The world has probably had enough of sturgeon to last a lifetime but today’s ‘revelation’ from her shite book is just infuriating.

A long catalogue of poor me, I’m pure of spirit, any criticism is toxic, everyone else is malevolent.

Despite calling people who don’t agree with her idiotic bill racists, homophobes and misogynists, here she says JK’s teeshirt didn’t elevate the debate or illuminate the issues.

And then goes on to say that this issue wasn’t really that important to mainstream voters but we are all guilty of hysteria.

And she wishes she had the courage to call a rapist female.

For someone allegedly politically astute this book is a very stupid strategy. Slow hand clap.

The problem with your later posts claiming you are respectful and have been the undeserving recipient of 'unpleasant responses', Gofaster2023, is that if you showed this post of yours to 100 random members of the public and asked them to say if they felt it was polite, balanced, reasonable, or if it displayed antipathy towards the 'a lot of you' it addressed, I think most neutral observers would think accusations of hatred, 'cheap shots' and 'you think you are cutely hilarious' have a definite edge.

Which is OK, 'robust debate' and all that. But the later innocent 'why-are-you-starting-an-argument-and-being-unpleasant-to-me attitude sits awkwardly alongside this post.

I don't know. I suppose I just dont like the personal attacks. It makes no sense because I wouldn't feel the same way about a Putin tshirt so I know its just some strange emotional response to it! I actually really respect Rowlings arguments and she can be so witty and succinct so it just felt a little bit off. I really am trying to think through my responses and thank you for asking in a polite way. Destroying women's rights isn't that big a deal and we aren't allowed to be really angry about it, because if we are we might be seen as mean and really unfair to Nicola. Our response to her sheer brass neck in trying to rewrite history and pretend that we didn't try and talk about this reasonably for YEARS is totally unjustified. We should just accept she's got a point that we turned the debate toxic.

Shall we shut up now so that other people can rush to her defence and there can be a debate about whether we are being fair? I mean Nicola is big on wanting debate rather than getting her own way isn't she?
