Greens internal drama warms up

New long article looking at the drama inside the Greens over biology suddenly existing again despite their best efforts.

How the Green Party forgot the environment and was torn apart by trans rows
It was a party united by a single mission – to save the planet. But now the gender identity debate has left it divided and in chaos

https://archive.is/TOlNx

The article is already out of date as Zack Polanski of hypnotic breasts fame has just launched a leadership bid against Deyner and Ramsey.

Emma Bateman
It's no secret that big boobs Polanski wants the top job. He is a student politics slogan churner, a self server who distains women and wants misgendering misdemeanours to be grounds for expulsion from the Greens.
He is "LGB with the T"
Still NO DEBATE!

Pro-women Greens article on his background:;

The existence of biology is likely to be a significant part of the leadership contest for sure so interesting to watch .

Ali Shahrar has launched another legal challenge against the Greens. Gardening needed.

May 27th is the date for Emma Bateman's legal hearing against the Greens.

On May 27th I am in court against Green Party in a case which will expose the contorted lengths the Greens go to in order to shut women up.

It isn't going to go well for the Greens given the Supreme Court ruling. This could be key moment in seeing the ruling's effect on politics and directly impact the leadership contest. It will also be probably be infuriating and hilarious in equal measure.

Just him or a co leader?

SionnachRuadh · 02/09/2025 12:24

BBC: Polanski beat joint candidates, the Green MPs Adrian Ramsay and Ellie Chowns, by 20,411 votes to 3,705.

Good grief. I thought he'd win, but not by that much.

ArabellaScott · 02/09/2025 12:25

That's the beginning of the end of the Green Party, then.

ArabellaScott · 02/09/2025 12:27

Mothin Ali deputy?

That's going to be interesting.

SionnachRuadh · 02/09/2025 12:35

Amazing, isn't it.

The Greens spend a generation gradually convincing voters that they're a sane and sensible party. Then they elect Ali G as their leader.

ArabellaScott · 02/09/2025 12:38

They really have fucked it.

We're going to need a new party for the environment.

EasternStandard · 02/09/2025 12:43

Polanski will work with the Corbyn party, not sure if it will be reciprocated. If it is they could easily take some more Labour votes.

Lalgarh · 02/09/2025 12:56

Corbyn party still deciding on a name so far

IllustratedDictionaryOfTheDoldrums · 02/09/2025 13:17

For those of you who are Greens, what are you going to do? Is it worth staying to continue voting and fighting for women?
I've stayed because the vote margins have been slim and I've hoped sense would end up winning in the end but thats a huge margin and TRAs are now in a number of key positions
I believe its down to an influx of new members? Not sure i want to keep paying towards Polanskis party! Is there any come back after this?

That's the beginning of the end of the Green Party, then.

I'd say more like the middle of the end, or coming to the end of the end.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 02/09/2025 13:36

That's a disaster for the environment and for women. So many years' work trying to get policies for a genuinely sustainable future on the mainstream agenda and when that matters more than ever the Greens vote for a cynical egomaniac.

Lalgarh · 02/09/2025 13:42

He was just interviewed with a Rapid Fire interview on World At One.

Nuclear or wind power? Wind

Can't remember the other ones apart from saying he likes Corbzy and Sultana and if ready to Collab, "even though they don't appear to have any policies" ouch

I think he meant they’re not decided yet?

Did you hear any answers on NATO or nuclear weapons as deterrent out of interest

I found the audio quality shoddy not sure why

cariadlet · 02/09/2025 14:14

Zack being elected is bad news for the remaining sensible Greens but just as bad are the results of the GPEx (Green Party Executive) elections.

Some sensible, hardworking people who were standing for re-election have lost out to rabid TRAs. The TRAs now have a stranglehold on power in the Party.

SionnachRuadh · 02/09/2025 14:30

So I think the question is, do the sensible members start preparing to secede, or do they prepare to take over what remains of the GP once Zack and/or his supporters have cleared off to join Your Party?

outofdate · 02/09/2025 14:45

We desperately need an ecology/environment party now as Polanski has no interest in either.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 02/09/2025 15:42

im sorry for mumsnetters who have fought so hard to keep some sanity in the Green Party but lol. I mean do they really think he'll appeal to a broader electorate? What a tragedy this has all been for environment

who's deputy?

Lalgarh · 02/09/2025 16:25

Edited.

Mothin Ali and someone else as co deputy leaders.

SionnachRuadh · 02/09/2025 16:32

Rachel Millward, who's co-leader of Wealden District Council. Don't know anything about her track record or whether she's sensible.

WhatterySquash · 02/09/2025 16:33

I'm actually quite surprised. Genderism isn't a new thing in the greens, it's been causing them huge problems, financial losses, scandals and reputational damage for years. It's being increasingly challenged legally and loads of people are fed up with it being given priority over things that organisations actually exist to do. So maybe naively I thought ZP would not be that popular.

I am a member and voted. I'll stay a member for the time being - as no other party is attracting me anyway as an economic lefty and green. If there was a strong, environment-focused, science-driven and economically socialist green party, that would be my natural home so I'll wait to see if it collapses, ZP flakes or has to resign for whatever reasons, or a new party forms. If a new environmental party that I can get on board with splinters off, I'd want to leave the GP to join that, and for that to register with them IYSWIM.

ArabellaScott · 02/09/2025 16:49

I was a member of both GPEW and the Scottish Green Party, but I think they are both irretrievably lost, now.

It's not just Polanski, it's that the membership appears to have been convinced by him. I assume they think that he's ambitious for the party, rather than, as I think will become clear in due course, for his own advancement.

Theeyeballsinthesky · 02/09/2025 16:56

Good grief. I thought she might just say the catechism, but from the sound of her she's just about to go out the door looking for a trans person to touch the hem of their garment and be healed.
