Gosh. I remember this person from a few years ago when Starbucks was doing its Mermaid biscuits campaign. A local councillor (?) raised her concerns about safeguarding at Mermaids and he had a real go at her.

funny how quickly the “lessons learned” after the Savile inquiry have been forgotten.

Surrey Live's 'Pride in Surrey' section has more than 90 stories promoting the event. Several are interviews with, and images of, child rapist Stephen Ireland. Only one story about his crimes has been included - and that's Pride distancing itself from him

Lessons are never learned, it seems to me. Whether it's child abuse, institutional racism, or even genocide. People are people, ignorance and failures persist and it all happens all over again.

Wings of Scotland have put together a lot of dots to join. They are in plain sight.

It is shocking that the mainstream media is still holding back, glossing over, and minimising what has been taking place.

That's great work to put all that together.

If someone it on twitter they could point out to WS that the video of SI may be earning click revenue from the song?

When all those people sided with them and protected them from those nasty transphobes they must have been struggling not to laugh in their faces.

Will there be a string of public apologies to those who tried to warn them?

It would be gracious but I never expect it.

Those who warned them (like the denounced and reviled councillor who was recommended re-education) will have used the wrong tone. Or it was the way it was said or could have been expressed differently.

of course not.

only a public inquiry would prompt mass grovelling

there are too many resisting that - for good reason. Too many have to admit the damage they actively participated in.

Ripx4nutmeg reminding us of the conversation between Stephen Ireland and Jordan Gray

LGBT activists Stephen Ireland and Jordan Gray here talk about why children should be exposed to kink at Pride events. Ireland has since been found guilty of raping a child. They were both patrons of Educate & Celebrate, which went into primary schools to provide 'LGBT awareness'

Wow - a convicted paedophile and a man whom commits indecent exposure aided and abetted by the useful idiots running Channel 4, salivating over children accessing kink and pup play. The paedophile moans about parents warning children about kink / pups at Pride amd JS boasts about talking to 4 & 5 year olds commenting that they completely understand transgenderism and are unphased by it until they get older when it's "scared out of them".

The last comments by JS is saying the quiet bit out loud:

"...If a kid were able to work it out then something would be going terribly wrong (nervous laugh) but nobody is doing anything that would be signifying the particular ins and outs of their private situation - that would be a different story and of course that doesn't happen, you're absolutely right"

At least one of them is in prison.....

Melroses · 18/03/2025 17:22

Oh dear - there is another Channel 4 Jordan Grey offering further down Nutmeg's thread. 😖

"Children just know" and "unlearn" as they get older about gender identity bollocks, just like how PIE argued that kids could "just know" that sex with an adult was OK?

We see you.

Kids don't know what's dangerous and what isn't, that's why we don't let them drive cars, have sex, or take puberty blockers.

The culpability of the police cosying up to a paedophile is horrendous. But as we see from the Met debacle playing out at the Employment Tribunal - these men have persuaded the police to see women speaking out about safeguarding children as terfs and bigots while making life very easy for men determined to erode safeguarding and women's boundaries.

I note how economical with the actualité Pride in Surrey have been in failing to mention that Ireland was their founder and responsible for setting up the organisation. If you didn't know better, you wouldn't think he was at the heart of the organisation at all, just one of two 'former volunteers'.

Deliberate misrepresentation and cowardice.

I understand why pride in Surrey are desperately trying to cover their arses. What I don’t understand is why everyone is letting them get away with it

Maybe because they're guilty of enabling the predators? The police have been very quiet about their actions in accompanying the Pride paedophiles into schools. The secondary school Ireland visited weeks before his arrest don't appear to have made any comment? No reassurance that he was never alone with children, no clarification of which particular messages he was sharing with teenagers, no investigation of the staff who invited him?
Hopefully the schools and all the others visited have conducted a safeguarding review to check what contact was had with children? Although as I believe the council were avid supporters maybe they're also compromised and hoping that nobody asks too many questions that might uncover a larger scandal?

The history of child abuse scandals in countless local authorities often shows that an initial prosecution is the first indication of a major abuse scandal.

I hope this isn't true, but unfortunately it might well be.

SinnerBoy · 24/03/2025 14:55

I agree, I'd have thought that any school involved would have put statements out, to reassure worried parents.

In order to be worried, parents would need to be aware of these school visits.

I'm not sure they are aware, since all involved in organising the visits seem to have ensured that parents didn't and don't know, either at the time or since.

Indeed @Theeyeballsinthesky - I wonder if it's because any kind of public discussion of this, and admission of mistakes by schools, and the police et al., might be misconstrued as good old-fashioned homophobia.

You know, the easy line that was so often trotted out in the context of Section 28 for example, about all homosexual men being paedophiles.

It's not true, of course it's not, but my heart does sink with this news in that it could look like just confirming what all the still-existing homophobes still think.

It's why Ireland's behaviour is so, so damaging - to the boys he abused, but also to the cause of gay and lesbian equality and the fight against homophobia.

Transactivism has screwed it up - once again - for ordinary normal gay people.

FarewellMsSorrow · 24/03/2025 18:38

It was six days. Six days! 6th June was the visit, 12 June when it all came out.

That would be at least one volunteer who publicly criticised Lisa Townsend and called for her removal as PCC on behalf of himself and Pride in Surrey.
