Nothing, yet. But this is violence and threats of violence which is disrupting democracy so I hope to see something soon.....

Will wait for Keir Starmer, Angela Rayner and Wes Streeting to get out there and strongly condemn these threats. It's disgusting and she is 100% right to pull out of public appearances until it is taken seriously.

She needs police protection and the Labour Party to grow a backbone and protect her. Rosie is currently the only Labour Party candidate I would consider voting for.

I suppose the response from the LP will confirm how seriously they take VAWG. The fact she wasn't able to contact the leadership and ask for help in the first place speaks volumes.

Well that's something at least. I doubt the leadership will want to draw attention to this because they know the call is coming from inside the house. It's not the right wing who is targeting Rosie.

Do you know who she's referring to and why? I wouldn't necessarily leap to this being about her GC views given how women in politics are generally treated. It sounds more like a stalker tbh.

I think Rosie makes it quite clear who she's talking about.

A stalker is singular. She talks about 'certain people' who have been trolling and misrepresenting her for years. We all know who those people are or at least what faction of politics they represent.

To add - I imagine it's the same people who made her feel too unsafe to attend Labour Party Conferences also.

There is a substantial faction within our local Labour club who are openly trying to get Rosie ousted. Absolutely disgusting treatment by her own party. Plenty of local loudmouths mouthing off lies and misrepresentation on social media about her too. I'm just hoping the GC contingent keeping quiet publicly but are more numerous than it appears, and ready to vote for her.

If you search Rosie Duffield on twitter tonight then number of comments who are clearly from Labour members who are abusing her and telling her this is her fault is outrageous.

How can we vote labour ?

Harriet Harman has replied to Jess's tweet with sympathy but nothing on Rosie's. Sarah Champion has tweeted in support of Rosie but not seen anything from other Labour MPs.

Regardless of who and why, the question is why isn't her party supporting her? Surely if one of your MPs or candidates is being threatened and abused, they should be supported by their colleagues and the party leader?

I don't know much about this (saw it in Active) but from what I've seen on this thread she should have the same protection as Nigel Farage. But also support from her party.

I don't want to sound harsh. I'm tired and perhaps being a bit mean but I feel like I'd respect her more if at this stage she left and stood as an Independent. I assume though it's too late to do that before the GE? Maybe she can do that afterwards if she wins. She's been treated appallingly by her party. Whatever people's views on any issues, a candidate or MP shouldn't be unable to attend hustings or other campaign events due to risk to their safety.

A labour spokeperson said 'vital to democracy etc' still nothing from starmer as far as I'm aware
