Yep, it's a good old DM article I'm afraid.

Being a man was too much hard work, so I became a woman: Inside the transmaxxing trend where men swap gender to get 'female' benefits like cheaper car insurance, free meals and sex | Daily Mail Online

I've not started a post in this section before, so apologies but I saw the headline and thought it would be one to share. "Transmaxxing" is a thing in incel culture and I know has been discussed here before. So yeah, being a woman is also now meaning you have failed at being a man 😡

Not going to read the article, but just the headline has made me feel there aren't enough eyerolls in the world.

Mumofteenandtween · 26/02/2025 13:06

I haven’t read the article but the car insurance is a load of bollocks. Gender neutral pricing for insurance came in on 21st December 2012.

Soontobe60 · 26/02/2025 13:09

I find it hilarious that straight men who are failing at being men think that things will suddenly change for the better if they pretend to be women. That the men who are willing to have sex with them do so because they see them as now being women, when in reality they are men who’ve hidden their gayness and still see the TWs as men!

PaterPower · 26/02/2025 13:09

There are some incredibly deluded people in this world.

You can boil that article down to: sad basement dwellers looking to have a “high value man” (presumably a gay man) step in and make life easier for them.

MarieDeGournay · 26/02/2025 13:10

Yeah it's so much easier to be a woman, isn't it🙄

Only if you're not a real woman with a female body.

DeanElderberry · 26/02/2025 13:17

If these men can get me cheaper car insurance let them have at it!

Plasmodesmata · 26/02/2025 13:18

Haven't read the article, but my life would have been easier in various ways if I'd been a man.

FionnulaTheCooler · 26/02/2025 13:18

To quote from the article "Additionally, the document also argues that transitioning to become a woman makes dating 'easier' as there are more people who could be romantically interested in them".

Is this actually true? I would have thought statistically there would be far less men will to date a transwoman and it would make it harder to find someone.

BiologicalRobot · 26/02/2025 13:27

They include cheaper car insurance, free meals and an all-round 'easier' life once you've bagged a 'high-value' man - i.e. someone who is wealthy and attractive, thereby making them 'deeply desirable'.

Grifters gonna grift. See it all the time on the Relationship board where it's threads upon threads about useless and lazy men. Now women are starting to fight back and kick these wasters out the new/younger generations have just found another way.

selffellatingouroborosofhate · 26/02/2025 13:31

They can have my endometriosis if they like. Oh wait...

Cocklodgers gonna cocklodge. At least they are doing it to other men now.

I think it possibly is easier from an incel pov - they have zero chance with women. What I don't quite understand is that surely as incels they are straight men?

LOVE the heading.
Didn't realise my life was so easy.

Of course getting cheaper car insurance COULD be down to me being a better driver than a man - and losing his dick isn't going to improve "his" driving!

sunbum · 26/02/2025 13:34

Absolute bollocks as well. Cheaper car insurance for women stopped years ago as it was deemed discriminatory, despite 75pc of road fatalities in the UK being caused by male drivers.

sunbum · 26/02/2025 13:37

These people are deluded and, as ever, it actually comes back to the fact that they actually hate women.

https://www.hastingsdirect.com/car-insurance/womens-car-insurance/ :

In a word, no. There used to be dedicated car insurance for women offering a discount for female drivers. However, a 2012 legal challenge resulted in an EU ruling that the practice was discriminatory. Insurers then stopped their discounted policies for women drivers and post-Brexit, the UK still follows this ruling.

Aww- hope he’s coping with the heavy periods, fluctuating hormones etc. Childbirth too- oh, and the demands of being a mum, but still having to go back to work. I still remember the leaking boobs, and crying because I missed my baby…
Never mind, I’m menopausal now, so I don’t have to worry about that anymore…. deep joy.

Jeeekers · 26/02/2025 13:45

Being a loser is too much hard work.

EnchantedForestNearTheRiver · 26/02/2025 13:49

There is no lower value man than a man who thinks he’s a woman.

Chersfrozenface · 26/02/2025 13:50

The DM is having a great time making fun of "transmaxxers" while keeping an ostensibly straight face.

Remember, well over half its readers are female.

Gets loads of clicks, too.

No, 'transitioning to a woman' doesn't make dating or finding a partner easier. There was some work done on this (I hesitate to call it research a survey maybe) a few years ago which found the opposite - transwomen have fewer romantic partners and find it difficult to attract anyone.

The author of the article caused outrage hereabouts when she said 'this must end'. WTAF? We're supposed to find TW attractive regardless of any - ahem - shortcomings? Jog on, dear.

Mrsbloggz · 26/02/2025 13:57

Free sex!?
Good luck with that mate, no one that you want to have sex with is going to want to do it with you.

I'd have thought the same as you - a huge narrowing of the potential dating pool.

I suspect it's a mix of fantasy and contempt towards actual women.

Wasn't that the exact same date that we were told for years in advance that the world was going to end?

I can't remember if it actually did, mind...

I agree - it makes no sense. Assuming these men are incels, who have decided life is too hard being a man. So they dress up as a woman - and if they do it well and look good, then yes, there'll be people want to have sex with them. But those people will be men. Which isn't what they wanted, is it?
Or maybe they'll try and pretend they're lesbians, in order to persuade lesbian women to have sex with them. But the fundamental flaw in that plan is that lesbian women find women attractive, not men in dresses.
I can't see how it'll work!

JasmineAllen · 26/02/2025 14:12

IMO the only way this could be a thing would be in homophobic countries/cultures where the TW becomes a successful gay man's 'beard' while actually being a gay couple. Ie, not really a beard in the true sense of the word as they're both men.

Otherwise it's pretty much a non starter for obvious reasons.
