"Transgender newsreader" when was the last time Willoughby read the news? 1994? Grin

Willoughby is a journalist don’t you know? Supported by Schofield on This Morning. Of course.

JKR vs IW

Untoward about the Tooth Fairy?

lip tremble

<throws protective arm around Sinner's quivering shoulder>

Stoppit, @WickedSerious !

now look what you've done!

That's literal VIOLENCE!

<brings out the aniseed twists>

Have a sweetie Sinner. Take no notice of naughty Serious. They're just being silly.

HootyMcBooby · 07/03/2024 10:06

Tooth fairy? Coin thieving, molar snatching little jumped up tart.

What ya gonna do eh? eh? Shall I await my visit from the po po?

Datun · 07/03/2024 10:06

Willoughby compared J. K. Rowling to Jimmy Savile.

In the article where I found that tweet, it said 'again'.

Does anyone remember the other time?

(The 'Rachel' is Rachel Riley who was sticking up for JKR)

JKR vs IW
songaboutjam · 07/03/2024 10:11

Is IW trying to suggest that JKR is Catholic? She's Christian but she's not Catholic.

WelcomeMarch · 07/03/2024 10:12

pronounsbundlebundle · 07/03/2024 09:25

Anyone who thinks they can get one over on JKR really hasn't read her books. Yes, she can think at least 7 steps ahead and she really understands human nature. Brilliant woman. Thank goodness for JKR.

Do you think we could clone her?

I mean, I'm glad she's finally bitten back at Windy and is standing up for the rights of women, but... I also really want her to concentrate on finishing the next Strike/Robin book.

SinnerBoy · 07/03/2024 10:16

Thing is, if this goes to court.... either way, JKR is going to win.

There will be a performance that will be even more entertaining than the last court case tweets were, in which the glorious batshit rolls and the tweets are spread out for everyone to examine and compare, which are just plain facts and which are..... nasty slurs and increasingly odd accusations. And discuss it all.

If it goes JKR's way, great. If it doesn't go JKR's way, there'll be martyrdom all over the front pages internationally, and the general public are going to understand even better what the issues are. She cannot lose.

But I'll bet JKR's lawyers are rubbing their hands, eyeing the 'ready to go' file and sitting by the phone living for it to ring with the 'go' order.

Froodwithatowel · 07/03/2024 10:20

I'm somewhat hopeful that the bundlemeister, the fox botherer and Ben's wren might get involved.

As well as the tooth fairy, obvs.

It's also bliddy obscene trying to suggest that the anti-Semitism directed towards Jewish people for centuries, and which culminated in the most horrific, unspeakably brutal, targeted slaughter in the last century, is anywhere near on a par with "transphobia".

Most people couldn't give a monkey's about how "transpeople" want to live their lives - they just don't want men invading women's spaces and putting women and children at risk;

they don't want children irreparably damaged by experimental hormones and surgery (which does have a Mengele ring to it, actually - but it is the TRAs advocating it);

they don't want women losing out on sports opportunities, or scholarships;

they don't want girls made uncomfortable in the school toilets because "boys are boys" with all that entails;

they don't want victims of rape and domestic violence made too afraid to seek the help they need because the refuges now house men;

they don't want women of faith excluded from places they have every right to go, because they are now very likely to meet a man there;

And that man might be the kindest man in the world. He might walk round worms on the pavement so he doesn't squash them, and help kittens out of trees - it doesn't matter. He's still male and has no place in a women's space. Any to be frank, if he really was a kind man, he would understand women's distress and not force himself into those very personal spaces.

People are not "anti-trans", India - they are "pro-women"

WelcomeMarch · 07/03/2024 10:26

As an aside -- Windy thinks Savile was trying to 'balance' his criminality by his charity work? Chump. He was using his charity work and fame to gain access to young women and children.

How did IW ever get taken on as a news reporter with such a strange attitude to, well, reporting facts?

