It’s quite astonishing what filters and makeup can do - to say nothing of photoshop and skilled photography.

I once saw a photo of a woman with body paint so beautifully and intricately done, she seemed to be part of the wall paper.

I honestly don't think he keeps failing in politics because of transphobia.

I've never read an interview where he's expressed an opinion about anything other than himself. I've never read anyone saying anything about Eddie Izzard the great guy, nice man, really cares about x,y,z.

I can’t get past the pictures which must be amongst the most edited in the history of The Photograph.

I don't think in all my life have I sat in an armchair striking that pose with my hand under the chin gazing wistfully into the distance.

Haven't read the whole feature, and EI threads don't last long, but see a big chunk is dedicated, yet again, to Eddie saying pronouns don't matter and yet across the mainstream media I haven't seen a single interviewer go with this and call it as they see it.

Shaun Keaveny on his podcast this week is another recent offender. I can't believe for a second any of these people look at EI and believe there is a woman in front of them. Still they play the game.

If Eddie really doesn't care, I do wish someone would put it to the test.

This. I was a massive Remainer, but he just used to make me cringe when he appeared on any political programme. Patronising and self-absorbed.

To be fair to Eddie though, these types of spreads do enjoy putting the subjects in ridiculous poses.

Eddie is almost laughably narcissistic. What a strange and discomforting oddball. I also find EI creepy as hell and would hate to be in an enclosed space with Big Ed.

Talking about his pleasure at getting good reviews for Gertrude and Ophelia particularly, Izzard says:

Very revisionist view of his coming out. What happened to “I don’t wear women’s clothes, I wear my clothes”? Also, if he thought transvestite was the wrong term why did he use it? Why not ‘transsexual’ which was current at the time? Because he’s a bandwagon-jumping fraud.
