How the metro can put out this tweet which effectively suggests a woman shouldn't be allowed to speak is beyond me. Shocked but not surprised. Comments are heartening though, as is the ratio.

MN is affecting my YouTube algorithm because I just got this randomly suggested to me:

’India Willoughby Sucked the Oxygen Out of the Room’

(that Matthew Wright’s old Wright Stuff videos now appear on a youtube channel named ‘Jeremy Vine on 5’ is poetically Orwellian - do you think channel 5 knew that changing the YT account name would have this affect? IIRC MW lost his long-established morning show because he wasn’t willing to restrict his guests free speech on the trans topic…)

Big Brother's Rachel Johnson: India Willoughby “sucked the oxygen out of the house"

Big Brother's Rachel Johnson has hit back at India Willoughby, who she accuses of “sucking the oxygen out of the house" and being "the architect of her own d...

If it's true that IW had surgery that effectively removed IW's penis and replaced it with a cavity of some description, then it's possible IW now regrets that and has dedicated IW's life to getting everyone else to reassure IW, one way or another, that it was worth it. It would definitely explain the indiscriminate rage.

It seems to me that JKR is calling Willoughby’s bluff here. “My lawyers advised me” = I have the best legal advice money can buy so put up or shut up.

if I was a friend of Willoughby I would be advising to find my own legal advice (a proper solicitor, not ‘my mate from down the pub’) for a hard dose of reality. It’s really not going to end up well given Willoughby has left a helpful trail of posts on social media.

I don't think there is a bluff. I think JKR is quite willing to go through with it and has been expecting it.

I would argue she's being fair, kind and reasonable to IW that if you want to play nasty it will backfire cos youve created this situation and have n o one else to blame for it.

Whether IW will listen to it, or decide to lap up all the attention whether good or bad remains to be seen...

I'm starting to think that Willoughby doesn't actually believe anything Willoughby says and doesn't care what the outcome is as long as it results in lots of attention for Willoughby. Plenty of people won't have heard of Willoughby before this. It doesn't matter what happens because in what passes for Willoughby's mind, it will all be attention and proof that Willoughby is a hero, a martyr or both.

All attention is attention. I see this as a typical trans activist signature move. People like Willoughby don't care if it damages the "movement" either, because it's about them and their personal interests, not collective progress.

Indeed.

And when you've got no money, no one will employ you, and being trans is your entire USP, I'm guessing being the Katie Hopkins of the TRAs your only option.

The full Byline TV video is proving to be a peach.

IW JK Rowling has been radicalised … she needs an intervention.

Interviewer So do you think that any of women’s concerns have been valid in the last 10 years about the trans debate, any of them?

IW I can’t think of any, no.

And towards the end a nice little reference to Nazi collaborators in the form
of ‘Vichy Gays’.

Hang on.... Wasn't Willoughby saying years ago that male people should not be in female sports?

If I am remembering correctly, then this seems dishonest. I shall go and look.

Now Willoughby is the official representative of trans UK a lot of pink/blue washing is needed. Luckily PNews is here with a big can of paint. This article is doing its best.

Pretty hilarious. Like trying to dress up the Big Brother appearance as anything, but a trainwreck. This wasn't because the UK public hate alt gender types - remember Nadia Almada won Big Brother in 2004. It was because Willoughby is an awful person who was sexist and hated other contestants.

Also avoiding discussing how Willoughby, a Trump/Farage supporter, agreed with the social conservative take on GB News on everything except trans issues.

Of course the long catalogue of racism, sexism doesn't get mentioned.

Everything you need to know about trailblazing trans broadcaster India Willoughby

There's more to trans broadcaster India Willoughby than her recent clash with J.K. Rowling: she's been fighting for trans rights for years.

ISTR Willoughby has indeed flip flopped on a number of issues around "trans inclusion". Was very much critical of the wrong sort of trans people at one time, as still is towards the likes of Hayton.

