Want to lose weight faster? Be non binary! 😂

Good news for us ladies, I was looking about calorie deficits to lose weight and came across this. Did you know that non binaries are able to eat more calories and still lose weight than us more women? 😂😂

Off to declare myself theyself and gorge on cake!

Facepalm of the morning 🤦

But, but, but... It must be correct, it's got a little green tick and says its been Medically Reviewed and everything.

InWithThePlums · 25/09/2024 10:24

Most of the NB people I know are smaller than me, and I’m all of 5’2. Except one who is 6’4 and hench.

Does shaving one’s head or putting nail varnish on alter metabolism? Do goths and punks have different calorie needs to the general population too?

CriticalCondition · 25/09/2024 10:31

The stupid thing is that the written advice is all very sensible and sex based. It's only the weight loss calculator that has been mucked about with by some diversity numpty who has to justify their existence by adding a third box.

Igmum · 25/09/2024 10:33

Oh FFS 🤦‍♀️

On the bright side I'm another one with short hair, no make up and wearing trousers 😋😋😋

Not2identifying · 25/09/2024 10:34

Very amusing. Thank you for sharing.

Same here! And I've just scratched my bum and burped, so... banana cake, here I come!

I'm reading it as a deliberate piece of mischief smuggled in by a clever GC trickster, in order to show up the unscientific daftness of it all...Wink

I like your thinking!

CriticalCondition · 25/09/2024 10:41

I might email them and ask them to add some boxes for star signs. I wonder what calorie intake they recommend for a Gemini. Cos that's relevant and sciency too, right?

popeydokey · 25/09/2024 10:41

That's brilliant - thanks OP!

DrSoupDragonsFriend · 25/09/2024 10:46

Thank you so much for this. It's vastly improved my morning.😂

I'm sure some con-artist citizen nutritionist has come up with a Star Sign Diet - you know, a liquid diet for Aquarians, Bovril for Taureans, olive oil for Virgos, pescatarian for Pisceans, raw antelope for Leos etc Grin

Sadly, that's unlikely.

It's from the US, where the compulsory credo is that transwomen are women, transmen are men, and non-binary is valid.

Any discussion of health has to include women, men and non-binary individuals - or the all-encompassing 'people", as in "pregnant people". (For definition of women and men, see above.)

Edit formatting and clarity.

You don't want these 2 as your doctors

You'd go to see them about your piles and they'd ask you to roll up your sleeve

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 25/09/2024 10:55

Is it because they are half-man and half-woman so their energy expenditure is higher than women and lower than men?

ErrolTheDragon · 25/09/2024 10:55

They can be fully inclusive by giving the values for males and females.

I dread to think what would happen if you went to see them with a broken arm!

I’m Transskinny so I can eat as many calories as I want. Even more than men.

SueSuddio · 25/09/2024 11:11

This is top drawer bat shittery. Darwinism at it's finest. Bravo Everyday Health . Kind of draws a question mark over their other advice.

ReadWithScepticism · 25/09/2024 11:13

I wonder if calorie needs go down while you are in girl mode. I must remember to enter boy mode before every meal. Make-up remover pad and a hoodie should do it.

Thelnebriati · 25/09/2024 11:14

Are they saying weight loss is a binary system but sex isn't?

Singluusername · 25/09/2024 11:14

RockaLock · 25/09/2024 09:41

So they've literally just taken the average for male and female calorie guidance, and said that's the non binary amount Confused

Because obviously non-binary means a 50:50 mix of male and female.

Idiots Hmm

I know! This is remarkable!

Ameliasvocalfry · 25/09/2024 11:22

Beowulfa · 25/09/2024 09:58

Looking forward to DadJoke joining the thread to remind us that non-binary calories are valid, and not counting them is against the law.

🤣🤣🤣

Facepalm of the morning 🤦
OuterSpaceCadet · 25/09/2024 11:25

Surely all those extra calories tend to accumulate around the very binary and womanly tits?

Thankfully in the US there'll be a $urgeon willing to help out with that....
