Tras are trying to get JKR arrested.

https://archive.ph/5TEU4 highland fling yourself over the paywall, cos Scottish!

Thought to give IW a break.

The Hate Crime...crime(?) comes into force on 1st April, according to the article. The SNP has not engaged with any of the organisations who have expressed concerns and no-one knows what, if any, training the Police have been given.

Trans activists urge Scottish police to arrest JK Rowling over ‘misgendering hate crime’

Northumbria Police last week dismissed a complaint against the author over calling India Willoughby, a transgender TV personality, a male

@terffert thank you. I had a look on that link and it does take me to the correct city, but there's loads of bodies here seeing as it's a university city. I also took comfort from this:

Latitude and Longitude are often near the center of population. These values are not precise enough to be used to identify a specific address, individual, or for legal purposes.

True they could probably get nearer by asking my ISP but will assume they will reserve that effort for the notorious terfs as they would surely need a court warrant for that.

@MarieDeGournay loving your lyrics 💕

<claps along while peering into the gloom at the few bright sparks of light>

Is it my imagination or are there more, and are they getting brighter?

Does Scottish law apply across the world though? As far as I know, we are only obliged to follow the law of the country we are in at the time.

Particularly as women, for example, we have restrictions placed on what we wear, etc. if in a country that has such rules. Why should we have to follow another country's rules when we are not there.

Here's a handy form to report anonymously if anyone wants to.

It seems that Scottish Police expect non-Scottish police forces to do a lot of investigation on their behalf. Is it likely that these forces will conduct an investigation into an incident that isn't a crime in their jurisdiction?

Yes, that's what's an additional surprise to me. Who has the resources to help others forces out like this?

Maybe... although I guess it depends how many they have to investigate once the floodgates have opened. They might want the Scottish police to provide the extra funds, like football has to pay for police crowd control. Which indirectly means the Scottish tax payer. It's not like they will need the money for other things like education or bobbies on the beat or ferries, is it? 🙄

Shhh, don't mention the F word!

I did think:

Internet hate crime offenders are not limited by national or international boundaries!!

Sounded like the opening to a new Marvel film.

Starring Cesspool!!

Before I go for that lie-down : gendarme is from gens d'armes, and gens means people not men, so not gendered.

Murky buckets!

Ooh! When the bizzies show up to arrest the neighbours you can stand on your doorstep, arms folded, bosom hoicked, looking all disapproving.

I fully intend to, Cake.

Their 4yo grandson broke one of my daffodils with his football, so I have an axe to grind, and grind it I will!

IcakethereforeIam · 23/03/2024 12:54

Don't forget to tut and narrow your eyes.

If a child is old enough to know his her gender identity he's she's old enough to do the time.

Hmmm....

I spend 4 nights a week staying in an hotel and use the hotel WiFi anonymously. How the fuck are they going to track me down? Not that I use any SM apart from MN.

Boiledbeetle · 23/03/2024 10:23

😁

Perhaps Police Scotland could use one of those as a mascot for the new law as the Hate Monster seems to have <sob > been retired.

I'll even let them use the name, because I'm nice like that 😊

My eyes are naturally narrowed, thank God, because I was born disapproving. (I take no credit for it - it's a gift).

I did have to learn how to tut, but I've mastered it now.

I do a good "hrummmph" as well.

You want to see the state of her nets, as well.

SHOCKING!

Edit, because autocarrot, in its infinite wisdom, changed "nets" to "cats". Her cats are actually rather nice- she doesn't deserve them.

WomanXXWorldsOriginsofMothersofAllNations · 23/03/2024 15:11

My iPad is in 1 state, my phone in another and my work laptop somewhere else again. I’d never use my work thingy cos I’m not wanting to appear on line and working 😂 but if I browsed and correctly sexed like a loony tunes in private browsing would the peelers find me??

And when I say state do I mean US, Oz, or state as in noun or verb.

if only words meant summit.

Men are not women. Ever. This statement holds true after 1st April 2024 (yes 2024 when the world lost its collective mind!)

Yes, I'm not certain of course but I suspect most police forces are busy as fuck already, and a missive from Scotland to find a tutting woman with or without cats who correctly sexed someone, will be filed appropriately in the circular file.

I sometimes check where my VPN says I am. I'm variously in Cornwall, London, castelford, Leeds, Bradford, Ayr, and others. I dont know why, I've not changed providers.

What if I use my holiday providers broadband? How will they know it was me and not a previous guest? Or someone sat outside using the hotels internet?
