Correct me if I'm wrong but haven't the SC recently said you shouldn't use the word women for men? Maybe we should let the BBC know.

Fantastic article from Oliver Brown in the Telegraph https://www.telegraph.co.uk/gift/3e6cbd781b8d1ae5

That is indeed a fantastic article.

While shopping online for a third surrogate child?

That child wouldn't be born from a transwoman anyway.

Binglebong · 01/05/2025 20:33

I've complained with this:

The Supreme Court has clarified that use of the word woman should only be used for biological women. People will therefore understand that the phrase Transgenger women refers to biological females, however the article is actually referring to males who wish to be women being banned from women's sport because they are men. Women (biological) who wish to be males are still very welcome.

I know that you would not wish to mislead the public so I am sure you will speed to correct this. Perhaps a glossary on these articles would be useful? Thank you.

It is truly hilarious to see TRAs having a meltdown about Sharron speaking about football - saying "it's not her sport" 😆

Pity they didn't think the same when they tried to take over the word "woman" and everything that goes with it

When was the interview, may I ask? Wouldn't mind listening back.

PM at 5pm, listenable on BBC Sounds. The segment is from around 31mins.

It's a great listen. Sharron is Girl on Fire.

Ooh! Back of the net!

I have to say I'm loving how things are going for women since 16th April.

Thank you Trina, Susan and Marion!

Beetles are still allowed to play though right?

Oh, thanks. I've listened to that. I meant the interview on Radio 5.

I am loving the Sharron Davies interviews. 10 years of campaigning and she is on fire ❤️‍🔥

She was just on Times radio with Late Orsay ( who I normally rate), Kate started asking what about in the amateur game trans women that she knows have been playing with no issues, Sharon responded, for them maybe not but what about the women who have been made to play alongside or against a man. She was on fire but Kate still
wouldnt have it and said it’s not fair on trans women to now have to play with men, Sharon asked well
what about all the women who have had to play with men all these years!
ots incredible how many people who are still beholden to the trans ideaology

SternJoyousBee · 01/05/2025 20:56

Sharon was brilliant! And the final point about organisations who polled their members was very powerful and underlined in bold by the lack of comment from the FA

rosemarble · 01/05/2025 21:17

Sharon was great. No beating about the bush at all

mumda · 01/05/2025 21:46

The BBC had someone on to say how sad they were about it. They have no where to play now.

I listened to this and was genuinely surprised by how biased Kate was (I normally rate her too). She spoke far more than an interviewer should, told Sharron off for stating completely truths and kept banging on at things from the angle of the poor men being upset/left out.

Sharron started to sound like she might lose her sh1t a bit and who can blame her!

The whole situation is ludicrous,.it should never have got to this point and as Sharron pointed out it is STILL being framed as a men's/trans rights issue.

They'll be happy with her giving her opinion the the none with William/Lia Thomas then?! The abuse Riley Gaines has suffered?

Hopefully mens teams will put aside their transphobia and homophobia and welcome these players into their teams now.

Is there any evidence that men have stopped trans or gay people playing in their teams?

Because from what I can see its all about the feelz that stops transwomen from playing in men's teams.

Gay men have been playing on men's teams for years.

Yes I was surprised too and she really tried to dress Sharon down, but failed.

Sharon Davies - taking no prisoners, what a 🌟!!!

Mollyollydolly · 01/05/2025 22:45

That interview with Evan Davies is just .. chef's kiss.
Sharron was fantastic.

The story is off the front page of BBC news I see.

The law from 2010, which was clarified 2 weeks ago is not law yet. I see.

India Willoughby has a pity party on X - says was a very good player in youth, and now plays on a woman's team and is weaker than the women, etc, etc.

India Willoughby is 59 years old.

How many women playing in that team at the same level do you think are late fifties?

Women in their late fifties were born before the FA lifted their ban on women playing football in 1971. So India's female contemporaries will not have had the opportunities to play football as a child that India did.
