Imane Khelif not eligible to compete in boxing world championships 2025

The IBA is sticking with its rules and Khelif failed its 'gender eligibility tests'. The writer of the article shows remarkably little concern with saying what a 'gender eligibility test' involves and that it shows Khelif is male.

Article in the Guardian today is totally Guardian. Not even going to bother to link it

Khelif's latest publicity drive is having lots of coverage last day or so in Guardian and elsewhere.

Only it is a lie. He is not going to LA in 2028.

In fact he is not going to go through on any legal challenge over his sex test status at all. He has been saying he is going to court 10 months now. Remember JKR was going to be sued? Only nothing happens.

However lets not get too upset about it. Khelif is a peaking machine the more he claims to be a woman the more he proves he isn't.

Of course he likes arguing with Trump. Men love aggressing and challenging each other. Only in this case Trump is going to win very very easily because Khelif is even more bluster than him.

Just go to court. Prove your biology! Only you can't!

IBA absolutely welcomes Imane Khelif’s intention on legal actions that would allow to reveal the gender test results

At some point over the next three years even the liberal media are going to go wait why hasn't Khelif done the simple easy action of doing a sex test. They are going to look very very stupid. When that happens ordinary people will go... looks like all those pesky woman who say women exist and should have their own sports were right AGAIN!

It's not up to the orange baboon.

That said, if boxing is even included in the next Olympics, it's highly unlikely to be on the same terms as 2024. Word is the IOC's stance at the time was due to a quid pro quo with Algerian Olympic powerbrokers willing to support a (now mooted) potential third term for Thomas Bach. For 2028, boxing is supposed to be handed over to its own regulatory body once universal recognition for one has been achieved.

It’s actually completely up to him. There will be no men or men with sexual disorders competing.

Helleofabore · 19/03/2025 08:33

But fromorbit, Khelif is milking Khelif’s time in the spotlight. Because if Khelif can get just a few very well publicised professional bouts in, it will set Khelif up for the next phase. Khelif has been presented as a fashion icon, a girl’s ambassador and more already. And hasn’t had to enter a bout since the Olympics. ( Incidentally, no one is questioning whether any of the female boxers would have been invited to fashion events and other glittering opportunities. )

I agree, I think it is just spin. I think there will be one or two hugely profitable professional bouts and then that is it. Unless someone sues Khelif, I doubt we will get answers. And I doubt Khelif will go through with suing anyone.

TheKeatingFive · 19/03/2025 08:45

I don't think this has much to do with Trump, really. They'd have had to change tack anyway, because they cannot have a repeat of 2024 and they know it.

Viviennemary · 19/03/2025 08:49

I read on here a while back there is no such thing as inter sex. I thought there was. So surely it is quite straightforward to determine a person's sex. And nobody male should be competing in any women's event.

There is, of course, the group of body types that are labelled ‘differences in sex development’. The term intersex is not used anymore except, it seems, to be by lobby groups and support groups who wish to use it.

But you are absolutely right. With modern technology, all people can be categorised as being male or female. Or for the sake of sport, all people can be categorised into male or female and those male people who do not process the testosterone they produce, and who at the moment can compete in female sports.

Myalternate · 19/03/2025 09:02

Intersex is not a polite or accurate term. No one is between sexes. They’re either male or female but may have a Disorder of Sexual Development that doesn’t make it immediately obvious. That’s what I understand it to be but there are much more knowledgeable posters that can explain it better.

⬆️. and up there is one of the very best on this subject!

You are absolutely right.

A simple cheek swab would clear this all up in no time at all.

Khelif could release the results of the tests that have already been administered. Or take an independent test and make those results known,

Khelif has chosen not to take any of these very simple steps.

The world's human population is so vast (past 8bn and counting) that there at least might be the very odd, vanishingly rare, individual out there who might plausibly, if probably not strictly correctly, be described as 'intersex'.

But conditions such as the one Semenya have are relatively common and couldn't even halfway accurately be described as 'intersex'. Semenya is a male with a few male bits missing, and no female bits at all, not one.

The suggestion is that IK has a very similar condition, but neither IK nor the IOC will address this suggestion directly, instead preferring to drivel out a load of rubbish about birth certificates and whatnot.

Ahhh, but puffy, even those with streak gonads can be categorised now. No one is between the sexes so to speak.

I saw someone on social media say that intersex has now become used by political activism groups. I don’t know why they choose to stay with the term rather than DSDs. I remember Claire (I think they were Clair AIS on other media) coming to FWR to tell us to use DSDs or VSD. I will see if I can find the link they provided.

As far as I can tell with Semenya, it's a case of the male bits "hiding" rather than "missing". Semenya talks about having internal testicles - apparently with 5-ARD they sometimes descend at puberty and sometimes don't.

Again apologies if I've already posted it on this thread but I found the brilliantly written (by the brilliant Michael Moseley 😓) BBC article on "guevedoces" really helpful in getting by head around this particular DSD. That's the colloquial name for the condition Semenya and others who were misidentified at birth as female have got. Even the translation of the name is helpful - it means "penis at twelve". In other words the penis will definitely grow, thanks to the natural puberty that kicks off at the same time as other boys, but the testicles may still remain internal.

It can't be easy growing up with this. But my sympathy drops off a cliff when someone knows that they have it yet insists that they should be in women's sports. Sod that.

@BonfireLady agree with all that, though there might be some other differences, like I don't think Semenya (or IK) has anything close to typical male facial hair growth.

Apparently, sparse facial hair could be a commonality. But the big things that gives these athletes away is their skeletal movements and proportions. Their hip movements and knee shape. Knees are dependant on the q angles from those hips.

As they say, those hips do not lie.

They both have visible masculinisation.

NotBadConsidering · 19/03/2025 10:00

5HT plays a role in body hair growth, and also male pattern baldness. Neither Semenya or Khelif will go bald. Because they don’t have DHT, not because they aren’t male, of course.

A FISH analysis of karyotype takes about 24-48 hours to do. Yet it’s been 7 months since the Olympics ended and Khelif and Ting are yet to take a test that could have cleared up all this within days.

Or maybe they did take the test, and the Russians hacked the lab computer and altered the result 🤔

Helleofabore · 19/03/2025 10:06

Thanks Notbad

SinnerBoy · 19/03/2025 10:25

Kelif doesn't need a cheek swab, he's already had two blood tests, in different countries. He could just release them, but it's vanishingly unlikely that will do, willingly.

There may have been. But overall, the onslaught of opinion and trial by social media tilted primarily to one side shows otherwise.

Left-wing troll farms exist, but aren’t anywhere as common and organised as right-wing ones.

You do realise that putin is a communist and wants to rebuild the former USSR, China is communist how much more left wing can you get? Yet you seem to be implying that there bots are right wing 🤔🤣
The left wing bots are certainly the most prolific bots and numerous.
Please try harder your misinformation is showing along with your bias

I think this comes back to the 'everyone I don't like is a Nazi' school of critical thinking. 🫠

Sorry … Putin is a Communist? Russia is left wing? This made me laugh. Seriously. And you say I’m giving out misinformation. 🙄

Didn't Mark Zuckerberg admit several times he was supressing anything that the Biden admin team wanted supressed? So if you think the So Called Left are innocent in all this then you are ridiculously deluded.
