to weaponise female infertility "aha so if being female is about production of gametes and childbirth you're saying that infertile women aren't proper women eh???eh?"

as an infertile woman no GC feminist has ever said that to me but plenty of TRA have used it to suggest I'm not a woman

with which of course they can fuck off!

I used to find the gobsmackingly appalling use of actual real people's suffering and these horrific historic events as part of infantile footstamping really quite upsetting. But it's so frequent and so very overdone that I'm down to weary disgust.

It's not like any of them have the faintest idea what they're talking about when they do it, or care. Other people's lives aren't a part of the Planet of Me, it's just words and drama to be thrown around in the cause of 'do what I say' and 'me want it'.

The legal position is that
Trans people have:

  1. Exactly the same rights as every other human being in the UK
AND
  1. The 'extra' rights against discrimination on the basis of gender reassignment under the Equality Act.
To be clear, trans-identified people are not lacking any rights that anyone else has. Saying otherwise is factually incorrect.
Ereshkigalangcleg · 05/10/2025 12:08

We've asked and asked and asked what rights trans people don't have in the UK and answer comes there none.

But sex can't be changed, Bee. It's binary, dimorphic and immutable. The most you can do is to change your gender presentation and where sex-based rights like single-sex spaces, services and sports are concerned, biology trumps gender every time.

What trans people do have are the same civil rights as the rest of the population, no more and no less.

timesublimelysilencesthewhys · 05/10/2025 12:27

To be fair, bee has said that their issue is men who want to be seen as women have more rights in other countries than they do here.

What bee means is that women in other countries do not have single sex protections as they do here. In bees mind, taking away womens rights to single sex spaces is giving men who want to be women equal rights.

Just as in bees mind, tucking while posing in front of a mirror is taking 'measures to change sex'.

NotAtMyAge · 05/10/2025 12:29

BeeSourianteAgain · 05/10/2025 00:26

It's sad that the use of slurs and acceptance of obvious transphobia means that trans people don't get to participate in this forum

I've read the transphobia glossary and basically it declares that everything is transphobic other than total affirmation and capitulation to trans demands. Since that is never going to happen, you'll just have to resign yourselves to living in a country where you have as many civil rights as everyone else, but no more. If you don't like it you are of course to free to move to any country which will accept you.
