Greens internal drama warms up

New long article looking at the drama inside the Greens over biology suddenly existing again despite their best efforts.

How the Green Party forgot the environment and was torn apart by trans rows
It was a party united by a single mission – to save the planet. But now the gender identity debate has left it divided and in chaos

https://archive.is/TOlNx

The article is already out of date as Zack Polanski of hypnotic breasts fame has just launched a leadership bid against Deyner and Ramsey.

Emma Bateman
It's no secret that big boobs Polanski wants the top job. He is a student politics slogan churner, a self server who distains women and wants misgendering misdemeanours to be grounds for expulsion from the Greens.
He is "LGB with the T"
Still NO DEBATE!

Pro-women Greens article on his background:;
https://concernedgreens.uk/watchlist/zack-polanski/

The existence of biology is likely to be a significant part of the leadership contest for sure so interesting to watch .

Ali Shahrar has launched another legal challenge against the Greens. Gardening needed.

May 27th is the date for Emma Bateman's legal hearing against the Greens.

On May 27th I am in court against Green Party in a case which will expose the contorted lengths the Greens go to in order to shut women up.

It isn't going to go well for the Greens given the Supreme Court ruling. This could be key moment in seeing the ruling's effect on politics and directly impact the leadership contest. It will also be probably be infuriating and hilarious in equal measure.

Because many people believe the environment is important and needs to be protected, and not a single other party is showing the slightest sign of giving a fuck.

Exactly. We're living through ecological crises, huge, pressing threats to us all, urgently in need of addressing and the one party that focused on these issues (and had some decent social policies) seems to be all about trans issues instead now.

And it's potentially undermining voters' trust in climate science.

cariadlet · 19/09/2025 18:10

There's now a petition against the GWD stall at the Green Party Conference.
https://you.38degrees.org.uk/petitions/stand-with-the-green-party-for-trans-liberation

Stonewall are also going to have a stall. I'm yet to see any GC members of the Green Party saying that Stonewall should be deplatformed.

Lalgarh · 19/09/2025 18:51

Meanwhile quite a lot of disaffected Trans inclusive lefties from the Sultana faction of Your Party are declaring they'll join the Greens

The resort to a petition indicates the failure of their attempt to stop the stall.

Lets see how this plays out. It could be the TAs may yet overplay their hand

It would be hilarious if Sultana joins the Greens and then screws up their chances.

I'm starting to believe Sultana is to the left what Carl Benjamin is to the right, political kryptonite for anyone dumb enough to allow her to join.

Noooooh!

I think, despite the election of old hypnoboobs, there's more of a chance of restoring sanity to the Green Party than there has been for a long time.

Why? They've been infiltrated by a load of disillusioned lefties who're not green and only really interested in the standard leftwing issues. I don't see any sign that the direction of travel has changed, although I'll be delighted if it does.

There are some signs that some people are starting to take the legal side more seriously; to recognise that the Party will lose upcoming legal cases and to understand that there will be more cases if the illegal discrimination carries on.

Zack and other TRAs still push identity politics and still want to silence women (and male allies) but they're not the only voices in the Party, even if they are the loudest.

NasturtiumsAreUnderrated · 19/09/2025 22:29

I hope you're right. It's a long road back to sanity and something approaching a genuine Green agenda and a lot of good people have been kicked out or left because they want to make a difference, not argue about basic biology. People who've decided to use their energy in other ways may not go back.

fromorbit · 20/09/2025 09:04

The fact Green's Women's Declaration is at the conference indicates that the TA grip is slipping.

Look at the Lib Dems for a parallel where things are a bit more advanced and they are locked into open debate this weekend.

Women defeated the TAs inside the Tories, inside Labour they are a shell of their previous power.

Reality is powerful. In open debate the TAs always lose it might take years, there will be set backs, but unless they can silence all the critics it can't last.

In the long-term I suppose I'm moderate hopeful about the defeat of the worst of the gender ideology-driven policies, but I wouldn't put it any stronger. There is a puzzlingly high level of blindness/resistance to GC arguments and even the simple safety-based, evidence-based case for single-sex spaces amongst highly educated lefties who don't have a scientific background. They hear and understand, but still can't bring themselves to acknowledge that sex-based rights should trump gender identity (and yet they react with absolute fury to the suggestion that they might be guilty of sexism...).

I'm even less optimistic about a return to a distinctively green, rather than leftie agenda. In some ways I'd have liked to see the Your Party project succeed and provide a home for socialists.

I'm no politician, but if I were, in the current political climate I'd be tempted to try to create a very different kind of Green party from Hypnoboobs's 'eco-populists' and from the radical party that produced the Manifesto for a Sustainable Society, because I don't think either of those approaches is the best way to win electoral support for green policies in the UK and get them implemented. But that's a debate for a very different thread...

Good news the TAs may be bringing in the most incompetent yet expensive lawyers money can buy. Supposedly they have already decided to try to ban GWD from conference.

A claim is being made on Reddit that The Green Party are meeting with the Good Law Project on Tuesday to discuss how to exclude GWDeclaration
and SexMattersOrg from their conference

Taking legal advice from foxkiller may work out costly for them…

And even among some who do have a background in science and should know better, e.g. Alice Roberts.

They should defo get the GLP to defend them in any further legal challenges.

Absolutely. That would be a perfect pairing. Please let this happen! Alternatively, I have some other suggestions...

Over in Your Party (many of whose aspiring members are TWAW and say they're joining the greens) Zara Sultana is taking advice from lawyers on alleged defamation by Team Corbyn, and it's hoped she might use them too

Jolyon and his minions will be busy!

I wondered why Jolyon had suddenly started banging on about Gaza, a subject he's never shown much interest in before.
