I remember reading some non binary people saying that Welsh should change to suit their identity because it erased them, or something.

the irony being that, as @cardibach has pointed out, in Wales, if prescribed (and available!) they would get HRT for free.

which does tend to support the view that a large number of the same people seem to be bussed in and 'do the rounds' of all the various marches (and assimilate various causes together) rather than being an organic gathering of people who actually live there.

@ArtificialFlower all prescriptions are free on the NHS in Wales. Our waiting lists are utterly shit though, so personally I'd rather pay the comparatively small amount and not wait 5 years for surgery, but Welsh Labour keep pushing it as a win.

What we need to do now is get on with our lives with the SC clarification as the reality that it is and we live by.

Just carrying on as biological females and ignoring all the crap, and reporting it sensibly and calmly when that definition isncrossed so we have a paper trail, as FWS did, will drive them ABSOLUTELY crazy!

Ignore, boycott, challenge, maliciously comply where necessary, and live our lives, ladies :)

The vast majority of people in Cardiff (and Swansea, where I am) can't speak Welsh. It's not just people who come in from outside Wales.

While we're taught it in school, most of us are no better at it than we are at French, we've forgotten it all by the time we're 20. You only really get high levels of Welsh spoken outside of the majority cities.

Do you not get tired of looking for something to be offended/outraged/upset by? Are women not allowed to laugh amongst ourselves now? Maybe if they stopped making themselves ridiculous we would stop finding them funny.

This is just the current attenpt at men trying (and I'll emphasise TRYING!!) to control women.

Won't work, and in this media age we can document it all so the generations of girls and women to come can know what we did, whether big or small, to defend our sex and, hopefully, be emboldened to rally and defend themselves when (unfortunately) the next attempt comes.

Oh, we know this. As one example, a ginger bloke with a ponytail popped up in photos from the JamJar Siege in Bristol, having been filmed at the Speakers' Corner incident where Tanis Wolf punched Maria M. It's a rent-a-mob, the same ones everywhere.

They complained about Welsh being a grammatically gendered language.

It has two genders, masculine and feminine, like French - it has no neuter like German or Old English. So a chair is feminine and a table is masculine or feminine depending on the word used.

Apparently this is s crime against their rights.

But also, language gender isn't the same. It's to do with how you pronounce the words.

In English we don't have it, butcwe do use it:

"The pear" - Thuh pear

"The apple" Thee apple.

These entitled idiots are banking on intimidation and accusations of hate etc to reasoned logic.

They are not even trying to keep the quiet bit hidden.

They want to leverage themselves into any issue they can.

I think what we are seeing in the comments is a bunch of people who are suddenly being exposed to the actual aggression and illogic of the movement. They thought it was all fluffy 'trans rights are human rights' (which everyone knows and agrees with) and are now seeing that it also includes some very unhinged and disturbed messages, like 'kill terfs' etc.

Must be quite unnerving.

Don't be giving the current Welsh Labour Government any ideas, they're daft enough to do it.

One more thing to add to the list of fantastically stupid excuses for acting like an utter fuckwit.

It's like arguing with my eight-year-old granddaughter, who seems for some reason to think that the Earth is flat, that scientists make everything up, and that scientists are also preventing people from visiting the Antarctic because there is another world there that they are hiding from us.

At least with a child, they can find out soon enough that their beliefs are silly and wrong, and they aren't harming other people by holding those silly, wrong beliefs.

I wonder whether they have any concept of what it is like to be gay, lesbian, or gender-non-conforming - let alone trans! - in the Middle-East, Arab or Asian countries?

I wonder whether they have any idea where the largest Pride in the whole of the Asian continent is held? Israel.

The Italian for "a non-binary person" is "una persona non binaria".
'Persona' being grammatically feminine, and so also having the feminine form of the adjective, whatever the sex of the person in question.

And you have that reference in the Italian media to Eliot Sumner "l'attrice britannica non binaria".
'Actrice' being feminine and meaning 'actress' (the masculine equivalent is 'attore') and followed by the feminine forms of the adjectives meaning 'British' and 'non-binary'.

there's actually a comparatively high level of Welsh in Cardiff because so many jobs are based there that require (or at least prefer) Welsh - the senedd, the welsh govt, bbc wales, s4c, etc. There are some very welsh-y enclaves in Pontcanna, for example, many of whom work in welsh media. Approximately 1/6th of all schools in Cardiff are welsh language (at all levels).

In the last census Cardiff actually had the biggest increase in welsh speakers out of every local authority in the whole country.

Then there will of course be other people who aren't fluent but wouldn't be classed as 'non-welsh speakers' either.

Still a minority but not a 'vast' majority either.
