How the metro can put out this tweet which effectively suggests a woman shouldn't be allowed to speak is beyond me. Shocked but not surprised. Comments are heartening though, as is the ratio.

Well this IS interesting.

What will the police do?

Will they deem correctly sexing a man a hate crime or won't they?

If they don't then there won't be a court case, unless IW takes civil action and that will rather upset some people who believe that it should be.

If they do then JKR gets to show this for what it really is in court as she can demonstrate that IW has said some awful untrue things on the basis of other people's protected characteristic. Will IW also be arrested? Or is it just telling the truth about misogynistic men that's unlwaful?

All when she knows that a political party that has hinted that mis-sexing WILL be deemed a hate crime is at the cusp of political power.

As I said upthread, the timing of 'taking the bait' is very very deliberate.

JKR you have an army of women behind you. You know you are fighting for all women.

Mollyollydolly · 07/03/2024 00:04

She knew exactly what she was doing. And in the middle of it all tonight she posted about WPATH thus gaining exposure for the story so many in the media are ignoring. I said on the other thread, I do think she's an actual witch! She's made me quite tearful tonight, she's so clever and BRAVE.

Some time ago, lawyers advised me that not only did I have a clearly winnable case against India Willoughby for defamation, but that India's obsessive targeting of me over the past few years may meet the legal threshold for harassment.

I ignored this advice because I couldn't be bothered giving India the publicity he so clearly craves. Nevertheless, we must all do our bit to combat hate, so India will be glad to know I've taken note of his homophobia, racism, and humane stance on immigration.

Nor have I forgotten India's shocking transphobia. It appears to have slipped what passes for India's mind that he's previously called a fellow trans woman a man on this very site.

Surprisingly for such an eminent legal authority, he appears to have forgotten that the Forstater ruling established that gender critical views can be protected in law as a philosophical belief. No law compels anyone to pretend to believe that India is a woman.

Aware as I am that it's an offence to lie to law enforcement, I'll simply have to explain to the police that, in my view, India is a classic example of the male narcissist who lives in a state of perpetual rage that he can't compel women to take him at his own valuation.

Wow, JKR is on fire this evening. Love to see it! 👏

Genuinely scary how many people misundrrstand the hate crime aggravator and think that saying a man is a man is a hate crime.

However, if IW tried to attach the ‘hate crime’ to another crime such as malicious comms that could be the test, wouldn’t it? This is certainly going to make sure we all get to see all the legal discussions around this.

Either way, Joanne Rowling has also just tested the veracity of Twitter’s new supposed policy and whether it really was ‘just for Brazil’ and got wrongly applied world wide or whatever the move was. It would be hugely interesting to see what has happened behind the scenes there too.

It would be a great test for Willoughby to be charged with harassment. It might clean up some people’s Twitter interactions.

Either way, JK has certainly tested the whole ‘he is a man’ waters for everyone on many layers. And played a blinder.

Shocker

Sick

How on earth did that get to work with children!

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2024 07:56

lifeturnsonadime · 06/03/2024 23:23

Told you so!

Told you she was prepared and ready and willing to be taken legal and she wouldn't initiate it.

AliceA2021 · 07/03/2024 07:59

A woman standing up for women. Lots of women behind her.

A growing number see these men larping as women and telling us what to do and say.

The simpering handmaidens to men giving away what a woman is and sold out are part of the problem.

No more of this bullshit.

I think if IW is stupid enough to go down the Malicious Comms route I'll fall over laughing.

Has IW actually done this or has IW just said 'I am reporting' is yet another blow of hot air?

Probably not of the last verse of 'The Louse'.

deebyhi · 07/03/2024 08:00

The police would dare touch jk would they?! If they do... I'm taking to the streets in protest.

My husband recently wrote to jk to say what an inspiration she was and thanked her for her work on women's rights.

Although she doesn't reply personally, we did get a response back thanking us for the letter. I hope she does see the support she has.

RedToothBrush · 07/03/2024 08:09

I think we also have the issue her of if it does go to court about whether we already have self id.

The EA states that if someone is going through transition (with a view to getting a GRC) having protected status. But I question how this applies to someone who has sworn blind they are a woman for years and has no intention of getting a GRC because they have all the paperwork they want. Are they still going through the process of transition or are they not arsed because they think they have all the rights they need (as an entitled man)? At which point, a GRC is meaningless and there's every reason to just bin the legislation as it's pointless beaucracry in every sense. I wonder how people who think (wrongly) that the system of getting a GRC is rigorous and includes safeguarding checks will mentally process it.

The question for the police and CPS is 'is it in the public interest'?

Lots here to ponder.

ESPECIALLY since JKR defence ultimately has a possible 'in the public interest' point of order.

Oh my the police if wokified will not like this dilemma.
