Nasty. She was an actress in her own right before marrying David.
Unless you want to pretend that was all down to her Daddy, couldn't possibly have done it on her own merits 🙄

You say nasty. I say just calling a spoon a spoon.

If you want to pretend that having famous parents doesn't allow for a ridiculous amount of social mobility and network opportunities that gives you a leg up (talented or otherwise) in a way that's not accessible to most, that's up to you.

Simply using a new word to describe something just replaces the old word in people’s minds, it doesn’t change them.

I disagree. Neurodiversity doesn't stigmatise the same way "additional needs" used to do.

As an aside: Her father was Dr Who. And then she had a relationship with the the then Dr Who.

All a bit - odd?

This thread is horrible. My daughter has ASD and I can assure you that her food issues aren’t because I didn’t practice calm meal times enough.

Fuck you.

The thread isnt about you though. I have a daughter with asd, adhd, dyspraxia and other issues. She even had leukaemia when she was very young. I dont jump on every thread taking things personally and playing the victim. People are entitled to have opinions on celebrities who parade their nepo babies all over social media, and in their case tv shows.

No they can't! FFS!
Do you actually know any trans people in real life and know what they actually do through to be able to transition?
The only children that can hormone medication are those that are intersex and need to decide which sex they feel they are more alike. It means they have both male and female sexual organs and until they were allowed the medication it was down to their parents to decide whether they wanted their child to be a boy or a girl!

There is no such thing as transition. It doesn't matter how many surgeries you have or drugs you take - there you still are...

SouthWamses · 05/09/2025 14:48

Most men who identify as trans change their clothes but they don’t even need to do that. Some get breast implants and grow their hair. The vast majority never have any other surgery. A few take cross sex hormones.

DoinFineIThink · 05/09/2025 14:51

it's bad enough she's hung off David's coat tails for years
The sneering misogyny on this board never ceases to amaze 😁

Odd because they both played the same character?
You realise it's fiction, right?

Coincidence would be a better word. But far less of a coincidence when you think that means they moved in the same circles.

KateMiskin · 05/09/2025 14:57

Both the Tennants sound very hard work, but particularly Georgia. I hope that's not misogynistic.
Would hate to go down the pub with either.

So why is it odd then?

DoinFineIThink · 05/09/2025 14:59

I mean they played the same character. Big deal

OK! Big deal. Never happens. No daddy issues.

Now, let's get back to DT being a TRA.

Only because it hasn't had time.

Mapletree1985 · 05/09/2025 15:37

If we counted up all the people who fall into the category of neurodiverse, I think we'd find they were in the majority. I myself am neurodiverse due to my left-handedness.

No shit Sherlock.

We didn't need a public announcement to know this.

She didn't publicly announce it. She spoke about it in a podcast and that comment has been picked up and written about. It's very different to her doing a post or tweet announcing it.

Five kids, one of whom is a they/them that she put on Instagram at the age of 9-10 wearing a "let's get things straight - I'm not" t shirt.

Whereas she did publicly announce the above. Unwise, to say the least.

Nepotism is at its most powerful in getting that first ‘break’, after that you really need to have some skills to succeed on your own. It is likely Georgia had both - getting opportunities as a child on shows alongside her father, plus the ability to act. Skills, as well as interests, often run in families.

Her mum is an actor too. Sandra Dickinson.

Ok then.

Did she not realise that podcasts are listened to by the public? Somebody should have told her that. And you.

what they actually do through to be able to transition"

That would be 'Nothing at all.'

I'm a man and I can transition just by saying so. I don't need drugs or surgery and don't need to even shave or buy a dress. My word changes reality.

I can even swap between man/woman on different days of the week.

If you're thinking of GRCs those are rare and most don't bother.

As for drugs as others have pointed out you can get them sent from other countries and there's still a plan to hand out puberty blockers for 'trials'.
