I feel your pain - my 2 month old phone is also a bit mad for autocarrot.

FeralWoman · 17/05/2025 11:55

He’s raised $80k now. Goal upped from $70k to $120k, with an ultimate goal of $3mil. Guess that’s to pay Deeming $2.6mil and have some for his own legal costs.

SlackJawedDisbeliefXY · 17/05/2025 12:09

Is there a level of donation where the crowd funder service charges exceed the donation?

I'm up for donating a bit less than that

BezMills · 17/05/2025 12:16

He's never getting 3 million. His FAFO Fund will top out at 150k dollabucks, 250k tops.

Sad trombone noise

TheSandgroper · 17/05/2025 12:23

According to The Age this morning, Sue Chrysanthou is eyeing up going after his donors.

I don’t know how it all works but I assume it would involve presenting to the Court (ie making public) financial information that those donors would prefer not to be made public presented to the Court?

Ereshkigalangcleg · 18/05/2025 10:39

Haha 😂

FeralWoman · 18/05/2025 13:49

There’s actually quite a few funny donor names. They include Seymour Butts, Reuben Z Clitz, Vote libs out, Vote Greens Protect native flora and fauna, Robodebt and sports rorts Lib lies, Ivana Tinkle, and Danielle Laidley’s Knackers.

There’s also apparently donations from Roxy Tickle, Angie Jones, Moira Deeming, Josh Frydenburg, Peter Dutton, Plymouth Brethren and Thomas Sewell (head of the Aus neo Nazis).

For $5 people are amusing themselves.

He’s closing in on $120k in donations.

Boiledbeetle · 18/05/2025 19:31

I really really want to believe that Moira actually did donate $5! That would be so funny!

princessleah1 · 18/05/2025 20:49

he's got some massive donations! If that was Moira D getting the same money there'd be accusations of far right funders etc.

BezMills · 18/05/2025 22:19

The fun thing is, the money isn't for him. It's money spent or owed by Moira defending her good name against his campaign of libel shit talk. He either pays her costs or loses his assets, credit rating and what is left of his career.

So sad. Kind of a big fuckin rake you sttod on there mate, nose a bit sore is it?

FeralWoman · 19/05/2025 03:21

$117k, and the goal has been increased to $500k.

FeralWoman · 19/05/2025 13:02

Oh yuck, Pesutto is on the tv. He’s on ABC’s Q+A tonight. It’s also known as Qanda. It’s a news and political panel show where the public can ask questions of them.

Oh yes, a feminist just asked him a question! About 20 mins into the show. Question was about how he handled Deeming, women, etc. He made excuses and kept using the questioner’s name like he did with “Your Honour” in court. Fucking annoying.

FWIW the host is very much on board with TQ+ and gender ideology.

Pesutto’s large legal bill has been mentioned a few times. Crowd funder is up to $128k.

He’s attempting to be humble and relatable. Piss off.

Episode should be online in about 30 mins once it’s finished screening live.

Q+A

Patricia Karvelas leads the conversation as citizens put their questions to local and international politicians and thought leaders. Q+A brings together a range of guests to debate the big issues affecting Australians.

I wonder what is the rate of pay for the gig? I have just scrolled through the Fair Work media and arts allowances pdf and can’t see where talking heads fit.

FeralWoman · 19/05/2025 14:07

@TheSandgroper It can’t be much being the ABC. I figured that he probably agreed to go on to attract fundraising.

TheSandgroper · 19/05/2025 14:14

I’ve just started watching.

Type into google Four Corners trans. They did an article in 2023 led by PK and there is also an article about how and why 4C went about it. I will watch the program again (I must have watched it at the time) in a few days.

@FeralWoman $2.3m debt has a way of concentrating the mind. Let me roll my eyes. I wonder what his wife has had to say.

Ffs. Dave Sharma saying members shouldn’t sue each other for defamation. She shouldn’t have been defamed!

He has taken advantage of his platform, that’s for sure.

Typical. I wonder if he thinks female politicians/staffers shouldn't have sought justice for other crimes when perpetrated within the party...

TheSandgroper · 20/05/2025 03:42

After watching Pesutto last night Ishtar, I can see why the Libs really want him. He was really impressive when talking about Anything Else.

But, Geez, didn’t PK go on and on about His Troubles.

I didn't watch it, but yes, it is a shame that an otherwise competent leader would choose to lie and defame a colleague and ultimately torpedo his own career and finances. The level of incompetence and dishonesty by many party members genuinely surprised me, e.g. relying on wikipedia research, almost nobody seemed to have actually read important documents or engaged in critical thinking, or considered honesty as even a possible approach etc. I would be deeply disappointed if my colleagues acted this way, and they not aiming to run a State.

Maaate · 20/05/2025 08:52

Hold up.... In bizarroworld doesn't that make JP funded by Nazis and therefore a very bad thing?

(Doesn't matter if it's a random having a laugh i.e. completely untrue - isn't that how it works these days?)

FeralWoman · 20/05/2025 12:27

@Maaate Oh, very true! I have the screenshot if anyone wants it.

I continue to be amused by the names of donors. I’m curious if there a Cynthia involved with Pesutto. There’s been donors named Cynthia’s Magic Underwear and Cynthia’s hedge trimming services. Sex scandal perhaps? Secret identity as a drag queen? Google hasn’t been helpful.

Unsurprisingly the ABC interviewed Pesutto yesterday. Guess it was easy if he was at the studio anyway for Qanda. It’s mostly about how he has to get the money to pay Deeming. Woe is me, I’m innocent type of crap.

Here’s some screenshots of funny donor names. The Cormack Foundation is mentioned in the ABC article.

$145k now.

I'm assuming $5 is the minimum donation. Can you withdraw your pledge after you've made your point/had your fun?

"The federal court registrar Alison Legge handed down the decision during a short hearing on Friday"... "Pesutto’s lawyers had argued the costs should be closer to $1.8m and sought to have donations to Deeming considered.
But Legge said the money “gifted or lent to Ms Deeming” was “not relevant” to her decision, which depended on whether the claimed legal costs matched what the MP owed to her lawyers, and whether those costs were fair and reasonable.
She said the costs reflected the scale of the defamation proceeding, which involved senior and junior counsel, 19 hearing days, 40 affidavits, 800 exhibits and 1,000 pages of closing submissions.
“It is uncontroversial that the purpose of a costs order is not to punish the unsuccessful party. The purpose, no more and no less, is to compensate the successful party,” Legge said.
In her written reasons, Legge said donations made to Deeming were described as “gifts” and she was entitled to “spend (or save) the funds … as she thinks fit”.
“Whether the ‘gifts’ … were expended in direct payment of her legal fees or on the costs of childcare while she attended court, or saved for a rainy day, it was up to Ms Deeming how she chose to manage her finances,” Legge said."

This is from a few days ago and I nearly missed it - but gosh I like this Alison Legge!!

“Whether the ‘gifts’ … were expended in direct payment of her legal fees or on the costs of childcare while she attended court, or saved for a rainy day, it was up to Ms Deeming how she chose to manage her finances,” Legge said."

That's 'go f-k yourselves' in federal-court-registrar-speak in response to Pesutto’s lawyers arguing that ' the costs should be closer to $1.8m and sought to have donations to Deeming considered.'Grin
