If you don't think she is please don’t post. Please can you tell me specifically what she has said or done that is so bad. I promise that I will listen and not argue. If you could include links that would be great. If your inclination is to assume that I’m posting in bad faith and any reasonably well informed person must be stupid or bigoted not to know, then please just let the thread die.

That is really clutching at straws.

But you carry on shouting that the real threat is trans women. Because the predatory men are loving having the spotlight so far away from them.

I wonder if you are aware of Tinsel’s history and role in these issues. I suspect not.

Have we encountered any posters who are worried about women’s in-the-moment capacity to prove they’re female when they are, in fact, female and welcome the SC ruling? Or, has this point only been raised to highlight ‘and another thing’ to object to.

It reminds me of the ‘intersex’ argument. If people don’t know which sex they are, the problems arising for them are sex not gender identity related. Also, 99.9+% of people have XX or XY chromosomes and for 99.8% of the population this is correctly assumed through observing their external sex characteristics at birth. This simply isn’t an issue.

If all males followed the SC ruling and did not use female provision, regardless of their gender identity and preference to use female provision, everyone would be more relaxed about the appearance of the women using them. If transwomen got behind the ruling and, en masse, condemned transwomen using female provision, stating it was unfair on women and gave transwomen a bad name - this would probably be the most powerful thing they could do to support gender non conforming women who are concerned about being challenged.

For posters who are concerned about their butch friends being challenged, you too can speak up and out against transwomen using female provision - as if/when they stop, watch the alleged issue for butch women disappear!

Can you explain how a woman can prove she is a woman then? How should my niece have proven she is a woman? Or should she work harder to look 'more female'?

What about the two non butch women I mentioned? One is tall, that is her only 'crime'. One had a black and white photo taken once.

I can't fight every single battle. I have fought to protect women in sport. To keep trans men out of women's categories in sport. This was the battle I chose.

Then you don’t know much about this debate. As we are frequently told by the transgender lobby, you need to educate yourself*. A search on here would help.

*The problem for them is that we did educate ourselves and found that everything they said was lies and nonsense.

If men weren't given female id, and shout that they intend to use womens spaces, women wouldnt need to prove that they are women.

So im going with that option. Men have created the problem, therefore men should not have female id .

What 'predatory men' are loving is being given a easy pass to women's spaces with an added 'these men are vulnerable and marginalised and definitely not the ones you need to worry about.'

If you don't think that predatory men would leap at this (especially the ones with an interest in children) you are ridiculously naive. Predatory men will exploit any safeguarding loophole that exists. And this isn't just a loophole, it's a chasm.

I say this as someone with 20+ years experience working with sex offenders.

TinselAngel · 09/12/2025 12:42

The “it’s the men you already know who are the real danger not the trans women” is an argument which completely ignores the experience of trans widows and children of transitioners.

And that it's more likely to be the person you know because you have been targeted (see single mothers being targeted by paedophiles).

Predators actively seek to put themselves into positions where women and children think they are safe.

Continuing with the 'vulnerable and marginalised' mantra only makes this group more appealing for those who would exploit it. It's almost as if it's on purpose...

Remember she is one of the "you can just tell" brigade, and that any women who were born women who might, unfortunately, get wrongly labelled are just unfortunate. Remember to live up to the normal standards of beauty expected of you ladies.

It's about male skeletal structure, not "standards of beauty" or 'femininity'. That's what you don't understand. A woman can be as butch and ugly as a hatful of snails but she will still have a female skeletal structure.

ThatBlackCat · 09/12/2025 14:20

justteanbiscuits · 08/12/2025 09:35

Where have Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliff and Rupert Grint been abusive to her or women?

Are you kidding me!???? They've continually scolded her in public! FFS.

ThatBlackCat · 09/12/2025 14:24

justteanbiscuits · 08/12/2025 09:42

Unfortunately it does. I can give you three examples:

  1. A close friend who Graham Linehan took against. Decided to 'out her' as trans (she isn't) and dox her. He encouraged his friends to jump on the bandwagon. At least JK Rowling deleted her tweet. This put her life in turmoil, and her teenage daughters at huge risk for bullying. This is not protecting women.

  2. A colleague. A 6ft1 woman, slim, big boobs, died red hair, and often wears too much make up. Three times she has been abused and threatened for being in "women's spaces". One "called their mates" to come and get her. She walked down the street with them following her shouting trans based abused.

