Mountaineering in a silky dressing gown is inadvisable.

And he might need something heavier duty, if he wants to murder a bear, for example...

Do you feel the urge to join a male voice choir?

That did make me laugh😂😂😂. Thankfully not because i'm a rubbish singer, I do love a bit of Calon lan though.

Me too & am not even Welsh. The only boys allowed version was beautiful, my dad would have shed a tear.

We get this around here, it's so lovely.

Love it. The lyrics have a beautiful meaning too. See now you've got me wanting to learn welsh.

Helleofabore But, I suspect that because none of it has come directly from Khelif or the team management, it will conveniently be dismissed as 'hearsay'.

But that's what makes the Georges Cazorla interview with Le Point so valuable - his words, direct speech, no doubts about meaning:

" At the end of 2022, Nasser contacted me to offer me the chance to help Imane Khelif prepare for the World Championships, the African Championships and the Olympic Games. So I came out of retirement ....
He [an unnamed endocrinologist] confirmed that Imane is indeed a woman, despite her karyotype and her testosterone level. He said: "There is a problem with her hormones, with her chromosomes, but she is a woman." That's all that mattered to us. "

That's not hearsay, it's straight de la bouche du cheval, and it pretty much puts the tin lid on any of the IKIAW arguments.

I've been arguing this with dimwits on social media who just focus exclusively on the "is a woman" part.

We need to find humanoid extra- terrestrials who are 10% faster and much stronger than men. Then they will get it.
Until then I think many men just won't understand that the little ladies aren't just a bit slower because they are smaller but that our bodies are different in so many way.
The idea that men with DSDs will have a level playing field with women if they reduce their T goes to show that even those who should know aren't factoring in reach, lung capacity, blood volume, skeletal and muscular differences etc.
No amount of testosterone reduction is going to change the Q angle in the fully grown person.

Maybe chimpanzees might work?
Similar to humans but will absolutely rip a man apart no questions asked

Well, that is what is being pushed for. Just a continuation of the usual "a woman is anyone who identifies as a woman."

"Despite" problems with chromosomes, karyotypes, etc.

duc748 · 13/08/2024 22:28

All the time, in every area, pushing the idea that what the word 'woman' means is somehow flexible, and open to debate. It isn't. But the fuckers will continue to try chipping away.

JanesLittleGirl · 13/08/2024 22:37

I find myself in that inexplicable piece of conversation where I say "I can explain it to you but I cannot understand it for you".

That pesky reality always has a habit of getting in the way of non-scientific belief systems, tsk!

I can't see this shared anywhere. I think it's pretty safe to say that women and their right to safety and fairness are not a major concern for Martin Samuel:

I'll bet all five of his chins were quivering with outrage when he wrote that bilge.

ArabellaScott · 14/08/2024 07:44

Well, he starts with a shonky strawman and I assume it builds from there.

Oh he is so very concerned about this tiny percentage of male intersex athletes ,why no one thinks about their future and the effect on their mental health, why dont the coaches think about that when they seek them out to put them in the spotlight!!!!

PoppySeedBagelRedux · 14/08/2024 07:54

Is there a thread about JKR being sued by the fragrant Imane?

It's almost like he has no idea what he's talking about.

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 08:04

All that Martin Samuel has done is write the hyperbole that we have already seen on all the threads and take it that one step further.

All while forgetting, Khelif has the choice to not compete knowing that Khelif had been found to be male with physical advantage. There has been such focus on this person’s background and the oppressive government. Yet so many people have infantilised this adult by removing Khelif’s responsibility. No government forced this person to compete after the now three lots of testing. And knowing that this case would draw so much public attention, Khelif’s team needs to take responsibility too. And for not putting their client’s life at risk if there are going to be life threatening issues on return to Algeria.

The absolute balls of any person who wishes to force the public to believe something when eyes and information given show that there is something not consistent between the reality and the information! This athlete, the team, the IOC and the Algerian organisations who supported them are all complicit in this chilling effect.

And this article, it is a melodramatic outpouring that highlights it all. Was that his intention? I know nothing about him. Or was this guy serious?

Helleofabore · 14/08/2024 08:49

Well. That makes it clear, thank you!!

viques · 14/08/2024 08:56

duc748 · 12/08/2024 22:30

So in Rio, three men won medals in a women's event, and hardly anyone knew at the time, and even now, only a minority probably do. And in Paris, two men won boxing gold. And a few more people know. Is this progress? Hopefully enough to shake the IOC up a bit, with Bach going.

Well the three women who were denied medals ( plus sponsorship, lucrative endorsement deals, a place on Olympic history, reward for their years of training and sacrifice) and their moment on the podium certainly knew, and what happened when they spoke up? They were the ones lambasted in the the press, called out on social media and told they should stop being whinging losers.

Crikey that’s a new one. Women need to shut up about the unfairness of rules that allow men in their sporting categories because if we make a fuss those men will face a backlash in their own misogynistic countries.

Yes, he's also pushed the entirely false "1.7%" propaganda.

kiterunning · 14/08/2024 09:57

Samuel has form for this. His contempt for women also extends to issues with trans participation.
