I was sent this tonight and posted it since I see no reason to disbelieve it in light of his comments about previously having watched copious amounts of porn. I don't care to know present details (!) beyond noting that, for me, he's still an extraordinarily misogynistic, entitled man as evidenced by his constantly failing to respect boundaries. The latest episode being publicly berating JKR for failing to acknowledge his presence. Her not acknowledging him IS a boundary and yet he's made numerous posts about it to the point it's verging on stalker ex-partner territory.

It also reveals his motivations. He needs "names" to boost him whereas most are just getting on with things and it's a bonus if they are amplified along the way.

And now, his apparently drunken outburst (I can't fathom saying what he did sober or at all) has appeared in The Telegraph. I'd be beyond mortified but he seems to think his ACKNOWLEDGE ME comments are sane and normal.

He's an absolute weapon.

Is this supposed to make us believe that people can change sex, or that rapists should be put in women’s prisons, or that children should be given irreversible medical treatment for a MH issue, or that men should compete against women in sports, or that women should accept men pretending to be women in our SSS?

I feel so sorry for him. He has helped so much and he has lost so much, that would knock anyone off kilter.

Ten, fifteen years ago he made drunk rambling posts on twitter about porn, or alternatively made a string of ill judged humour gags about watching porn at work.

Whatever, it makes no difference to what I believe, or to the good work he has done.

Why oh why do we have to throw away good things because they exist alongside bad things? It’s so indiscriminate.

If a man watching porn means he should be cast into the outer darkness (or perhaps the outer, outer darkness in Glinner's case) they'd be precious few men left and none of them would be trans identified.

I feel like he is quite unstable, unfortunately. I have a lot of admiration for him, but was sad to see him attack JK Rowling. He should be strong enough to stand up for what he believes without needing any specific person to back him.

There’s too much backstabbing and criticism going on and nobody deserves criticism for not speaking up on any specific person’s behalf.

He's a misogynist. There are plenty of people who want to protect women's spaces who are NOT goady misogynistic arses like him- I really don't understand why he's one of the better known spearheads of women's rights.

Same here. I shall now write to my MP demanding that all male sex offenders should be housed in women’s prisons if they wish.

He hasn’t ‘attacked’ JKR, he simply said he’s disappointed that she hasn’t spoken up in his defence. If you think that’s attacking someone then you need to give your head a wobble.

Btw, JKR isn’t obliged to speak up for anyone.

I think it’s because he lost the most as a result. He didn’t seem to have any sense of self preservation when he felt strongly about something. Hence losing relationships, friends and income.

I’d say the reason JK separates herself is that generally she tries to rise above/ come from a place of kindness but with a strong sense of ‘no - this is where kindness stops and safety starts’.
Glinner didn’t rise above and returned fire in the same way he was attacked so often his passion came across as low blows. I don’t agree with his expression but I still hope he’s ok.

I have mixed feelings about GL, his intentions are obviously good but like Kjk he's a bit extreme and sometimes it does him no favours.
On the other hand, you need to have a sense of humour that's on the edge and to see things others don't understand order to write such imaginative comedies as The IT Crowd, Black Books and my personal favourite sit cim if all time Father Ted.

I'm pretty sick of the way he's been attacking JKR the last few days, I think this is the straw that has finally broke the camel's back with me and I find it hard to defend him anymore.
