Some women are in prison for merely not pay tv licences. Many women in prison have been victims of abuse in some way.

Are you seriously saying these women DESERVE to be violated by a male?

Is that what you are seriously suggesting? Because that makes you subhuman if that is truly how cruel and inhuman your thought process is. No woman in prison deserves to be violated by a male just because she is in prison.

Of course not 🙄 where am I saying I think a woman should be violated whilst in prison??

MOJ data set proves it.

Exactly flags at Glastonbury and it's got down to transwomen in prisons and pretty much nothing else

Well, that's how transactivism goes. Start off by disrespecting the fact that a woman is an adult female, and by logical progression you end up with males in women's prisons. The two are closely connected.

Eagle2025 · 29/06/2025 13:33

FeistyCat · 29/06/2025 13:03

ONE, is ONE TOO MANY. How many 'tiny section' would be enough for you to recognise that the female sex are deserving of safety, privacy and dignity? Give us a number.

The female sex? We do fine thanks, not every woman sees herself as a victim or in danger. Your making a mountain out of a mole hill. You can never stop crime.

So your answer to the fact that you'll never stop crime against women is to ... make it easier for men to commit crimes against women.

I mean, seriously?

You see how appalling that looks, right?

Well that depends if you view trans people in that way. Maybe they are mixed up people who feel they were born the wrong sex. If they fly a flag in support of trans people doesnt necessarily mean you agree with male rapists in female prisons.

Well hopefully the odd one will be segregated until they get all the details sorted out. Takes time to implement new procedures when faced with new issues. Same with internet security for example we are now seeing the issues and trying to figure out what to do.

”the odd one will be segregated” - do you mean the trans prisoners? How are we deciding which odd ones will be segregated?

“get all the details sorted out” - what sort of details are going to get sorted out in some other magic way so that men who identify as women can still get to use other women prisoners as validators of gender identity, but no female prisoner is frightened/ distressed/ hurt/ traumatised.

what “new procedures”? the law around single sex prisons hasn’t changed, why are new procedures needed to accommodate the preferences of men who think they are women (or for whom this is convenient smokescreen while in prison).

”new issues”? What’s new? Reality hasn’t changed, male and female haven’t changed, humans still can’t change sex, and it is still barbaric to force a woman to share a cell with a male person.

This is just a load of wafty hand-waving away of hard cases because there is no magic answer that gives these men exactly what they want without female prisoners paying the price.

There is a conflict of rights that can’t be dismissed with a “I expect someone will sort out the details” hand wave.

At the end of the day, the trans 'rights' movement is campaigning for these men to be seen as women in the eyes of the law. So people need to think through the consequences of what they're supporting.

Look if your that concerned about women in prisons then you should concentrate your efforts on making sure men cant be employed in female prisons. I'm sure there are far more issues with that than the odd transwoman.

Didnt they just decide the legal definition of a woman. I'm not scared of transwomen.

People are concerned about women's need for single sex spaces in ...

Prisons, domestic violence shelters, rape crisis counselling, changing rooms, sports.

They are also concerned about sick and disabled women's need for single sex intimate care, should they desire it. Orthodox religious women's need for single sex accommodation in public life, like toilets and sports classes.

You don't seem to care about these things. Why?

They did. The people waving the flags are protesting what has been clarified in law.

I mean, really. Basic stuff here. Do you have the slightest clue what you're supporting?

I'm not supporting anything. I just dont have an issue with transgender. I dont fall for scaremongering.

So can transgender people not be raped? Why should they not be allowed access to crisis centres? Where do non transgender men currently go if they need support after rape?

It's all about common sense and judgement on each individual point not always trying to find the worst case scenario. You could say what's next- same sex buses? For women's safety only women are allowed on certain buses and men on another?

Well actually, in some cities women only transport has been trialled; certainly in the night time economy......and where I live there is a dedicated taxi service for gay men to get home safely.

You cannot possibly vet every single person you meet. We have rules and regulations about access and entry for all sorts of reasons, in many sorts of venues. This is basic safeguarding.

Having female only spaces is not to suggest that all men are predators, but that some are...and that female people have a right to privacy and dignity in certain types of situation in which the female body and/or biological function is central.

Well some women with histories of abuse may well feel scared of men in situations in which they are alone with them or where men are not expected to be. But for many of us it is more about the privacy and dignity of sex.

But what do you mean when you say you don't have sn issue?

You think people should be supported to express their personality or gender how they like? Cool, the vast majority on here would agree.

Or you think that men's 'gender identity' should trump their sex, allowing them to identify their way into women's sports, prisons, domestic violence shelters, board positions, etc.

Becayse really problematic for women, which should be self evident to you. That's not about scaremongering, it is affecting women now and has been for some time. That's what the TRA flags are supporting.

It is common sense to have privacy for women and girls in situations of undress or physical vulnerability. In private spaces you can control who enters, but in public spaces you cannot. We have rules for entry in many such spaces - and they are usually predicated on common sense.

Shortshriftandlethal · 29/06/2025 15:31

Also how can you make such generalised statements such as " I'm not scared of transwomen"

Have you met every trans-identified male?
