Islington Council slams 'botched' single sex spaces guidance

The council argues that the new guidance, which suggests that staff should check a person’s sex at birth before granting access to single-sex services or spaces, is unworkable and risks breaching individuals’ privacy and exposing them to harassment.

"Expecting reception staff in a busy leisure centre or a domestic violence service to determine whether someone is trans, without subjecting them to harassment or breaching their right to privacy, is not practical.

"It risks legal confusion and a culture of suspicion.

"That’s why we have called for the EHRC to pause this botched process – properly listening to trans communities – rather than simply causing further confusion."

'Botched' single sex spaces rules 'risks harassment and discrimination'

Islington Council has strongly opposed new EHRC guidance on single-sex spaces, calling it unworkable and a risk to privacy, safety, and trans rights.

I wonder whether breaching the Supreme Court ruling would be legitimate grounds for a citizens arrest? 🤔

My sex is not private, it's on all my documents loud and proud: F, as per law and GRA 2004.

But you dislike following the law so you get mad about it and make stuff up like people "hiding" sex.

Oh well.

Oh excellent.

Maybe you can answer the question I keep asking.

Do you believe that all people should disclose their sex (not legal sex, but biological sex) before engaging in a sex act with a new sex partner?

Oh well.

That’s not actually your sex, even with the piece of paper from the Ministry of Truth in Oceania. It’s your so called “gender”. That’s why it’s called the “Gender Recognition Act” rather than the “Sex Recognition Act”. Hope that helps. As you know your sex is male, in reality and in law.

Your sex on your GRC is just pretend. Yea, it’s sad you want to be something so bad that you will lie to yourself about being someone you never can be. Real women don’t have to lie to men or each other. I wish you luck lying to men and see how fast the response will be when you say But but but, my GRC makes me a REAL woman. Sad, just like Pinocchio, who could never be a REAL boy.

The wonderful SC decision states very clearly that for all intents and purposes of the EA, TIMs with GRCs are still MEN. They clarified also that when the law says woman, it means biological women. That’s why all you TRAs are going mad right now.

I look forward to challenging all men I come across in our private spaces. With the law in our side, soon these mentally ill men will be on the SO registry.

Oh dear. Your sex is female insofar as it is granted under GRA 2004. You may wish to read the SC ruling paragraphs 101 to 111. To paraphrase, Their Lordships ruled unanimously that the correct interpretation of the GRA 2004 was that the issue of a GRC changes the sex of a recipient for all purposes except those purposes where it matters.

Having one or more government documents with a female sex marker does not now and has never made you a woman.

Although many thanks to Aida for yet again demonstrating the misogyny of his (1) movement.

There can, in Aida's eyes, be no word for woman that does not include him(1). Aida is prepared to undefine half of humanity - all of humanity - to make it impossible to speak clearly about how we live in the world and what it is to be us simply out of envy or anger that he(1) is not one of us.

How the fuck can anyone consider that a reasonable point of view?

(1) Sex based language used for clarity. No statement about Aida's gender should be read into this.

No no Flirts... there is no misogyny to be seen about male people declaring they are female .... at all.. We have been told!

Is @AidaP an undercover gender critical
person writing completely ridiculous posts with the aim that nothing unites people like a common enemy?

No their function is to tie up contributors to FWR with answering posts with no other intention than stopping them from contributing to pro-active and positive discussion, and instead endlessly interact with regativity.

Dont feed the trolls.

It just makes each thread exactly the same.

Even though Islington Council may not be top of everyone's concerns a better use of everyone's times would be working out who to combat council intransigence etc..

Instead make someone's ego the theme of a thread.

You are right, but everything they say is so one dimensional and everyone bites.

You may not like the fact that you are male

You may wish that you were a woman

You may even have persuaded those who love you to pretend things that aren't true are and have got them to collude in a deception with you.

But if you as a member of the male half of human race have an F on your documents then yes you are trying, how successfully in real life I don't know, to hide your sex.

If you got a GRA to make your sex F then you are a loud and proud man.

Yes, the actual GRA is a huge tell.

But, but, but I have a GRA so I am a real woman! Said no actual real women.

I think they mentioned something about sex is not “certificated”…

He doesn’t have a GRC or they would say so. He doesn’t understand the law just that the GRA exists.
