If you don't think she is please don’t post. Please can you tell me specifically what she has said or done that is so bad. I promise that I will listen and not argue. If you could include links that would be great. If your inclination is to assume that I’m posting in bad faith and any reasonably well informed person must be stupid or bigoted not to know, then please just let the thread die.

Her charity work is great and no woman should have to face any sort of abuse but she takes get pleasure in attacking mocking and marginalizing one of the most victimised groups in society. I am all for womans rights but this does not mean trans people should be protected as well. But according to her you only deserve support of you were born a woman. It's just plain wrong. If I murder someone but help out my elderly neighbours this does not cancel out the wrong that I have commited and it's the same in this case

Oh hello, somebody has revived this thread, and with a post which contains so many dubious points -

Transpeople - marginalised? victimised? when in fact they wield a completely disproportionate amount of power and influence - at the last Census there were only about 250,000 transpeople in a population of about 69 million.

Transpeople have all the rights they are entitled to - what rights do you think they do not have? The problem is when they want not only the same rights as anybody else, but other people's rights as well.

But according to her you only deserve support of you were born a woman.
No that's not correct, anybody who needs support deserves to get it, but you only deserve women's rights if you are a woman
'To transpeople, their rights and no more
To women, our rights and no less.'

If I murder someone but help out my elderly neighbours this does not cancel out the wrong that I have commited and it's the same in this case
I'm missing something here - JKR has murdered someone? 🙄

Yet she spends all her time on social media dividing society 🤷🏼‍♀️ it’s clear this thread wasn’t started in good faith asking for actual contributions, so I’m out

She hardly spends "all her time" on social media. She didn't post for weeks recently, and even when she does post it's contained within a time period. She spends most of her time doing other things, I think posting on X takes up a very small amount of her life. It's just that, this is the only part we really get to see of her since it's what she wants to be vocal about. It's clear she has a pretty rich life from the occasional peep into it and the books she writes.

How are trans identifying females more victimised in society than other females?

If you're expressing the male-default here, and you actually have in mind trans identifying males, then how is a sub-group of men more victimised in society than women?

Could you also post quotes - with references, so they can be checked - where JKR attacked, mocked, and marginalised both or either of these collective groups?

EmeraldRoulette · 08/12/2025 00:15

@forthemanynotthefew100 another one waiting for quotes that are "marginalising, attacking, mocking" of any group of people.

How can you tell this? I'd like some justification and examples here please.

in attacking mocking
Can we have examples otherwise this is straight up defamation

and marginalizing one of the most victimised groups in society
What criteria are we using to make this assessment? Financial? Socially excluded? Powerful? Crime rates? Where are we talking about?

Honestly the vague drive by generalisation of meaningless phrases stitched today pretending to actually have a coherent and educated thought process behind it is a load of crap.

In reality it's a flat out character assassination based on ideological guff someone copied off the internet from someone else. It's not even their own homework, it's something they say because someone told them JKR is mean and to be cool they should believe it too.

Clueless hot air wind bagging.

You have to be taking the piss, @forthemanynotthefew100 . Trans is THE most powerful, most protected and most privileged group. It has managed in less than a generation to redefine women, to remove womens hard won rights and spaces, to insert themselves in everything to the extent that we cannot even have an International Womens Day without transwomen being mentioned. Their tentacles reach in government and education. These people are higher up on the totem pole than ordinary males. Indeed and in fact, it is trans activists that get pleasure in attacking, mocking (see the recent thread where a transwoman mocked a girl getting a brain injury from a transwoman in sport and this transwoman LAUGHED about it!) and marginalising the female sex, including reducing us to 'menstruators', 'cervix havers' and 'birthing person'.

NEVER has a group had so much POWER. This is what JK said about trans. Now show me exactly how she is "attacking, mocking and marginalising" transwomen here:

This thread is specifically for people who think JK Rowling is awful so..

Perhaps it would be good to go back to JK Rowling’s twitter timeline and bring examples of when she has attacked or mocked a person who has not been abusive towards her or other women first?

If you cannot find an example of her attacking or mocking a person who has not been abusive toward her or other women first, why do you remove her right to react to that abuse? Why would you support the abuser over the victim?

