Just because I agree with someone on a particular issue, doesn't mean that I agree on every issue, or even think they're a good person. Humans are complex beings and I imagine it would be impossible to find two in the entire world who have the exact same opinions on everything.

Did you watch any of it the other night? Trump couldn't even look at Harris. He almost cringed when she shook his hand. It comes across to me as he can't stand the thought of being beaten by a woman, let alone a smiley, small, brown woman. He doesn't want to debate her because he doesn't see why he should, in his mind he's just naturally superior by virtue of being a rich man. He lost it in the debate because she didn't "know her place" and he's now raging because he lost.

We all know men like that. I find it beyond odd that anyone deeply immersed in a movement about protecting women can't see what he is.

I also find it odd that someone who's made their name "letting women speak" wouldn't admire Harris for standing up to that lunatic.

Some people on this thread seem to have rewritten history to claim that objecting to being talked down to by ivory tower academic feminists who set themselves up as our betters is the same as getting angry that people don't support KJK. I don't care that people don't support KJK. I don't have to agree fully with one side or another as a package. I'm glad there are lots of different women in this fight.

I'm using common parlance to outline the common approach of authoritarians/ fascists.

What I mean in other words is authoritarians lie a lot. The reason they do this is to sow uncertainty in the mind of the population they seek to control, and reduce the ability of that population to trust their own judgement and analysis. The consequence is the population becomes dependent on the authoritarian to define "the truth".

It's similar to the characteristic behaviour of an abuser in a relationship but on a larger scale.

Therefore you cannot believe anything an authoritarian says. They call themselves "the Democratic party of...." or "the socialist party of...." precisely to cause confusion and the kind of debate we ate having. It obfuscates their true intent and purposes.

That's a complete reversal of what happened. Those threads were all started by people who wanted to harangue women on MN for supporting KJK in any way at all.

They were awful because no one likes being talked down to by people they disagree with.

There are in-group insults being shared on both sides, your portrayal is completely biased to your own viewpoint.

There have been zero threads saying "if you won't support KJK in everything she does, you're a baddie". So that was a false claim. People are passionate on both sides.

I've only seen them be brought up when someone has started a thread about "Nazis" or "Tommy Robinson" or whatever, personally. It's all just bringing Twitter spats to mumsnet.

The socfem types do some good work, but they need to dial down the condescending attitude many of them have. KJK does some good work, but sometimes she doesn't do herself any favours.
