This is from our very TRA ABC. Please note the comment from “Mr Southwick, a Jewish MP re Angie Jones’ tweet”. Well, Angie Jones is as Jewish as they come but they don’t say that.

Also, for, those who don’t know, see Angie on m.youtube.com/@TERFTalkDownUnder, though she hasn’t posted for a while. Some really good interviews.

'Are you accusing me of having Nazi links?': Secret recording played at Victorian Liberals defamation trial

A Victorian court hears a recording of a meeting between then-Liberal MP Moira Deeming and senior party figures, including Opposition Leader John Pesutto.

His next paragraph agrees with you, but makes it clear that implying activists are Nazis is the problem, regardless of the type of activist.

"one can have a civilised debate about whether advocates for trans and gender diverse people’s rights do so in a civilised way, or ought to adopt a different tone, but to equate them with the most murderous regime in the history of the world is odious"

Sorry but I read the whole thing as pure cakeism. It's "Look Judge, KJK likes a bit of Nazi iconography and here's three examples. I hope that you accept my implication that she is, therefore, a bit of a Nazi herself. But, just in case that doesn't land with you, I'm going to tell you that she is odious for suggesting that the trans advocates are Nazis." He wouldn't have mentioned Nazi Barbie if he was only trying to make the second point.

CassieMaddox · 21/09/2024 17:58

And I think you aren't seeing what she's doing.
She said that ages ago in response to criticism that she had gone on those podcasts. It kind of makes sense if you squint. Since then she's endorsed Trump, got involved directly with Moms for Liberty (Trumpist religious conservative US group) and posted and reposted increasing amounts of anti-Muslim, far right content.

For example during the riots she tweeted "The left....rather you be a rapist than a racist" which is pretty inflammatory and certainly not "letting all women speak"

Her politics are clear yet that line is used to try to shut down women with concerns.

Pesutto can imply she is a Nazi, that is all fine. Well, until he has to issue a retraction and apology.

But if she implies that TRAs are Nazis, she is 'odious'.

KJK is not on trial, neither is Deeming. Pesutto is and his defence is he honestly believes that KJKs views are so odious he doesn't think someone who would choose to be associated with them is fit for the party.

He mentioned "Nazi Barbie" because it was one of the things brought up in the audio that Deeming claimed not to know about.

He also brought it up because later it was shown to be untrue that she didn't know these things.

Hence why I think she's on shaky ground because that kind of contradiction damages credibility.

Alison please can you show me where he implied "she" (either Deeming or KJK) was a nazi because from the evidence so far I haven't seen it.
Maybe it will come out next week, but if you have something I'd be interested.

And I think you are hallucinating. This obsession is really unhealthy, of all the appalling things happening to women across the world is this vendetta against JKJ really your priority?

No. Just something I'm posting about. As are you. Confused

Datun · 21/09/2024 18:44

No, she's saying she talk to 'the devil', because she will.

It's not a tactic in case someone accuses her of it.

Jean Hatchett was the first speaker in Sheffield today.
Linked arms with KJK in solidarity and essentially told any self-appointed head girls who didn't like it to bog off
(about 5-10 minutes in)

That's a really good turn of events, in my opinion.

I can only see a minute-long clip there - is there a link to the fuller version with Jean Hatchet?

Snowypeaks · 21/09/2024 19:47

BoreOfWhabylon · 21/09/2024 19:20

BoreofWhabylon, I can't find the bit in the clip. How many minutes in?

BezMills · 21/09/2024 19:55

6m 30s

spannasaurus · 21/09/2024 19:57

It starts at 1m 20s on the YouTube video

Snowypeaks · 21/09/2024 20:01

Thanks, Bez - found it.

How heart-warming. Both women have strong principles and tremendous moral courage and it's wonderful to see Jean Hatchet and KJK standing together, differences set aside. This is how the women's movement should be. There's only one battle but lots of ways to wage it.

I agree with Datun - this is huge.

ETA: I always try to find positive notes in all the horror and this was it for this weekend!

timenowplease · 21/09/2024 20:06

I'm very upset to hear KJK was assaulted again today.

For those who say women aren't responsible for men's violence - that is total bull-shit.

There are women (apparently) on this board who make crazy and false accusations against KJK every day. Thread after thread after thread,

In any other context it would be called hate speech. Of course that narrative is dangerous. If someone commits a violent act because of a false narrative then those involved in creating and perpetuating that narrative bear some responsibility.

I'm fucking sick of this shit.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/09/2024 20:17

That isn't the controversial part, Eresh. You know this

No Messina, I don't. You've repeatedly claimed that the "incidents" referred to by Pesutto were important. The Maiden speech and the IWD are both about women's rights and child safeguarding. That's what you are pointing to as "controversial" when you imply that Pesutto was justified.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 21/09/2024 20:20

I'm very upset to hear KJK was assaulted again today.

Me too. She seems to have taken it in her stride but I'm concerned that she or someone else is going to get badly hurt at one of these things. We know how batshit and violent many of these men are.

CassieMaddox · 21/09/2024 20:30

I think you live a very sheltered life if you think criticising politicians and activists for their actions is "hate speech". And claiming women are responsible for male violence is a common feature of misogyny

https://4w.pub/the-rules-of-misogyny/

  1. Women are responsible for what men do.

The only person responsible for what happened today is the man that did it.

So, you, then.

How predictable.
