We’ve just had 3 ospreys fly low over us. The weird tilt rotor things that don’t know if they’re planes or helicopters. But we saw a real osprey a couple of days ago, carrying a fish over Loch Ness.

For anyone interested, we still have SIL with us. She and I had a helpful, if brief, conversation about her personal life this morning, but she was quickly back on form, talking across me, not listening and humming to herself in the back of the car. I could feel the waves of exasperation coming off DH as she hummed away, so I got her talking again (doesn't take much!)

But I don't mind being a mouse. Although the cat - 18 and with multiple heatlth problems including dementia - might be over interested in me? But as he forgets where he is when he's managed to get out of the garden over the fence and spends ages wailing loudly, I suspect he's forgotten some of those basic hunting instincts so I'd likely be quite safe.

No you're grand [as we say here] Swash - I just reckoned that if there was going to be a running Bluestocking joke about 'Marie Fancies Swash Somefing Rotten', it would be best for both parties to think that joke was actually funny and was something they wanted to play along with.