  3. A relative. A fair butch lesbian. Not even particularly tall. Wore a dress once for a night out. A group got her thrown out of a nightclub because she couldn't prove she was female and this group decided she shouldn't be using the women's toilets.

This is the reality of what is happening and being encouraged.

Edited

Oh I see. So because women are on high alert, understandably, since males have been in our spaces, that is our fault, and not the fault of the MALES who invaded our spaces in the first place, thus causing us to be on high alert, and NOW you victim-blame us for our reaction?

How about putting the blame where it bloody well lies! With males who entered our spaces and caused us to be on high alert, instead of gaslighting us for our trauma.

If you have a very large following, and you post (either yourself or a retweet) something that could be very damaging to someone's life, you should always post that your information was incorrect. Leaving it up for days (when the correct information was posted within an hour of the original tweet which she could have easily spent a few minutes checking before retweeting) and then not posting a retraction was was dangerous. She was putting school age teenagers at very clear risk of bullying.

My opinion is that while this country focuses on "trans women are evil" (along with "brown people are evil") the people we are most at risk from - men we probably already know, and vastly more likely to be in / have been in a relationship with - have the feeling they can now get away with it as no one is looking. We are at danger from predatory and dangerous men. Some of those men will use what ever means necessary to get access to women. If trans women were the real threat, the rates of attacks happening in female spaces would be rising. But they aren't. Do you ban plumbers, or cleaners from female spaces because men have pretended to be both in order to access women in the past? When it comes to toilets, I would ENORMOUSLY individual cubicles with a sink in - there are numerous reasons this is a much better option for everyone.

Linking defending womens rights with racism... how predictable.

Transwomen are men and allowing them to access female spaces enlarges the possibility for 'men we know' to use that to follow us into spaces.

It's not about 'transwomen', it's about MALES. And the rates of attacks are happening. Putting aside the fact it's about privacy and dignity, not just 'attacks'.

Do you ban plumbers, or cleaners from female spaces because men have pretended to be both in order to access women in the past?

Um, you realise they put a sign out front closing off the toilets and re-directing people to other toilets, right? They don't go in there AT THE SAME TIME women are there?

When it comes to toilets, I would ENORMOUSLY individual cubicles with a sink in - there are numerous reasons this is a much better option for everyone.

And just who is going to pay for these individual cubicles which are WIDENED (meaning less cubicle space) and all the extra plumbing? When we have perfectly good female communal spaces?

No what is clutching at straws is thinking that MALES such as transwomen are not a threat because..... men we know. Any male in a female only space is a predator. And that includes transwomen. If transwomen are in female only spaces, they are the predator. Whether we personally know them or not is irrelevant.

My cousin's husband came out as trans in their 40's. They had children. And have spoken to her at length about it. So no I'm far from ignoring the experience of the partners of trans people.

Then why do I know THREE people who have been abused for being trans women, when they aren't? One literally abused by thousands of people. By people who claim they can "just tell".

justteanbiscuits · 09/12/2025 15:47

ArabellaSaurus · 09/12/2025 16:00

Then why do I know THREE people who have been abused for being trans women, when they aren't? One literally abused by thousands of people. By people who claim they can "just tell".

Because a section of the populace have decided to try and 'stealth' or deceive other people about their sex, use spaces and services set aside for the opposite sex. This has created a problem - people are on guard and anxious that men are trying to access women's spaces and services.

This was a totally predictable result of 'trans' ideology. Women are at risk from males - remove single sex exemptions/protections and start declaring that any man can use a woman's space if he wants to, then you will inevitably end up with this situation.

Because most women and girls do not want to share spaces set aside for women and girls with males.

As and when we see the SC judgement followed and upheld, and people regain confidence that people of the opposite sex are not going to try and use the spaces/services they are explicitly, legally forbidden from using then things should settle down a bit.

If you are worried about this, I would suggest speaking to men who identify as trans, and explaining that they need to follow the law and women's wishes, and stay out of women's spaces and services.

No point telling women off for being worried or scared or anxious. It's not women who are at fault, here.

TheKeatingFive · 09/12/2025 16:03

@justteanbiscuits what do you think should be done then?

Because some women may be questioned (im skeptical, but let's assume you are right) then what?

We should just role over and give men everything they want and to hell with our rights? Is that your solution?
