These sporting groups really needed to get better legal advice. I really cannot see how Stonewall, and those advisory groups that were aligned and giving the same advice, can survive this.

so strange that the best resourced, most male dominated, sport would be so far behind the curve on this when the first other sports to get their house in order were taking the lead years back

I would suspect, as many wise women have repeatedly said on this board, that the insurance companies are realising that the SC judgement will mean big payouts if a man injures a woman so they are causing the reverse ferrets.

I wonder if that poor girl who got banned for asking if that player on the other team was a man will get any kind of apology.... obv not.

The smaller sporting codes should fall into line now as they can hide behind the FA, who are big enough to absorb the flak.

Statement

The Supreme Court’s ruling on the 16 April means that we will be changing our policy. Transgender women will no longer be able to play in women’s football in England, and this policy will be implemented from 1 June 2025.

I think the 6ft transmen will be getting some exercise. Although those on testosterone will be barred anyway. There's very little concern about how they'll get a game.

To state the obvious, this doesn't stop anyone from playing football. Some folx may have to satisfy themselves with a kickabout in the park. Or, they can eschew the FA and start their own trans/open leagues.

Poor old Tom Daley, who wanted trans woman to be able to play in any sports groups they felt most comfortable in will be crying into his knitting today.

Why didn't Tom Daley ever get a trans woman to be a surrogate for his children?
