So explain pips bunce who is a "woman " part of the week and a man part of the week.
Philip/Pippa bunce, something in credit suisse

If only Pips could crochet , I wonder what the end product would look like…………..

How are they? HOW?

Essence, of course. There's this mysterious female essence that they tap into (or whatever you do with an essence, rub it on, maybe?) and THEY KNOW they are women.

Just a really basic example I can't set up a tv, I can't learn programming, I can't open up my PC and fix my pulled wire, and it's because I'm a woman

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

No your just limiting yourself with mad beliefs

I am a programmer, working with other female programmers knowing that the first computer programmers were women.

Learning to code is remarkable similar to learning to knit and it's not because we have a masculine essence either 🙄🙄🙄

Fuck! I just installed a new mortice lock in my door, and I have set up most of our TVs, I create websites, set up my own PC and network it to others, and I fix fences, I do know have to pull together a barbed wire fence, do hard landscaping and most of the painting, plastering and decorating. And sometimes wear a dress and make up if I want to.

I don't have a 'masculine stereotype'.

I am just a woman who gets in and doesn't let other people's expectations of what a 'woman should do' stop me from doing what needs to be done. But that set of examples makes me feel like I am definitely not 'womaning' correctly. I reckon my mother and probably grandmother weren't 'womaning' correctly either.

However, negative sexist discrimination still exists in employment. But I suspect a large % of it is about reproduction, education and opportunities rather than the type of discrimination such as 'I am a woman and cannot set up my TB or PC'. Although, I am sure that will still be around. I certainly doubt any male person with a trans identity will be experiencing that discrimination.

Or was it self-limitation? I could't work it out.

I think I lost my female essence at some point.
Maybe it slipped out when I gave birth. Or when my PCOS/gynae problems caused me to pass blood clots the size of my hand.

Oh no... I think it got confiscated by the TRA God when I programmed my TV/put up a shelf/plumbed in the washing machine.

Someone stealing it to sell is hardly likely to have replaced it with a trans flag.

I didn’t explain myself very well, I don’t think anyone is stealing to sell on the postbox toppers local to me, I think it is probably either mean-spirited people or someone being political as only war or royalty related ones go. It was more the contrast, a dictionary definition of woman = unpleasant politics and must be removed and destroyed and this is okay (for some people) while nationalistic/ historical ones depending on your worldview = someone selling on and not a protest so the culprit must be found and told off.

Either way, it’s a real shame that hours of work, whether we like the message, colour or type of wool craft, are being removed and probably chucked. Personally, I can’t stand crochet.

ifIwerenotanandroid · 04/06/2024 19:56

Was the original really destroyed? I'd been wondering what happened to it, thinking it had probably been handed in at the PO or something.

Feckedupbundle · 04/06/2024 20:11

Ah bugger it. I rewired the livestock trailer a few months ago. And I wore men's clothing whilst doing it.That'll be why my womanly essence has evaporated.😟

nobeans · 04/06/2024 20:14

I agree tbh. It's not in the spirit. In my opinion they should have knitted objects like people or ducks or twee things on. No statements. Just knitted tweeness

Maybe the knitted ones do have tweeness on them.

Maybe it's just the hookers who are the problem

Needmoresleep · 04/06/2024 21:08

That bloke who dives and who had a child via surrogacy - way too uninterested to remember his name - knits. Perhaps he could knit some toppers.

Is this some sort of knitting reference?

No

The piece isn't knitted it's crochet. Hookers is a nickname for people who crochet because they use hooks.

So no its specifically not a knitting reference, twee or otherwise

Oh! OK

Sorry to any hookers I have upset by confusing them with knitters

Intimidated by ribbons and yarn crafts, how do these people get through life?

The nazis did a pretty good job using armbands made of cotton !

Ah and here is a perfect example of Godwin’s law.

DeanElderberry · 05/06/2024 07:27

It really isn't.

And Godwin has effectively revoked his 'law' for obvious reasons. Referencing it is terribly early 21st century.

It's been removed and replaced with this one now...

(posted on page 2) please please send this into the paper! If you haven’t already. It would be very interesting to see what happens -
Also you can absolutely quote me, and I suspect, many others, in that I now find the trans and rainbow flag intimidating and makes me feel kind of..oppressed? Is that the word? Physically slightly ill and uncomfortable and please..just stop it already.

Releasing the essence from the crude sounds exactly like an industrial process. Are they planning to melt us women down in a crucible in order to capture and use our 'essence'?

For God's sake! Don't feed them any more crazy ideas!

We could set up a business selling 'Essence of Woman', The marketing guff will include phrases like 'organic, non-synthetic essence of woman', 'ethically sourced', 'cheaper than synthetic HRT', and there could be some pseudoscience about it turning the feeling of woman into the reality of woman.

There must be homeopathy bottle manufacturers looking for a new outlet.

BackToLurk · 05/06/2024 07:59

iamreallyabee · 03/06/2024 20:34

I've been thinking about this for a few years, and I really don't know if they are in a sense or not, because I think we can't really know how other people feel. Transwomen have told us, that they just always felt like they were a woman, and it's hard to understand but if you take it at face value it could be possible that in some way they just are, and they just are in the wrong body somehow.

As in maybe we need to take crude bodies out of it to understand and entertain the possibility that a woman can be something else, like an essence. I haven't really made my mind up about this but I've always had this feeling about it.

I think the major inequity women face is that having children affects our incomes unfairly compared to men, and transwomen aren't having this problem but I suspect they are also a group that suffers the same result

Edited

The only thing that makes you a woman is your female body. It doesn’t define anything else about you. What you should like. What you should wear. How you should spend your life. It may influence parts of those, but it doesn’t define them.

There are billions of different ways of being a woman. Being male isn’t one of them.

DeanElderberry · 05/06/2024 08:00

I think we'd need legal advice on the exact definition of 'essence of woman' versus 'essence of a woman' versus 'woman essence' versus 'womanly essence' and how large a quantity was required in each, and how close to source each one would have to be.

Is an actual XX adult human female required in each case, or would a flouncy skirt or some false eyelashes do just as well?

DeanElderberry · 05/06/2024 08:02

I am actually quite affronted at the suggestion that 'woman' might be synonymous with incompetent or ineffectual.

Sod that.

Runningupthecurtains · 05/06/2024 08:08

Plenty of the men who discover that (in their opinion) they are women really manage to hold down 'man jobs' both before and after transition so I'm not buying that they are hampered by lady essence that prevents them from managing anything technical.

I’ll invest.
