MN has made me pink and I am outraged at the stereotyping!

I feel that I have been taken over by aliens.

All my posts are now pink.

And OP posts are now the blue that used to be the colour on MNHQ posts.

Confused

I'm more bemused than outraged; give me the green OP posts over the blue any day of the week. The blue is just awful.

MissKomodoDragonsBrunch · 18/09/2025 17:56

Whose idea was it to use pale blue and pale pink - I mean it’s not like we see those colours on flags and signs all the time, is it? Feels like a bit of a ‘fuck you’ in FWR, to be honest….

lcakethereforeIam · 18/09/2025 18:03

I've gone pink, sorry, magenta too. I hate it. I liked the suffragette colours and yes, baby blue and pink! Of all the colours that could have been chosen!

IwantToRetire · 18/09/2025 18:10

Where was the consultation?

Where was the warning notice?

Am I still who I am, or am I now a socially conforming pink entity.

Shock

The pastel colours are awful. You can change the colours for both your own posts and the OP's in Settings.

IwantToRetire · 18/09/2025 18:11

@MNHQ please give us back our identities!

The new colours are shit! I was purple before and OP posts orange.... great to see when fast scrolling through a thread

IwantToRetire · 18/09/2025 18:15

I am wondering if this isn't some sort of software upgrade hitch.

In the accounts settings you can chose from a limited range of colours, but it is as thought the colours have all been bleached.

So magenta (not quite lavender) is now this baby pink, and the green is now so pale it doesn't even show!

Yes, but they are all very wishy-washy, no strong colours now. I want my lovely lavender and green back.

And why oh why oh why™️ are there great big labels 'original, poster' and 'my posts' on posts, as well as the colour changes?

The first thing I did was go to the display option in settings, but I couldn't see an option to change the colours. Maybe it's because I'm not on Premium.🤔

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/09/2025 18:19

No, it's there. I'm not on Premium. Settings > Talk Settings, scroll down a bit, there it is. I'm on the website, not the App.

It is there, but sadly the choice of colours have all been bleached out.

Go to Talk Settings in Account.

You'd think that a forum that has a turnover of £8 million pounds a year could introduce changes in a better way, if they are even necessary!

Or offer more choice. Maybe some like being pale blue or pale pink, but some like deeper colours.

Why the need to regulate us to feeling like its the end of a long day and just feel washed out.

pink? mine is more neon peach. not pink

Only if the person reading them has kept the new default of blue, which used to be used only for posts by Mumsnet staff. I used to have green for the OP and purple for my own posts which were clear, vivid enough and easy to see. Now the colour choices on offer are so washed out as to be almost indistinguishable. Horrible.

AllrightNowBaby · 18/09/2025 18:47

I’m more of a salmon colour 🤮

Snap. Suffragette settings.

Now I am in some Barbie nightmare.

Revolting, isn't it?

SirBasil · 18/09/2025 19:04

they have a thread going in Site Stuff. Mostly complaints.

MistyGreenAndBlue · 18/09/2025 19:11

I'm in dark mode. I now have no colours at all. Just a bright Barbie pink sign on OP and my own posts. Definitely NOT an improvement

Dominoodles · 18/09/2025 19:15

I love it. The colors are so cute and pastel

I would 100% wear a fifties poodle skirt in these colors
