Agree. They were also full on TWAW and shut the fuck up bigots to people raising objections.

Well total reverse ferret apparent here.

That certainly is no where to be seen in this report.

It's been done in a way that also makes it hard for tantrumers to be taken seriously.

So: a revolting human being and also shit at his job.

Pretty much.

The data protection oversight and lack of employee handbook say it all.

Appalonia · 12/09/2024 13:27

Having watched much of that jaw dropping employment tribunal, this is very satisfying to read.

I've just reported that post because I think there are privacy and safeguarding concerns in it which are inappropriate to be posted here.

GargoylesofBeelzebub · 12/09/2024 13:39

Just to make it clear that Sandy Brindley and RCS cannot claim they didn't know that there were issues.

Thanks for the link to the report. I'm going to try and digest it later.

biddyboo · 12/09/2024 14:10

Glad to see this reported on the BBC now as well. Currently no. 7 under most read articles.

TorghunKhan · 12/09/2024 14:17

Based on that report I'd say MW will be out the door pretty sharp now. But the Trustees really do bear a lot of responsibility. It sounds like regardless of the trans debate, MW is not a good or competent leader or manager and definitely not charity CEO material. That should have been obvious before they employed MW (it was obvious to me) and certainly became obvious over time but what did they do about it? Spoiler alert: big egos make bad bosses.

almost as if it was a DEI hire?

Crumbs that’s surprisingly damning. Other rape crisis centres in Scotland should take note. I’m certain ERCC won’t be the only one.

Beside the point I know but there are so many typos in that article. You’d think the Daily Mail would have proof-readers to skim articles before publication.

Maybe using wrong sex pronouns for someone who behaves with typical male pattern abusive behaviour addled their brains so much that they can't cope with SPAG anymore.

Or you know, the typos IDENTIFY as correct, and as we know that's all that matters.

I'm fine with typos to be honest, using wrong sex pronouns for men where women have been harmed by men, not so much.

RedToothBrush · 12/09/2024 13:22

On the plus side, this report is pretty unequivocal and explicit in single sex being non negotiable and that survivors gender critical feelings can not be pushed back on.

This is a big plus.

I guess the thing is whether RCS will accept this or not. They may yet just ignore and continue as they have been 'nothing to see here'.

I also wonder whether there will be any impact on Stonewall and Stonewall's advice? I cannot think that there will be very much left of Stonewall's reputation about their interpretation of the laws around transgender issues at this stage.

ZeldaFighter · 12/09/2024 14:48

Who hired this MAN (legally and biologically) to head a WOMAN'S service?

They are the second people I would fire, obviously after Mr Wadhwa.

GailBlancheViola · 12/09/2024 14:48

A damning report and rightly so, ERCC and MW in particular cared not one iota about the service users their concern was to ensure their political doctrine around gender affirmation was embedded in this sector. Absolutely fucking horrendous.

MrsOvertonsWindow · 12/09/2024 14:51

Yet another example of how adherence to this wretched ideology repeatedly trashes once respected organisations and the safety of women and children.
Every. bloody. time.

RainWithSunnySpells · 12/09/2024 14:53

Wings article. https://wingsoverscotland.com/the-land-of-immunity/

'Astonishingly, there isn’t a single word of apology anywhere in this statement.

There isn’t a scintilla of contrition, not the tiniest glimmer of admission of culpability or responsibility. There isn’t even a weasel-worded expression of “regret”.

Rape Crisis Scotland is unfit for purpose, and its CEO must resign.

She won’t, of course, because nobody in Scotland has been accountable for anything for the last decade. The Lord Advocate presided over a malicious prosecution that will cost taxpayers upwards of £100m and didn’t have to quit over it.'

GailBlancheViola · 12/09/2024 14:56

I am losing patience with this idea of having to define what a girl and a woman is as per Rape Crisis saying they need to agree and publish a definition - it is fucking simple a juvenile female human and an adult female human and NOTHING else, not a man with a piece of paper that is a legal fiction, nor a man who thinks in his head he is a woman.

Just STOP with this nonsense now.

It does have a bearing on Sarah's case, I would say. An admission by the body that oversees rape crisis centres saying that woman-only is a national standard. Rape Crisis Scotland, but still helpful to Sarah.

I can't read the article (don't want to subscribe) but would a kind poster give her opinion: does it sound as if when RCS say "women-only", it actually means that? I know the criticism would make no sense if they didn't mean women-only, but, well, you know...

It very much reads as if "women" means physical sex but the language has been so mangled that no-one knows for sure and certain.

I expect it will be very helpful to Sarah's case. I'm even a bit surprised after Roz Adams that Sussex haven't rolled over and tried to settle yet and that Sarah's case still has to go ahead. In my eyes it's not looking at all good for Sussex. But then I have no legal background.

I keep planting my carrots for her, a few seeds at a time. Sarah's was my first garden and I'll keep going til the harvest.

A good day for Scotland!

It was great to read more about JK Rowling's aid to women in funding/creating 'Beria's place'. What a strong and compassionate woman she is.

'The needs of survivors should be listened to and respected when they come to any Rape Crisis Centre. It is important that survivors can make informed choices about the services they access at Rape Crisis Centres, and we recognise that for some survivors this includes the choice of a single sex service. We are working with our member Rape Crisis Centres across Scotland to consider what more we need to do to ensure survivors can make informed choices about the support they receive from Rape Crisis Centres, to ensure they are able to access the services they need.'

I coudl fucking weep.

Bloody obvious you would think!! 2024 and we have this!!
