Is there any future you'd accept for trans people?

1000 replies

AYoungTransWoman · 17/03/2025 12:46

Hello, I'm a young trans person who transitioned in my teens. I've been on hormones my entire adult life, have a GRC and will have Gender Reassignment Surgery imminently.

Is there any future you would accept for people like me who have gone through everything?

Good grief. "Women, statistically, are not unkind"

Where did you come up with this pollyanna bollocks?

I note you then listed physical characteristics of abuse, no mention of mental abuse.

Is there a female equivalent?

Or how about?

Please show me the figures for all the men killed by women last year. I’ll wait.

EdithBond · 17/03/2025 19:33

I hope your future is whatever you want it to be ❤️

35 years ago I was hanging out in the ladies loos with (and cadging make up off) trans women in clubs and free parties. Not a big deal to me in the slightest.

I just moved out of a very LGBTQ friendly area and I honestly hadn’t realised how many people still had issues with it…

Women have an issue with MEN being in our spaces, TIM’s, gay men, straight men, queer men, anyone who is a man, no matter what they say they are or how they ‘identify’. It’s simply that.

It can't work.

The sex specific needs you may have or risks you may present are real world outcome of the sex you are, not the theoretical consequece of what a piece of paper says.

The physical and social consequences of body sex are real and do not get legislated away simply because the law agreed your sex has changed so the idea that a legal sex can override your actual sex is a logical and ethical failure.

A GRC may have meaning in law but it is meaningless in any real, moral sense. It can force others to allow you cross-sex rights and access but it cannot create or take away the actual need for them because that is tied to your true sex.

Edited

Yeah, I agree, pretty much. But the OP asked what we'd accept, not what's ideal, and I think we have to be realistic. This stuff isn't going to go backwards; we're not going to have a reversal in law that stops anyone legally changing sex. That's already here; the debate now is just on what terms it should be allowed.

And how old were you? Do you think it is fine for teenage girls to be forced to shower and change with males too?

BinWim · 17/03/2025 19:35

Yes of course women feel threatened by transwomen, because they’re men.

Why the fuck do people think we have single sex facilities and areas in the first place?

Some people are getting very rich off the back of this delusion, and some are irrevocably harmed. It's a tragedy and a scandal.

I remember watching a documentary about trans people and there was one bit that really stuck with me. There was a private clinic in London that was running classes for transwomen to teach them how to speak in a more female way so they could pass as women. All of the attendees were paying huge sums for these classes as they said they felt their voices were the barrier to them passing. But every single one of them was visually very obviously male, and I'm autistic and suffer from face blindness and even I could tell. I felt so sad for them, in the same way as I do when I watch Scam Interceptors and hear someone being deceived and fleeced.

Why wouldn't it go backwards? Bad laws and practices are revised all the time.

A lot of heterosexual women are very threatened by trans women.this is probably not the best site to hear other women's opinions as the very strong sisterhood subscribers don't want their club disrupted.

Women object to men threatening them, its true.

They never pass. It’s immediately obvious.

I have met, worked with, and associated with dozens of transwomen who believe they pass. They don’t 99.9% of the time.

r/transpassing both proves this, and shows why they believe they do pass. They’re all lying to each other.

It is apparent that many people seem to assume that a GRC does somehow imply a change of sex. Clearly it doesn’t, therefore whatever the “legal” implications of a GRC it should not qualify a male bodied person, however modified, to access female spaces, nor for the same reason a female bodied person, however modified, to access male spaces.

Edited

I don't know why you're putting legal in quotes; laws are laws whether we agree with them or not.

I agree; they shouldn't. But the question is, how should this be enforced / administered? It's very hard to see how it could be. If a bio male is legally female, he isn't required to disclose the truth to anyone ever again. So how should we stop him gaining access to female spaces? I do think we should; but I really can't see how.

When I go swimming, I happily get fully changed on the beach under a towel a few feet away from the nearest male.

I do however have the self knowledge to understand that I'm picking the beach, the time of day I swim, the company I swim with, and I'm making my own choice. I understand that other women have different experiences and need single sex services, and in different circumstances, without the privilege of choice, so do I.

Yes! Let’s all do away with sex segregated safeguarding measures because a poster was cadging make up off trans women 35 years ago in the ladies loos and because it doesn’t matter to them, it shouldn’t matter to anyone else 😂. Sorted!

How White Women Use Themselves as Instruments of Terror

"We often like to make white supremacy a testosterone-fueled masculine expression, but it is just as likely to wear heels as a hood. Indeed, untold numbers of lynchings were executed because white women had claimed that a black man raped, assaulted, talked to or glanced at them. The Tulsa race massacre, the destruction of Black Wall Street, was spurred by an incident between a white female elevator operator and a black man. As the Oklahoma Historical Society points out, the most common explanation is that he stepped on her toe. As many as 300 people were killed because of it. The torture and murder of 14-year-old Emmett Till in 1955, a lynching actually, occurred because a white woman said that he "grabbed her and was menacing and sexually crude toward her". This practice, this exercise in racial extremism has been dragged into the modern era through the weaponizing of 9-1-1, often by white women, to invoke the power and force of the police who they are fully aware are hostile to black men. This was again evident when a white woman in New York's Central Park told a black man, a bird-watcher, that she was going to call the police and tell them that he was threatening her life."

Okay. When i said 'unkind' I was being tongue in cheek. What I meant was we are not the violent sex, nor the sex that commits 99% of sexual assaults and abuse. (These stats are very well worn, but I can find them if you wish.)

I had thought the sarcasm in my post was obvious, but there you go.

The same way that you stop people 'heavy petting' in the pool/adults hogging the children's swings/people jumping the queue at the supermarket.

Creating an expectation and relying on the social contract.
