I feel that I have been taken over by aliens.

All my posts are now pink.

And OP posts are now the blue that used to be the colour on MNHQ posts.

Confused
OP posts:
Pudmyboy · 19/09/2025 01:55

(well, not really green more washed out, cabbage-water but better than the pink and blue, for me)

hholiday · 19/09/2025 06:08

BoreOfWhabylon · 18/09/2025 18:16

Yes, but they are all very wishy-washy, no strong colours now. I want my lovely lavender and green back.

And why oh why oh why™️ are there great big labels 'original, poster' and 'my posts' on posts, as well as the colour changes?

Edited

In case we don’t know what we’ve posted? 😂 admittedly, small hours, glass of wine, I sometimes surprise myself!

I do not like change. So there.

I don't mind a change for the better, but this isn't one.

CaptainMyCaptain · 19/09/2025 09:18

Of all the things in the world to be offended by this barely features. People need to get a grip.

Igmum · 19/09/2025 09:33

I had no idea you could change from the default and now it seems that ALL of FWR have been sufragetting their way through chats and NOBODY TOLD ME <sulks>. And now it’s gone <double sulks>.

MNHQ please bring it back so I can see what it was like.

Petitchat · 19/09/2025 10:08

What about mumsnetters with autism who don't like sudden change without warning?

What about those people MNHQ?

Thelnebriati · 19/09/2025 10:09

I dislike royal blue. I never wear it, I disliked it when it was plastered all over my Windows desktop and I still dislike it now it now.
The new colour scheme also happens to be pink, blue and white, and my old preference of green, purple and white is mysteriously no longer available.

Petitchat · 19/09/2025 10:11

It also says "My posts" now at the top, in a kinda purple/ burgundy.

Irritating!!

Iamnotalemming · 19/09/2025 10:21

@MNHQ I really really don't like the new colour scheme, and miss the suffragette colours immensely. Please can you add those colours back to the options in settings so that normal service is resumed?

Also, how reductive is pink and blue as the standard colour settings in a website for women. FFS.

ExquisiteSocialSkills · 19/09/2025 10:32

Can we have the old colours back please?

Shortshriftandlethal · 19/09/2025 10:36

I'm quite liking it. I'd never been into pink before, but this summer I developed an unwavering taste for wearing combinations of pink and blue.

NotBadConsidering · 19/09/2025 10:42

The colours are awful, but the fact posts can be deleted and no one can have any idea who it was is a massive concern. TRA trolls can plop and get deleted and we wouldn’t know if they were continuing to post on threads.

Sorry - I’m (genuinely) confused - how can posts be deleted? I thought only MNHQ could do that, and it is a huge difference if anyone can do so. It changes the whole dynamic and authenticity of the forum.

No, MNHQ are the only ones who can delete posts. But read my sentence in full: posts can be deleted and no one can have any idea who it was. They now look like this:

MN has made me pink and I am outraged at the stereotyping!

Where was the consultation?

Where was the warning notice?

Am I still who I am, or am I now a socially conforming pink entity.

Shock

poss some1 has said this to you? but your posts appear as blue on my screen…

in some historic times, pink was apparently used for males, I’ve been told??!

You mean people with eye conditions, migraine susceptibility &/or good taste?

PachacutisBadAuntie · 19/09/2025 13:29

The rubbish colours, and the hiding of deleted posters, and the endangering of DV victims, is making me wonder if Mumsnet has been hacked by trans Reddit...

Beeinalily · 19/09/2025 13:32

I'm pink on my phone and blue on my tablet, so I don't really know what they're trying to say there!

What do you mean about endangering DV victims, because of hacking?

ifIwerenotanandroid · 19/09/2025 13:46

Beeinalily · 19/09/2025 13:34

No, the big red buttons identifying every one of a user's own posts, which serve no purpose in 'light'/standard mode & can't be turned off. If an abusive partner was looking over his victim's shoulder while she looked at the site, or used her computer/phone when she'd left herself logged in, he could immediately see what she'd written & know that it was her. She could then be in danger because of what she'd written.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 19/09/2025 13:59

Not just DV victims. There are some posts which could cause considerable social or work difficulty for an OP if someone else saw them on the OP's screen helpfully labelled My Posts.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 19/09/2025 14:02

Agreed, Gaspode.

Iamnotalemming · 19/09/2025 14:04

What's the rationale behind not seeing the username of a reported post? It's quite useful to see, particularly if a frequent offender, as I may choose not to engage with them!

CassOle · 19/09/2025 16:02

I've switched to 'dark mode' as I wasn't too keen on the updated 'light mode', and I think I prefer it now. I should have switched to 'dark mode' sooner.
