It is one of the very questionable and unkind aspects of enabling a vulnerable person to live within a personal created fiction.

You can only play whack-a-mole with reality for so long.

Yep.

JKR strikes again with another tweet.

This is just getting too absurd now. Who got Windy to team up with such a transphobic media outlet? Windy needs to hand himself into the Rozzers.

JKR vs IW
Emotionalsupportviper · 07/03/2024 11:06

Never misses a shot, does she?

Though in fairness, it was an open goal . . .

RoyalCorgi · 07/03/2024 11:10

That reply from JKR is golden, fromorbit.

Coming back to Datun's comment - "I wonder if JKR has allowed herself to be ostensibly goaded by somebody like Willoughby, quite deliberately" - I'm absolutely certain of it.

She ignored Willoughby for ages and ages until she'd accumulated enough evidence of Willoughby's bullying, harassment and misogyny. And then, with perfect timing, she bit back. She has chosen her moment beautifully: she knows now that whatever Willoughby accuses her of, she has enough evidence to sink Willoughby in court several times over.

Imagine an amateur chess player who hasn't realised they're competing against a grandmaster who can anticipate every move they're going to make. That's Willoughby vs JKR.

Tooth fairy? Coin thieving, molar snatching little jumped up tart.

What ya gonna do eh? eh? Shall I await my visit from the po po?

They'll come for you when you least expect it.

‘He might walk round worms on the pavement so he doesn't squash them’

Are there people who Don’t walk around worms on the pavement so as not to squash them? Savages.

I pick them up and carry them to a place of safety.

If the tooth fairy can sneak in at night and conduct a money-tooth exchange without detection, I think Hooty is incredibly brave to goad her like that. Sleep well, Hooty, sleep well…

It's too painful. It's like watching your local primary's under-7s football side take on Manchester United's first team.

NotBadConsidering · 07/03/2024 11:20

I’ve listened to the video. It’s clearly “him” and not “them”. Why would he say “them” about India when he said “her” about India earlier? Such a doofus.

Datun · 07/03/2024 11:21

I thought that interviewer called Willoughby them? It looks like 'them' to me. When does he say him?

NotBadConsidering · 07/03/2024 11:21

The subtitles say “them” but if you listen he says “him”.

Datun · 07/03/2024 11:22

Oh my God, I just had to edit that post three times. And I'm perfectly used to not saying he and him!

His mouth does not form a 'th' position at all. He said him.

I did listen, and I looked at his mouth.

I'll have another look

So do I.

Draw the line at earwigs, though.

Helleofabore · 07/03/2024 11:23

Look for the 'th' position. He doesn't make it at all.

I think there was once 'him' from a slight side angle too and no 'th'.

I reckon my granddaughter's Year 4 football team could easily beat the current Man UTD first team. 😉

Agree.

As a retired SaLT I can confirm this.

pronounsbundlebundle · 07/03/2024 11:27

Jesus, it's no wonder the economy is in the shitter. Here we have lots of extremely intelligent women spending time fighting this shit and wondering about pronouns and analysing which pronouns have been used. Which used to be part of language we all used correctly without having to think about it at all.

If we could all just spend our time doing something more productive. But no, here we are trying to stem the tide that is tearing away women's rights and child safeguarding. And we can't not do it, because the harms are immense - the victims of Blake, the victims of Dolatowski, the victims of Bryson, the victims of White, the victims of Miller. We need to try and reduce the harms.

ah....

And my child had so much trouble with that 'th' sound that I learned all about it from their speech therapist. Speech therapists are awesome.

It takes effort to form a 'th'.

Well it's certainly not 'her'.

And as India doesn't identify as non-binary, then it's misgendering either way.

pronounsbundlebundle · 07/03/2024 11:30

Remember all the court cases where the fully signed up, drunk the kool aid, total believers in gender ideology couldn't keep their pronouns straight? Denise Fahmy's trial, Rachel Meade's, Jo Phoenix's?

And yet, quite remarkably, these professionals who believe in punitive measures for women misgendering got away with it without any fuss at all. No sanction from the court, or their employer. Hmm, it's such a conundrum. A bit as if pronouns are just the flimsiest of 'reasons' to punish women for saying no.

Helleofabore · 07/03/2024 11:30

Datun · 07/03/2024 11:28

No. 'sh' is another distinct mouth position.
