Mumsnet Obsession With Penises

My controversial opinion is that most of the Mums who obsess here over penises, uteruses and chromosomes, would pick more important and interesting topics if their own child was trans.

Brilliant!

That sounds good.

My mother used to make curried sausages in the 1970s. With raisons and always with sliced banana and coconut. It was really good surprisingly.

But I am not great with curry generally although I love a creamy passanda. I am afraid I just use a jar of korma and then add more coconut milk to even that so it becomes even more mild. And pappadums. Lots of pappadums. I'm more obsessed with those than penises to be honest. (And people with penises are not women).

I'm sorry, but curried sausages with raisins is 100% the most controversial thing I've read on Mumsnet.

I'm currently googling to see if I can find a recipe that is most like her dish. Not finding a good match so far, but it also had sugar in it if i recall.

I'm not selling it, am I?

My Grandad loved curried fishcakes!

Brilliant!

JFC that was painful and people like Rachel think laws should be made on that level of complete and utter incoherence.

Buh-loody hell.

That you, OP?

Ah thank you for this too!

Yes it was something about how in the 50s everyone was completely bamboozled by curry and now we uncultured types are similarly bamboozled by trans. And some other equally nonsense points.

I will now share my most recent food discovery...

Tum Yum noodles in a packet. Packet of stir fried veg. Put together and you have a very tasty and cheap dinner.

Oh I will give this a go.

To be honest I love a pack of those Korean spicy noodles, the really soupy ones, and then to crack an egg on top. Feel like a world class chef when I do that, especially if I sprinkle some chopped chives on top.

Oh ! My!

I don't think you should be reading 50 Shades of Grey so often 🤣

Clearly this is a forum for mothers who've never loved and cared for a trans person.
You have no fucking idea what you're talking about.

Was I right? Are you 20 and sent home for the summer to wind up the wicked terfs? Many of whom do know and like some trans people - but who also believe in biological reality and safeguarding.

Well it was certainly interesting that post was 2.30am in the morning.

Most PARENTS of gender questioning kids here will be in bed by that time being knackered after looking their child that they love very much.

(Noting there are actually plenty of Dads here too, but you'd know that if you were a regular).

BackToLurk · 30/06/2025 10:11

Could someone bring the thread full circle by providing a recipe for curried penis?

RapidOnsetGenderCritic · 30/06/2025 10:12

Christinapple · 29/06/2025 23:39

There are several threads on here from posters who have a family member who is trans or has trans supportive views. The outcome is a thread here saying they have became estranged with them and other family members. A lot of posters post about being kicked out of online or offline friend groups for being overly obsessive and negative about trans people.

You don't win friends with salad gender critical views.

Though I am saddened by my son's near-estrangement from us, it's noticeable that he can get over his feelings of disgust at my daring to see gender differently from him when he needs advice on something I know about and he doesn't.

DustyWindowsills · 30/06/2025 10:12

There's a thread on "army curry" at Arrse.

https://www.arrse.co.uk/community/threads/army-curry.50133/

I haven't seen a recipe yet, but there's mention of a cookbook for the Brigade of Gurkhas.

It sounds like what my mum called NAAFI curry. I used to pick out the sultanas and leave them on the side of the plate.

I always try to bear in mind we have no idea who is posting. Could easily be an 11 year old. Although many people live with astonishing amounts of cognitive dissonance, mixed in with emotive reasoning that they barely are even aware of themselves.

I expect it's a fairly normal part of human nature that the internet has just made more visible, but possible it's also fuelled/amplified by the medium.

Anyway. It's put me in the mood for butter chicken tonight. Rick Stein's is pretty good.

If it's an 11 year old, then Id be concerned about why they were on the internet at 2.30am unsupervised. It would explain many things though.

A cracked egg and chives?!

That is proper. 😘

Have I got this right:
there was a question on AIBU 'What is your most controversial opinion?' and somehow this morphed into a bunch of posts appearing on the Feminism: Sex and gender discussions board, most of which display a total lack of awareness of the issues, a complete ignorance of the range of boards on MN, an unwillingness to debate any of their claims, and then 'you've never even met a trans person, door-slam'.

We've had our usual fun with the obvious silliness of a lot of the posts, but nobody on this board asked for these opinions. and frankly it's getting a bit tedious now.

Why did their contributions not appear on the board which originally asked the question about controversial opinions? How did then end up here? Can they all be moved back to AIBU?

Tbf, I can only (theoretically) link this particular thread in relation to the 'controversial opinion thread'. The rest may just be our usual 'say mad shit' ploppers, apropos of nothing.

Mind you, I was posting at silly o'clock in the morning because the caravan was like an oven and I had gotten bored of glaring at my snoring husband and had run out of revenge scenarios in my head.

(Not a parent of a gender questioning child, but you get the drift)

Oh I occasionally post very late or very early. But that's generally the exception and it's quiet between 2am and 5am as a rule.

Alternatively it's an 11 year old in a different time zone. 02:30 BST is 21:30 in New York & 18:30 in San Francisco.

MarieDeGournay · 30/06/2025 10:40

Well who wouldn't be obsessed with penises? They are so beautiful, reminiscent of days of yore in their slightly overblown, generous elegance.

They are so lovely I've just sent a bunch of them to a friend for her birthday, I know she'll love them. And free chocolates too!

Christ on a bike ….i don’t know how Tom managed to stay so calm during that exchange. Rachel desperately trying to stay on message from what has been drummed into her. Going so far as to downplay a woman being raped by a transwoman on a hospital ward by talking about male rape in prisons! Ignoring the point about this particular example being the gaslighting and denials by staff that the rape was even a possibility. A situation that could only be brought about by blind allegiance to the cause of TWAW.

The really sad thing for me is, that conversation was nearly identical to one I had with my best friend on this issue 😥.

I just couldn't believe it. Still can't. 😥
