Ali Shahrar has launched another legal challenge against the Greens. Gardening needed.

May 27th is the date for Emma Bateman's legal hearing against the Greens.

On May 27th I am in court against Green Party in a case which will expose the contorted lengths the Greens go to in order to shut women up.

It isn't going to go well for the Greens given the Supreme Court ruling. This could be key moment in seeing the ruling's effect on politics and directly impact the leadership contest. It will also be probably be infuriating and hilarious in equal measure.

What sort of nitwit points to exclusively bimodal parameters to disprove a binary? It's not as though monomodal parameters (eg IQ, height) don't exist (not that they would disprove the binary, either) 🙄

Sort of ridiculous that the graphs being used by Natalie Bennet to demonstrate that there is no sex binary are divided into male and female categories - if sex is a continuum what would be the point of doing this?

Also surprised by the 'Mammary' category that appears to have two maxima for females - not immediately obvious why this should be.

In her favour, the article seems very fucking odd. It leads with a bold and startling claim, goes on to make reasonable/plausiblr observations in the body, and then appears to jump the shark.

It seems to be saying something to the effect that because both men and women have noses, and feet, and these noses and feet are just noses and feet, rather than specifically male/female noses and feet, sex is complicated and therefore women and men are not two distinct sexes.

Is that really what it's saying or have I had too much Sudafed?

Agreed, a very odd article

I read it as those parts of humans that have the same function between the two sexes have similar makeup but those associated with sexual reproduction are quite different.

It is not unreasonable that parts of the body not directly associated with sexual reproduction will have evolved differently in the two sexes - e.g. the female digestive system may adaptations that help to supply a developing child with sufficient nutrients.

None of this suggests that sex is anything other than binary

Why do they keep obsessing over “proving” that sex isn’t binary or is “complicated”? It makes them look like idiots as it’s so obvious these desperate attempts to co-opt actual scientific data are not driven by interest in or understanding of the facts, but by trying to find a way to make your bananas ideology look more convincing. It’s just like the way creationists put huge efforts into twisting science to pretend that humans and dinosaurs lived at the same time or the earth is only 6,000 years old. You believe in unevidenced bollocks - either own it, or if you care about the facts, abandon it but why make a total nincompoop of yourself by showing off how scientifically illiterate you are?

But also, why can’t they see that “sex is not binary” doesn’t help their argument anyway? Even if sex were a spectrum, or there were lots of sexes, that wouldn’t make it valid for someone to claim to be something they’re not, demand that group’s rights and appropriate their real experience. Just like it’s not ok with ethnicity, age etc.

And if sex is not binary, and gender is not binary, and it’s not right to say it is, what are “non-binary” people and why are they valid, special, “trans” or in any way different from anyone else?

This woman wanted to be in charge of the country.

It says a lot that she was elected by the party membership though.

I’m an ex-Green and I used to think Natalie Bennet was sensible. This wilful idiocy is so damaging to the Greens. No-one is going to trust them on science when they can’t even get the most simple things right - or realise the ‘proof’ they posted with that graph actually shows they’re wrong.

GWD are winning on X and will be a the conference to cause TA meltdowns.

What gets me is the average green voter is university level educated. And they can't read fucking graphs!

Years of experience, including a long stint in adult education, have taught me that many people are puzzled by graphs and misinterpret them more often than not, especially if their grasp of the underlying concept they are supposed to illustrate is weak. And given that a high proportion of the populace have a poor understanding of anything involving numbers (including those quite highly educated in other fields), that’s a lot of people.
Maths learned in school (if it was indeed learned) seems not to survive the transition to real life very often.

Those dodgy Liberal Democrat bar charts are more effective than we like to think.

I despise Natalie Bennett.

A few years ago, the Green Party Women commitee was split between GC women and TRAs.

The GCs, organised a speaker from Nordic Model Now to give a brief introduction to NMN via zoom to a GPW meeting at the Green Party Conference.

The TRA co-chair responded by organising a zoom panel event with several pro "sex work" speakers who supported the Green Party's policy of decriminalisation.

Natalie Bennett was one of the speakers.

Bet Natalie Bennett wouldn’t fancy sex work for herself. Another luxury belief.

By the way there is a profile of new leader Zack Polanski in the most recent issue of Private Eye.

Mainly on his time as a Lib dem. And his ability to convince groups with polar opposite views that he was completely Their Man, not realising he'd told everyone that. Whoever said that his hypnosis experience shouldn't be dismissed is definitely on to something
