Hints at homophobia inherent in this 👍

sweetsardineface · 16/04/2025 10:08

’certified sex’

OvaHere · 16/04/2025 10:08

Just quickly skimmed the last couple of pages. Fantastic news but I'll never get over that the question of women and girls existing had to go to the Supreme Court. Insanity!

Jerabilis · 16/04/2025 10:08

The Supreme Court has just defended lesbians' rights to exclude all males, however they identify. Am in tears listening to this 🥰

cornishatheart · 16/04/2025 10:08

he specifically cited single sex changing rooms

EasternStandard · 16/04/2025 09:48

Is this being streamed somewhere?

Sky… hopefully common sense will win out.

bignosebignose · 16/04/2025 10:09

Rejoice!

tobee · 16/04/2025 10:09

😊

Mochudubh · 16/04/2025 10:09

Trans people haven't lost any rights under the judgement, they're still protected under the EA..Ooh, that's a stinger.

macaroonmayhem · 16/04/2025 10:09

“Definition of woman by Scottish Gov is incorrect” - no shit Sherlock. Can’t wait to see Scot Gov comment on this 🤡

cornishatheart · 16/04/2025 10:10

an amazing outcome

Igmum · 16/04/2025 10:10

OMG I need a break now but might take a peek on Twitter. Loved Helen Joyce, Maya Forstater and the SM gang hugging each other on the front row

it is a fundamental principle with the English lawyers, that Parliament can do every thing, except making a Woman a Man, or a Man a Woman.

I think we won? Legal Eagles needed to interpret please.

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 16/04/2025 10:11

Who’s cutting onions?! What a fantastic result. Really didn’t think it would go that way.

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 16/04/2025 10:11

So it seems that common sense has prevailed. Well done to the Supreme Court judges!

Mochudubh · 16/04/2025 10:12

Catriona Renton looking a bit choked up on BBC news just now, not sure which way though.

Never quite clear cut

But better than I was hoping

outofdate · 16/04/2025 10:12

Omg!

MrsOvertonsWindow · 16/04/2025 10:12

OMG! The clearest possible legal statement about women's rights & identity with a clear calling out of how trans people are fully protected by the pc of gender reassignment. This means that the intrusion of men with a certificate into women's legally mandated spaces must stop. Brilliant

myplace · 16/04/2025 10:12

Well done you persistent, determined, ungaggable women witches! Thank you all for every argument wrung and twisted to perfection, for discussion, debate and downright quarrelsome doggedness to identify what matters.

And flowers for all of you who have paid a high price for it, as I know you have.

HappilySquare · 16/04/2025 10:12

Fantastic ruling. I can't quite believe it - I could hardly bear to listen. Sharon Davis being an amazing, intelligent, informed and determined commentator on GB news. Her response was very measured but no doubt she wanted to scream Hallelujah!

I'd love to be a fly on the wall at nhs Fife

Ooh yes, what a warming thought on this cold and windy morning

YesYesAllGood · 16/04/2025 10:12

🙌🏼

Olderbadger1 · 16/04/2025 10:13

Hadn't realised how bloody stressed I was about this until I started listening to the judgment. Still shaking. Is it too early for a gin?
