Shon does not understand why the 'trans rights' movement got pushback.

Well there’s only one thing to say to Shon. “Enjoy your erasure.” Couldn’t have happened to a nicer chap. 🤭🤭

SirEctor · 19/09/2025 20:41

First comment nails it.

Enjoy it, Shon, you smug sneering misogynist.

JazzyJelly · 19/09/2025 20:44

I have very little sympathy for a man who calls women 'the oppressor class'. The whole article read like a tantrum.

DabOfPistachio · 19/09/2025 20:49

Yeah, not much sympathy here either. Faye is quite clear that he's done well out of this all. He's financially secure and mostly seems sad that trans women are no longer making big money on speaking engagements and DEI.
I'll save my sympathies for the women who have lost their jobs for telling men no and the young people subjected to irreversible physical damage from the policies Faye and his cronies have pushed.

Helleofabore · 19/09/2025 20:50

Gosh.

Enjoy your erasure!!!

Wasn’t that the catchphrase?

The thing is we all knew this would be a blip in history. We didn't know how long it would take, but ultimately you can't build rights on untruths.

The truth will out. Shon's lucky to have made his cash in the golden years and had his fun telling women they didn't really exist as a material category of human being, but we all have to come back down to earth now, don't we.

Helleofabore · 19/09/2025 20:55

Never thought I would see a paragraph like this.

The middle-class trans micro-economy that boomed in the 2010s: Pride month corporate sponsorship, jobs at LGBT charities, DEI talks and panels, diversity modelling and ad campaigns, progressive theatre, educational books about being trans etc, which some of us used to make a living, has gone. A friend and I used to riff on the old Susan Stryker joke that as a trans woman you must commodify yourself one way or another: it’s either escorting or the diversity and inclusion panel.

Blimey. In plain sight. So… not just ideological but apparently lucrative too.

WallaceinAnderland · 19/09/2025 21:06

Is 'transexual' the preferred term to use now?

Mermoose · 19/09/2025 21:07

Transgenderism was such a wild lie, and so obviously incompatible with the rights of other people. That governments, NGOs, health professionals actively supported and promoted it must have seemed like a brilliant crazy dream to some of the people who brought that fake consensus about.
I don't have much sympathy for Faye, he was too happy to rub women's faces in it when things were going his way. And still people are being punished in various ways for pointing out the Emperor is male.
I do feel sorry for kids and vulnerable people who were sold that lie and made decisions based on promises that cannot be fulfilled. As surreal as it's been that the world went mad and said men were women, it must also be surreal to base your life on that lie and for it suddenly to disappear.

Jesus, to hear the words “it’s over” from his mouth is glorious beyond belief!

MyAmpleSheep · 19/09/2025 21:11

I read that article, and all I remember is "me, me, me, me, and me. And - me."

SidewaysOtter · 19/09/2025 21:17

Translation: the grift is over and I don't like it. The nasty wims made sure that reality reasserted itself and I DON'T LIKE IT.

CliantheLang · 19/09/2025 21:17

Faye's only sorry the grift is coming to an end. He doesn't care about the trail of maimed bodies he's left in his wake.

class based analysis eh? eh?

I'd be interested to know what alternative occupation he has trained for

murasaki · 19/09/2025 21:22

Wasn't it him who wrote about shopping for underwear and enjoying making women staff feel uncomfortable?

eatfigs · 19/09/2025 21:23

I do think that, in the UK context, the all-encompassing focus on the Gender Recognition Act reform from 2017 to 2020 was a grave mistake.

I think he can now see clearly where it all started to go downhill for his activist movement. He and many other men like him were taken by surprise at the tenacity and determination and wisdom and collaboration of so many women to oppose this. Much of it based here on Mumsnet of course!

In the UK, we – transsexuals - are about to become significantly less employable as a class. Especially trans women. The segregation law and reduced access to medical care have rendered us ‘undesirables’ and this will affect how we make money to survive.

I think he's right to be worried about this. It's about to swing way too far in the other direction. Being unemployable and actively discriminated against in society is not a good place to be.

TheKeatingFive · 19/09/2025 21:24

All about him and his paycheck. Well, there's a surprise.

No that was an anon account. He did used to write for the Guardian though.