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 07/03/2024 10:29

I hope she (JKR) gets brought into the cop shop I work at. I will be fan girling all over her.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 10:31

I can imagine Ben Cooper reading out all Willoughby's nasty tweets in court. I might have to queue up all night to sit in the public gallery for that.

SabrinaThwaite · 07/03/2024 10:32

Beowulfa · 07/03/2024 08:58

Does Willoughby think that if this ends up in a court case, or just splashed across the media, Willoughyby's own tweet record isn't going to be analysed? Is Willoughby really that thick? Or is it the extreme arrogance of the trans identity shield?

What's that line about the confidence of a mediocre white bloke?

Do you think that Willoughby doesn’t realise that it’s not enough to purge your Twitter - and that receipts have been kept?

I agree. There's nothing to lose, ever, by the glaring light of publicity on these issues.

I wonder if JKR has allowed herself to be ostensibly goaded by somebody like Willoughby, quite deliberately.

The credibility of Twitter TRAs like Willoughby is pretty poor but the things they say are par for the course ideology wise.

The mistake they make is gleefully saying the quiet bits out loud. But the quiet bits are still part of the ideology.

We know it's homophobic, racist and sexist. Willoughby just doesn't mind telling everyone.

If you have to pick a mark, you really want to pick one that proves your point.

One of the things that has been made quite clear in the recent court cases, is that many of these people absolutely live in an echo chamber.

When there are confronted by people who aren't fawning acolytes, they fall apart.

It is one of the very questionable and unkind aspects of enabling a vulnerable person to live within a personal created fiction.

You can only play whack-a-mole with reality for so long.

More like a massive overreach to work in the Savile comparison.

NotBadConsidering · 07/03/2024 10:39

I posted something similar on the Hadley Freeman article about pronouns for Scarlet Blake. The fact there’s even a discussion about pronouns for a murderer shows how totally insane the world has become. Now we are looking at a potential court case where a world famous author has to stand up in court to demonstrate her right to call a man a man.

I would say it’s a waste of time, but the insanity is that if this isn’t pushed back against who knows where we will end up.

Chersfrozenface · 07/03/2024 10:39

Was IW ever a reporter? Or just a newsreader i.e. a presenter reading a script prepared by someone else?

JK ROWLING AND THE DELIBERATE MISGENDERING

When trans women said “we just want to pee”
Feminists said “use the men's please.”
Trans activists screamed “you vile terfs!
Nazis are bad but you are worse!”

Doctors started transing kids
At a special clinic known as gids
Some women urged caution, let's watch and wait
but that was deemed transphobic hate

Women who tried to meet and speak
Were assaulted, threatened, and more were peaked
Anything other than female silence
Is genocide and Literal violence

You MUST “do dick” lesbians were told
Doesn't matter if it leaves you cold.
Some lesbians said we don't want to, see…
tims screeched “that invalidates MEE!”

The future looked so very bleak
Then jk Rowling dared to speak
“Do your thing, but leave Maya alone”
Well that was her reputation blown

“Transphobe, bigot, bitch, you're sick.
Be kind to women with a dick.
We'll burn your books you evil witch,
We hoped your last tweet was a glitch.”

Not cowed our queen returned to the fray
“People who menstruate did you say?
Wumben? Wimpund? Woomud?”
The gender Borg bayed for blood

Death and rape threats followed fast
But she'd nailed her colours to the mast
When threats and abuse failed to silence
They patronised, denigrated, threatened violence.

Along came India Willoughby
Simpering “Joanne, you're just like me!
I'm a woman, it's true, it's TRUE!
Though I did have a penis, still might do”

“I'll get out my cervix on live TV
Don't be a terf, say you're like me.
Trans women are women, just a bit more shrill
And as a demographic, more likely to kill.”

Mumsnetters said “this can't last much longer
They try to knock her down, but she gets stronger”
Thank you JK for joining the fight
And standing up for women's rights!
