Oh good. So we’re agreed that we do know what approach Anne Health clinicians use?

And when you accused me of not knowing you were wrong. And when you accused me of not answering another poster who asked what approach they used, you were also wrong.

For sure. I still don't agree with it.

Are you serious?

Take a kid with severe burns - you’d deny them cosmetic or reconstructive surgery? After all it’s irreversible.

This is Mumsnet not Clownland 🤡🤡 If you’re not going to engage in good faith then don’t engage.

LadyBracknellsHandbagg · 06/09/2025 19:03

So we appear to have reached the clownland stage of debating. Next comes the patronising stage, followed by aggression and then a good old flounce.

If my quotation is so awful you can tell me what bit of WPATH I quoted that you think is factually wrong?

A poster asked what Anne Healths diagnostic criteria is and I answered her that it is ICD11.

Which bit of that of you think is incorrect and why?

It's WPATH.

The end.

So the bit from the beginning to the end.

It's a great work of fiction though.

HTH.

Indeed.

There's no point debating in good faith. There is none.

WPATH is a pile of dodgy cobblers written by some people with suspect agendas.

PlanetJanette · 06/09/2025 19:26

Charabanc · 06/09/2025 18:54

We do not share the belief in WPATH's medical advice.

Fine. What’s that got to do with the factual question I was asked, and answered?

Disagreement with WPATH is in no way relevant to the question asked which was what approach does Anne Health follow - the answer to which is the ICD11 criteria. That answer doesn’t change just because you don’t like WPATH.

So you think it’s factually incorrect that Anne Health is saying they follow the ICD11?

Honestly you’d get a more coherent response at a Donald Trump rally.

I'm at peace with you making that smear. It's meaningless. Everything is either Hitler or Trump and I know I'm not, and other posters know I'm not.

I have nothing to prove on that score.

You meanwhile are still trying to ram WPATH as credible.

It's not.

Sad Times.

I engaged in the good faith that you meant what you wrote. That you didn’t express yourself clearly and unambiguously is a you problem, not a me problem.

It is extremely rare. You can have an ovary and testes at the same time but not both functional (probably…there are very occasional question marks in the literature about this). Just wanted to point out that things can sometimes be very complex indeed when it comes to DSDs. I think we need to resist the urge to oversimplify when it comes to these conditions specifically.

No, there’s no-one with both ovaries and testes that function. If anyone had been found, it would be an astonishing and widely publicised single case study.
It hasn’t been found because by the time someone has both ovarian and testicular tissue, something has already gone quite wrong with the development needed to bring either gonad to final maturity.

And we now move into the patronising stage, stay tuned for aggressive and then flounce. You guys, you are hilarious 😆

I have to admit I did giggle a bit at all the talk of children being "hidden away" it sounded like they were being put in cupboards Anne Frank style (since we seem to be on a Natzi theme) rather than just having their privacy respected and not used all for their parents pap shots/social media profiles.

Hilariously - this latest meltdown over the objective fact that Anne Health relies on the ICD11 diagnostic criteria isn’t even the most embarrassing thing for the phobes on this thread.

That came when the various ablist tropes and slurs emerged so kids that you all claim to be so terribly concerned about.

as I said up thread - scratch the surface round here and you always get to the field of other bigotry held dear among transphobes. Usually it’s race so I guess it’s nice to exhibit the ableism for a change.

Though I guess with the constant implication that autistic people can’t consent to medical treatment, that thread runs pretty clearly through transphobic movements.

Blah blah blah we’ve heard it all before, no originality whatsoever.

Exactly. But if a child that age says they are trans, people like David Tennant would support them being medicalised by taking hormones.

Has he actually said that? Do you have a link as I am interested.

Jesus Christ. Following your logic, I could argue that because (back in the day) the BNP supported a fully funded NHS, anyone who supported a fully funded NHS was also a BNP supporter...see how faulty that logic is?!

Beliefs and positioning can be illustrated as venn diagrams for a reason. Very few people are truly full circles.

But then it's easier to villify all gender critical people through some warped BS 'moral' grandstanding and a need to be 'right', rather than actually engage in proper meaningful discourse that could actually benefit everyone...All the while, doing the polarising work of the extreme rightwing machine for them.