Without specific evidence, all you have is a vague generalisation which you are then using to attack a victim of horrendous abuse. I wonder if you understand the abuser dynamic at all?

So do you shout at the dogs trust because they don’t centre and protect cats? Why is it women’s job to protect transpeople? Where are all the transpeople sticking up for women when women get death threats, rape threats and violence for demanding their sex based rights? Just because we’re women doesn’t mean we have to put everyone else first.

She could be addressing things like child poverty, she could be helping people like Marcus rashford did. I just find it all quite sad that the elite in this country focus on the divisive rhetoric rather than actually trying to improve things.

This is what J K Rowling supports. What Marcus Rashford did was admirable, but J K Rowling has done a hundred times that.

Men who prioritise themselves and expect everyone else to, always give women a 'to do list' of the issues they need to solve before women rights.

Okay. You don’t need to be, because I hold my beliefs and you hold yours. For what it’s worth, I don’t know where I sit on the entire trans thing but I think I lean more towards the views held on this board. I just find it sad when anyone with great wealth becomes like this.

Are you serious?

J.K. Rowling's extensive charitable work centers on helping vulnerable children and women through her charity Lumos, supporting victims of abuse via her Volant Trust, funding neurological research at the Anne Rowling Clinic, and establishing women's support at Beira's Place, demonstrating a deep commitment to social welfare, often inspired by her own experiences and focusing on alleviating poverty and deprivation, particularly for women and children.
Key Charities & Initiatives:

  • Lumos: Founded by Rowling to end the institutionalization of children by transforming care systems, helping them find family homes.
  • Volant Charitable Trust:Administers grants to charities, primarily in Scotland, tackling social deprivation, especially for women and children.
  • Anne Rowling Regenerative Neurology Clinic: Established with a significant donation in memory of her mother, focusing on MS and other neurological conditions.
  • Beira's Place: A free, women-only support service in Edinburgh for survivors of sexual violence and abuse.
  • Gingerbread: Served as President for this charity supporting lone parents and their children.
Other Charitable Activities:
  • Harry Potter Companion Books:Wrote Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Quidditch Through the Ages, and The Tales of Beedle the Bard, with proceeds benefiting charities like Lumos.
  • Past Affiliations: Worked with Amnesty International and supported organizations like Doctors Without Borders and Maggie's Centres.
  • Legal Funding: Uses her wealth to fund legal cases for women's sex-based rights, as noted by a Reddit post.
Motivation:
  • Inspired by a story of a boy in a Romanian orphanage, leading to Lumos.
  • Her own experiences with poverty and her mother's MS fueled her desire to help.

Unfortunately it does. I can give you three examples:

  1. A close friend who Graham Linehan took against. Decided to 'out her' as trans (she isn't) and dox her. He encouraged his friends to jump on the bandwagon. At least JK Rowling deleted her tweet. This put her life in turmoil, and her teenage daughters at huge risk for bullying. This is not protecting women.

  2. A colleague. A 6ft1 woman, slim, big boobs, died red hair, and often wears too much make up. Three times she has been abused and threatened for being in "women's spaces". One "called their mates" to come and get her. She walked down the street with them following her shouting trans based abused.

  3. A relative. A fair butch lesbian. Not even particularly tall. Wore a dress once for a night out. A group got her thrown out of a nightclub because she couldn't prove she was female and this group decided she shouldn't be using the women's toilets.

This is the reality of what is happening and being encouraged.

It's a terrible shame that men have broken the social contract, infiltrated women's spaces and made women more suspicious than they once were.

However the answer to this is for men to commit to staying out of women's spaces and rebuild trust among women.

Here's hoping they commit to that process and get on with it.

That’s in the men who demanded access to women’s facilities isn’t it then? I mean, unless of course this was happing before trans mania became a thing and it’s just always been that way? Maybe if women had a guarantee thst everyone in female facilities was female, women wouldn’t get harassed.

Are you honestly saying women should let all men into female single sex facilities because some women get questioned? How about all men don’t use female facilities?

MarieDeGournay · 08/12/2025 09:49

forthemanynotthefew100 appears to have left. Predictable.
But their intervention gave us a good opportunity to re-state some truths about JKR, e.g. Lumos, the Anne Rowling MS clinic, Beira's Place, her statements in support of trans people's human rights, etc, and that's not a bad thing,