IW is like a caricature, a cartoon character, an actor playing a role. They’ve spent months/years goading and spitting hyperbolic venom at JKR and hating on everyone who doesn’t pander to their every delusion and whim.

They've made themself infamous to fuel their ego. Had anyone heard of this newsreader before they adopted the twisted persona of India?

IW may believe they’re a woman but literally every word and action screams privileged narcissistic male entitlement. Their passport might say F but everything about their whole being is M personified.

I 💜JKR

Edited

Willoughby is a famous journalist in ITV you know. Tsk

Pre-transition Willoughby isn't bad looking.

SabrinaThwaite · 07/03/2024 10:55

JKR has also pointed out that the Bylines TV guy definitely called IW “he” on the video trailer.

Interviewer denies it.

But we can all see and hear it Caolan.

You couldn’t make this stuff up 🤣

Nadia Almeda had a car crash in their Second Big Brother exploit.

Why?

Not because of identity but because of obnoxious behaviour.

Even the first BBC there were accusations of very obnoxious behaviour which was sanitised by favourable editing.

But it does illustrate the point that the British Public are open minded and liberal minded. But they still see obnoxious behaviour...

There was also a trans man who won Big brother whose name escapes me. However I think in born theirs and Nadia’s cases, they didn’t make being trans and demanding acceptance part of their MO.

IW only gives a shit about IW. Being a TW is their entire existence- they literally offer nothing else of value.

Good point indeed.

However I think we can all be glad that WIndy is now the official rep for being trans in the UK now. Not likely they are going to be winning people over.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 07/03/2024 11:05

I didn't like Nadia and didn't really watch that series because of the many and varied wankers on it, although Nadia wasn't the worst of them.

NonPlayerCharacter · 07/03/2024 11:09

Not to sound like IW pre-emptively blaming JKR for if IW ever gets murdered, but I truly, literally, in real life, choked on my tea because I laughed so hard and suddenly when I saw this and I'm sorry JKR, that really was your fault.

Byline TV is "totally independent and subscriber-funded". I bet it is.

Also, did you ever see a journalist who felt the need to tell you they were a journalist before giving their report? Why does he think it wouldn't be self-evident?

Give JKR thanks for giving you more publicity than you'll ever get for anything else, Byline.

I'm old enough to remember having friendly chats with IW on twitter. On one occasion 'they' were criticising Owen Jones for making the trans debate toxic and telling him to shut up as he was harming trans people. The only person who got 'radicalised' was IW.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 07/03/2024 11:17

I think we also have the issue her of if it does go to court about whether we already have self id.

The EA states that if someone is going through transition (with a view to getting a GRC) having protected status. But I question how this applies to someone who has sworn blind they are a woman for years and has no intention of getting a GRC because they have all the paperwork they want. Are they still going through the process of transition or are they not arsed because they think they have all the rights they need (as an entitled man)? At which point, a GRC is meaningless and there's every reason to just bin the legislation as it's pointless beaucracry in every sense. I wonder how people who think (wrongly) that the system of getting a GRC is rigorous and includes safeguarding checks will mentally process it.

Hayden got a GRC some years back and took to Twitter to say how easy it was if you were organised and had all your paperwork sorted out. I always think of that when TRAs talk about how humiliating and invasive the procedure of getting a GRC is. Those who've never looked into what they're talking about seem often to assume the applicant has to appear before the panel in person and be grilled, but in fact it's all done with forms. The applicant sends in assorted forms, reports, bills etc with a fee far lower than it takes to get a passport (or no fee at all if they're on benefits, I think), someone in a government office checks it's all there and in order, and in due course the panel meet to rubber stamp the application.

There is a requirement for a diagnosis of gender dysphoria. This was supposed to weed out the people wanting to change gender for nefarious purposes. Hmm There are, however, plenty of medical and allied professionals ready and willing to provide the reports required. No requirement whatsoever for the applicant to have had any medical treatment or to be planning to have any. This is not at all widely understood, as far as I can see.

fromorbit · 07/03/2024 11:17

They keep digging. JKR just needs to point it out.
