Now I’m no fan of Trump by any stretch but I don’t think he actually said he’ll put in place a dictatorship.

He did make a quip about being a dictator ‘only on day one.’

I prefer my potential President/Prime Minister candidates to not make serious-not-serious comments about being a dictator. And I don't just write it off as nothing to worry about.

Of course it’s harmful rhetoric. I’m not a trump voter or supporter.

If he gets voted in in November are you really suggesting it’s because he has the support of KJK?

Mud slinging politics drives me mad whichever side it comes from.

The democrats could have legislated against Roe v Wade before Trump stacked the Supreme Court, that left an open goal. Obama made an election promise he didn’t keep. That left a door open for the reversal under Trump.

Similarly the fact that the democrats are failing to protect women & children wrt gender leaves the door open to Trump for people who may be single issue voters.

Seeing politics through a one sided lens is unhelpful. KJK is not responsible for women voting Trump on this issue IF the democrats failures on this issue is what is swaying the vote for them.

No side is great for women. The democrats would get my vote, could I vote, because I think Trump is reprehensible and policies will clearly impact women. But the fact that he has gained so much political traction despite this is must have something to do with vote dissatisfaction with the democrats. Blaming the opposition isn’t going to win hearts and minds. Listening to reasonable concerns & addressing them might.

Of course not! I'm sorry, I'm finding you difficult to take seriously. The rest of your post was semi-OK, but I nearly didn't bother reading it because of the question above. Why exaggerate so?

I think ,@CassieMaddox just wants to have a discussion about it, like me. because we find it interesting and that is what Mumsnet is for.... discussing things you find interesting with other people who also find them interesting 🤷🏼‍♀️

I guess my main point is that the frequent posts about KJK make me wonder if some posters think she has more power than she actually has!

it’s a shame, but not surprising that you won’t address the other points. No one really wants to address that voter dissatisfaction is often attributable to policy decisions. They just like to blame the opposition and its supporters.

I can only speak for myself but the right/left thing has been done ad nauseam and I'm quite bored of it. I'm relieved we aren't having an election for another 5 years.

This thread is about KJK endorsing Trump and personally I don't think the right/left debate is relevant to that
