a list of men or companies who have stood up for us

Like so many here, I have been disheartened by the lack of support from so many famous men, those I liked and or admired are now and will forever be in my blacklist. Same for companies.
This whole experience has been so hard and I thank all the incredible women who carried on and spoke for us...
However, who are the men who were on our side? Andrew Neil? Piers Morgan? There aren't many but would love to hear some names of those who put women first...

Ooh yes I remember David TC Davis being a really staunch supporter way back when.

Richard Garside
Michael Biggs
Ben Cooper KC
Justin Webb

Yes to all above. And Justin Webb was absolutely brilliant - especially as Nick Robison was utterly disgusting about it all. Will never forgive him.

I've never voted Conservative, but I have to give credit to the Tory MSPs (Russell Findlay, Murdo Fraser et al.) who have been the voice of reason in Scottish politics. No idea what they're like as people, but I admire their backbone, that so many others at Holyrood lack.

I seem to remember Boy George rolling his eyes at women implying what a load of fuss just to go for a wee. Correct me if i’m wrong though. I went right off him!

BernardBlacksMolluscs · 20/04/2025 19:52

extremely honourable mention for James Kirkup at The Spectator

Brendan O'Neil weirdly (did not see that coming)

Mwnci123 · 20/04/2025 19:52

Those mentioned plus Francis Wheen, Nick Wallis, Robert Webb, Darren Johnson, John Armstrong, Ross Tucker, Sean Ingle, Irvine Welsh, Ricky Gervais.

Dr AZ Hakeem is well worth watching on YouTube. He's just released a video.

He's been a consultant psychiatrist specialising in trans issues for over 20 years.

Gosh yes Ross Tucker. Absolutely amazing.

Boy George on male inclusion in female sport spouted some old shit about being confused because of individual differences in ability within the sexes. Easily confused apparently.

Joe Bangles (who asks everyone their favourite cheese on twitter) takes a good bit of heat for standing up for women

SameyMcNameChange · 20/04/2025 19:58

Sir Bernard Jenkin

Mwnci123 · 20/04/2025 19:58

I think David Chapelle's comedy shifted the Overton window for some men I know.

Matt Bristow (plus other GIDS whistleblowers) and Jessie Singal stuck up for the kids ultimately.

Tom Holland (historian)

I hadn't realised that Tom Holland had spoken up for women. I love The Rest Is History so I'm very glad to hear this.

Tim Pitt-Payne KC

SameyMcNameChange · 20/04/2025 19:59

Also Rishi Sunak. Not nearly as much as some on here but he did set a clear tone.

RickyBobbysKFC · 20/04/2025 20:01

David TC Davies ex Monmouthshire MP. Was one of the very first MPs to listen to women many years back.
