Has anyone noticed a dialling down in PRIDE logos on business websites today?

Didn't see what it said but this is what is 🙄 about on here -
Things like "if you see any transphobia, report it."
Someone does - it's always "mutter, mutter, Monitors" and alludes and insinuations towards dark sinister Eyes pulling the strings behind the scenes or some such 🙄

Kicking up a fuss in gay venues, threatening to get people cancelled, trying to organise boycotts of venues, constantly complaining about wording of posters and advertising posts. Just being constant pains so that people stop organising things because they get so fed up with them.

So these ones aren’t causing ‘most of the issues’? Just some of the issues?

@Sloejelly that is men. Men sexually assault and rape women and men.

And the reason I said that none of you seem like you are part of the LGBT community as the way you talk gives zero insight into what is actually happening. Sure some of you might be lesbians or bisexual, but unless you are part of the LGBT community - going to events, socialising, going to bars - then anything you know you are simply reading. You have no actual experience of what is happening.

Exactly. Men are a danger to women regardless of if they are transwomen or not. But the census shows men who identify as transwomen are several times more likely to be convicted of sexual offences.

Or are you suggesting that some men pretend to be trans? Isn’t that transphobic? After all acceptance without exception!

Of course some criminal men pretend to be trans. We see it with various serial killers. It is a way to get privileges.

What an utterly bizarre argument. What YOU know is based solely upon your own experience. What someone who reads widely around the issue knows is based on a collection of the experiences of many people, which builds up a picture.

And how, pray tell, are we meant to tell the difference between the 15 stone male who is 'really trans' and the 15 stone male who is pretending to be?

Anecdotal and unscientific comment on randomly-observed Pride-promoting stuff:
if it's not in drag, sequinned, shiny, glittery or flouncy, it's not Pride.
So that's a lot of us left out. And (arguably more seriously) it's a lot of gender/sexuality questioning young people looking at all that glitter and flounce and saying 'That's what being gay is all about? that's not me...'

And transwomen commit sexual offences at three times the rate of other men.

Maybe go and read the AMA from the young trans-identified female and what she has to say about sexual predators in the community. Will you accuse her of not really being LGBT?

I think you can not change sex and also think there are a lot of transphobic gender critical people. I even went to a few talks.
I actually wanted to talk about the real issues - things have changed in the last 5 years. But no all I get are insults. Never mind you will read about it in the Times one day.

And if that Trans identified female had known anything about the gay community, they would have known rape and sexual assault has been a major issue in gay and bi men's community for decades. It is nothing new. There are some LGBT venues working to stomp it out, and others effectively encouraging it with over sexualised language in their advertising.

I am not transphobic. I am completely opposed to discrimination against people on the basis of trans identity and was very concerned to see KJK’s comments advocating that. I also don’t believe they are entitled to access opposite sex spaces any more than another person of their sex. I am glad to see additional third spaces made available for people who are not safe when trying to access facilities designed for people of their sex.

I also recognise that the causes of identification and degree of harm inflicted by trans-identified people varies between individuals. This can range from mostly harm inflicted against themselves, to advocating for ideology and policies that result in harm to women and children, and all the way to committing sexually violent behaviour themselves. Finally, I believe that there are specific groups within the greater umbrella who are more and less likely to engage in the latter behaviours, whilst also recognise that the landscape of trans-identification is shifting rapidly.

I don’t believe there is anything inconsistent about holding all these things to be true at the same time.
