Like when we're told that we're ridiculous for saying that there are misogynistic monitors who screenshot posts here to take to other sites despite there having been actual interviews with men saying they do just that.

I do enjoy it when someone with the evidence before them, tries the magical thinking approach of just announcing they cannot see it, so it does not exist, and the problem is with those insisting maliciously that it does for nefarious reasons.

Personal realities. This is all about personal realities, and the attempts to blame, shame, coerce, control, persuade, argue etc etc for people to invest in another person's personal reality against their own perceptions.

We don't live in anyone's subjective personal reality, we have one shared, objective one.

Thanks…….<off to get some cosmetic feminisation just in case i am mistaken as a man>

😂

Posters don't.
Mumsnet itself does.
If what you post breaks talk guidelines.

Ask them.

[email protected] I believe it is.

Maaaaaate.

I do have a beard and moustache. But the tits down to my belly button negate those a bit.

BeeSouriante · 21/06/2025 00:11

I've read them but I disagree why do you keep restricting my voice?

Because they don't like what you are saying.

It's true that there are guidelines for proper behaviour, which is absolutely right on any forum, but there is a second, more pernicious, trend on this particular sub-forum where any voice that goes against the cult is jumped on by the crowd, the poster subjected to ad hominem attacks, and - very often - the post removed.

You could attempt to argue that any dissenting voice is, by its nature of being against the majority, 'trolling' and consequently breaches the guidelines, but I'm not convinced that's a very convincing argument. Let's be honest, anyone who doesn't worship JKR or doesn't think that trans-women are simply 'men in dresses' are, in the views of many on this forum, fair game to be attacked.

Where it becomes an even bigger problem is when the worst offenders attempt to obfuscate their behaviour by claiming it is feminism. It isn't.

All you can do, short of simply staying away from this sub-forum, is to maintain your stance with grace and humility.

  • Sweeping negative generalisations about any group, including trans people and gender-critical feminists, won’t be tolerated.

Those appear constantly on this branch without being removed. 'Trans people are deluded'. 'Trans people have mental health issues'.

Yup. Double standards.

Generally, I find the other areas of MN absolutely fine. It's only really this sub-forum that seems to bring out the nasty behaviour in some people.

tobee · 21/06/2025 10:49

See the op toddled off to bed at 00.11 so looks like they restricted their own voice.

Goody2ShoesAndTheFilthyBeast · 21/06/2025 10:50

Who do you think is removing the posts?
Do you think posters here are hacking into the website and removing posts?

If you email Mumsnet they will tell you why your posts have been removed.

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 21/06/2025 10:54

Ahahahaha oh Reddit, you shouldn't make an actual woman who has given birth to two children laugh so much, my pelvic floor isn't what it used to be.

🤣

It's not enough for them to stay on Reddit where gender critical voices are banned.

They feel the need to come over here, insult gender critical feminists because their actual arguments don't hold water, and then cry when their insulting posts are removed.

Why is this subforum so intent on removing voices that dont' agree?
Shortshriftandlethal · 21/06/2025 10:56

SnowFrogJelly · 21/06/2025 01:00

It’s basically true though

What is " basically true"?

The fact is that for years many valued contributors were banned from the forum due to the habit of trolls continually reporting posts that they didn't like. People who are regulars here are not big fans of reporting posts; they tend to prefer that a post speaks for itself and that casual observers can decide on the quality or veracity of the content.

Mumsnet has guidelines and rules around posting...though some of these have relaxed in recent years as women's voices and concerns around trans ideology have been taken more seriously.People who simply post insults, make accusations and engage in name calling may well find their post get removed, though.

I would certainly agree this is seen as an ideal space for women hating scolds to insult women. The 'reflections on trans arguments' thread is still up despite the jaw droppingly offensively rude OP. Indeed the OP of this thread has made multiple repetitively rude threads about the posters on here. And this thread is basically 'why am I not allowed to call women part of an anti trans hate cult with impunity?! Waaah!'

Yeah and maybe not outright lie about the moderation

that and and the grace bit will keep your posts up

posts are not deleted because you have a dissenting voice

its just not true and i don’t know how MNHQ have the patience not to comment

You might find it helpful to read up more on this - your characterisation of people in this board as being ‘opposed to trans rights’ is wholly inaccurate and may have coloured your concept of fair moderation.

You may want to start with the basic facts:

No one can change sex
Sex is important in some situations like medicine, sport, jobs and facilities
‘Gender identity’ has no real and fixed definition and relies totally on stereotypes.
Trans people have the same rights as the rest of us - most of their common demands are privileges which impact negatively on others.

This is such a bizarre response to my post, which was completely level and clearly not actually about trans rights. Your response suggests you are hugely invested in the topic and perhaps yourself can’t see the situation regarding moderation on mumsnet with any clarity.

I don’t think people can change sex in any way shape or form. I know sex is important. I am a lesbian who believes that there is an inherent homophobia and misogyny in elements of trans activism . I am a qualified lawyer with in-depth experience of equality law. I don’t need educating on the legal position in this area. I choose not to engage much in the debate on the topic on mumsnet because I find it can sometimes be toxic and unpleasant. I know there are plenty of people on this board who engage on the topic with integrity, and I also know there are others who do not, I have no idea what category you fall into as I have no idea who you are. But there are quite clearly people on this board who are opposed to trans rights and anybody suggesting that there is not is not being honest (perhaps even with themselves).

I strongly suggest you reread my first post and reflect on why you felt it necessary to send your response to somebody who has never engaged with you before and who you know nothing about.

moggly · 21/06/2025 11:02

His views are so very typical of a transactivist.

Like here he is claiming that gender critical women "enjoy" men like him being "raped and assaulted", are "enforcing gender conformity" and are "suckling on the penis of the far right" (🤮).

Heard all this rubbish many times before, these guys are ten a penny.

bee

please do contact MNHQ and get them to explain, I have been deleted and queried it and once they reinstated my post so it is worth a try

contact them directly or start something in site stuff….my preference is site stuff but that is cos I am nosy and want to see what they say

illinivich · 21/06/2025 11:04

Yes, its a bit rich coming from reddit where they campaigned to remove any subs that were feminist.

The problem the redditors have is that they cannot debate, they just dont know what it looks like.

They'll make a statement and see rebuttals as insults. It's why they have lots of illogical, conflicting 'truths' at once - nobody even on their own side can talk about any discrepancies. So when they immerge from reddit, they flounder when they speak to people who have debated and thought it through.

If you think there has always been one way of thinking on MN, try looking at old threads. Theres a progession of thought here.
