Men do just fine.

So, are they included?

I see the usual dead cat's arrived.

Yep.

You can go ahead and read the methodology of the reports.

It would look so much better if you answered the question directly. If I didn't know better, I'd think you either didn't know or were trying to be evasive.

You posted them - surely you must know. They’re included yes or no?

I don't care about IW's gender identity at all. IW is known by IW's own words, as a raging homophobic misogynist. Seems quite an unpleasant person, from IW's own words.

borntobequiet · 09/03/2024 13:03

But as I have said many times before, the countries in the world that are doing best for women are also those that are doing best for trans people.

I expect they’re also doing best for mobile phone coverage, mass transport systems and the availability of fresh food in shops. But that doesn’t tell us much.

💯- IW is a narcissistic homophobic misogynistic abusive bully who gives it out non stop but can’t take it back. A truly horrible creature regardless of how they present their outwards appearance.

BezMills · 09/03/2024 13:05

JKR called IW out for what IW is, in her opinion, and IW had an attack of the boohoos and went crying to the police. After all the absolute bile and nonsense IW constantly barfs all over the twitters. Lol

Well when you're dealing with multiple measures collected in hundreds of different ways for populations numbering in the hundreds of millions I can't say I really have the time to write it all out for you.

But if you want to make some specious, fatuous (and obviously incorrect) point that suddenly huge numbers of men are being counted in figures for women because you can't cope with, deal with or begin to attempt to answer the substantial issue that the countries doing best for women are also the ones doing the best for trans people ...well I guess that's on you.

Yes or no would have taken you a fraction of the time it took you to type all that.

Again then - yes or no? You could type y or n to save time.

Feel free to do some research on the education, employment, health, wellbeing outcomes etc for transwomen, you will see the outcomes are consistently lower for this demographic.

Whether or not this is true , it would not be for reasons that are relevant to analysis of women as a sex.

LarkLane · 09/03/2024 13:12

Is IW now going from police force to police force looking for takers?
We might be a while. Still waiting for the Christmas rozzers to arrive.

Froodwithatowel · 09/03/2024 13:12

It must be quite a shock, and alarming, to find the police are no longer quite the weapon they once were.

You mean countries like Malta, that bastion for women's rights and the USA with no maternity leave rights and women having to share cells with male rapists. Those countries?

We've asked that poster that approx a million times. It's never answered.

NonPlayerCharacter · 09/03/2024 13:20

I have no doubt that this is the case, and I am happy to support endeavours to address these disadvantages. I don't believe that requiring people to state that males are females and allowing males into single sex spaces for females.

SabrinaThwaite · 09/03/2024 13:23

But as I have said many times before, the countries in the world that are doing best for women are also those that are doing best for trans people.

Take your example of Denmark.

In 2014 Denmark had the highest rate of violence against women and girls in the EU. A whole raft of measures were put in place to improve life for women, with self ID put through at the same time.

Measures to reduce the gender pay gap, improved parental leave, improvements to women’s health care, measures to reduce VAWG.

Denmark had to improve life for women, and self ID has piggy backed on that.

Correlation is not causation.

1). As a general point it’s clear that including men in statistics that relate to women can affect data where groups are very small.

2). Even if your statistics say what you think they are saying about outcomes for women, (again, Malta?), you aren’t showing causation.

I would guess that access to Netflix is higher in countries where women have more equal economic parity with men. That does not mean that Netflix is improving economic outcomes for women.

Signalbox · 09/03/2024 13:25

But as I have said many times before, the countries in the world that are doing best for women are also those that are doing best for trans people.

Do you mean countries like Canada where immigrant female beauticians are being harassed, forced to close their businesses and dragged through the courts for not wanting to wax the genitals of men in their own homes for safety reasons? Or do you mean countries like New Zealand where the police stand by and do nothing whilst an old woman is repeatedly punched in the face by a violent man who then avoids a criminal conviction and receives life long anonymity? Or do you mean countries like Australia where in some states it is now unlawful for lesbians to organise events which exclude men from attending? Or perhaps you mean countries like Iran which has been praised by at least one high profile TRA for state funding transition (including of gay men by force). How do you think Iran are doing for women?

JKR vs IW

Time to stock up on popcorn. Hopefully there's more to come.

I’ve had 1,000s of abusive messages - including death threats - following JK Rowling’s tweets. I am a woman - legally recognised as such. AND I have a protected characteristic. Transphobia is just not taken seriously. Any other minority, different story. I will be appealing.

(I'm referring to the appeal obviously, not death threats!)

Nowhere am I claiming causation, I don't need to.

The GC argument on the other hand needs to show that self-ID is detrimental to women.

They should be finding that the countries who have put in place self- ID are falling down the league tables for women's equality and well-being after introducing it, not staying at the top, which they are presently doing.

I interpreted IW's "I will be appealing" as an instruction.

And, IW, re: "abusive messages - including death threats," have you paid attention to the routine social media comments that women receive, from JKR to MPs to any woman with an opinion or a higher profile than is deemed fit and proper?

As ever, IW being a notorious "attention-seeking time-waster" (as seen in The Telegraph) might undermine IW's claim to veracity or credibility. IW is participating and actively creating a partisan and hostile social media. IW may be optimistic that this may lead to more TV invitations or speaking roles on panels.

What's the chances of India showing evidence of these threats (and there are 1000's of them!) and death threats... hmmm
