Is the XX only pond nicer, is the mixed sex space colder, is the XY space smaller?

I am XX I identify as an adult human being, XX doesn't define me as a person which is what the current system does. I don't want to be excluded from any space because of my chromosomes. Why did I wait in a 15 minute line to use the bathroom last night just because I display features defined by some people as female, where as my husband who is XY and exhibits features defined as male by society waited 30 seconds? I would have been happy to use the space define as XY but bouncers stopped mixing to satisfy some woman (trust me plenty of use were saying we would use the XY space).

Religion has an ever shrinking space, in society it is a choice to practice it, but we can't restrict other people to have space for those who choose it.

Oh I always use the men's bogs if there's a queue for the ladies. No one has ever stopped me.

What do you mean by genuine? Literally everything I have said on these boards is true. I have not told a single lie.

I'm sure you may well believe everything you have said is true - but that doesn't make it so. The evidential world exists outside of your personal beliefs and preferences.

I literally just got my karyotype test results this week and can confirm without doubt two x chromosomes. I have a picture and everything. Wasn't a big surprise, as I was pregnant last year.

That's nice dear.

That despite this you support a misogynistic men's rights movement makes me wonder what has happened in your life that's made you believe that men should have every wish granted?

Not just men. I think everyone should be able to live their lives exactly how they want. I always have.

I don't think this thread is troubled by that many lurkers. And I'm not part of the trans lobby, whatever that may be. I have never been involved in any activism on this issue ever, other than attending general LGBT and queer events. I've stated that over and over. Not sure why you all insist on promoting me to the status or activist or lobbyist. I haven't earned it.

If you are using terms like 'cis' then that suggests you very much are someone who has adopted the idea of 'gender identity and ideology' as a reality. But you need to be aware that most people don't. What you believe is what you believe - but that belief cannot be imposed on those that don't hold to it.

That's great, but you don't really do you.

You don't think religious minority women or sexual assault survivors should live their lives away from all males.

At least own that you don't think women who want single sex spaces should live our lives as we want, free from the male gaze in single sex spaces.

Apart from: "I don't believe in private healthcare"
then
"I'm going to use private healthcare to obtain donor eggs"
then
"I use private healthcare for lots of things"

Apart from: "I've lost track of how many times I've been told on this board that I need to seek help for not being more traumatised"
which literally NO ONE said or suggested. What a hugely offensive lie. Many women on here expressed empathy for you for your baby loss and for your rapes. It is just easier for you to lie and make out "us lot" are against you. It fits your strange narrative.

Well they can't! That is just idealistic, individualistic nonsense. All societies have certain codes, cultures and rules of engagement which go beyond individual desire.

Quite. If those with xy chromosomes are restricted due to their biology, so are those with xx chromosomes. Which is why GC 'feminism' isn't feminism.

Religious beliefs can be respected without the whole of society being organised around them.

Our bodies are a fact of life, and to that extent they are our fate. We are not all equal or the same. The role of civil society is to ameliorate differences as much as possible - but take account of those differences and provide some protecion for them when necessary.

SerotinaPickeler · 25/02/2024 12:36

What happened to Adrian? Is they and PP82 the same person? Or are they tag-teaming? Are there more of them? I probably shouldn't ask in case they get their second (third? fourth?) wind, but I'm waiting for the creocote on the fence to dry so am a bit bored.

I want to kill my MiL she does my head in. Should I be able to shoot her because that how I want to live my life or do we agree that that everyone doing what they want creates conflicts and anarchy? Because I'm pretty sure MiL wants to not be murdered.

Guys wearing dresses and lippy calling themselves Arabella in a cafe -fine no impact on anyone else. Guys in lippy calling themselves Arabella stepping into a boxing ring for a women's bout - not fine because it has a massive negative impact on someone else.

If you are such a fan of the social contract surely you are aware that this is actually what it does, limits our freedoms to protect others.

  • I don't, she's great it's an example.

I have my own ideas and understanding of what gender identity means. It's a complex issue. But you don't like complex issues, do you? You like everything very, very simple.

I love complex issues. One of the skills of an effective communicator is to be able to explain complex issues in a way that non-experts can understand. Some of my former teachers were great at doing this.

So come on. Explain your ideas and understanding of gender identity in a way your former students would understand. After all, they are your ideas and understanding. If you can't express them succintly, who can?

AlwaysGinPlease · 25/02/2024 12:43

You can't compel me to call myself simply a woman without my consent. Compelled speech!

Oh the irony 🤣🤣🤣

Biological facts and differences are not a religious belief.

'Equality' is a mental construct/a utopian idea. For many feminism is about centring women and their experieneces and not treating those unique female experiences as less worthy or important. It is not about suppressing or denying all sex based difference and expecting women to merge along a male/'patriarchal' if you prefer, model of humanity.

Peskysquirrel · 25/02/2024 12:45

@AlwaysGinPlease I think it was meant to be a "joke"...
To reflect how "us lot" are always shouting about compelled speech, apparently. I mean I just can't stop myself.

sleepyscientist · 25/02/2024 12:45

@PP82 I used to aswell but it seems to be getting stopped more and more now unfortunately.

@Girlontherailreplacementbusservice maybe sport should be weight/measurement based instead of XX vs XY? It would be fairer on everyone to get an equal match. You could also say a team has to field X numbers in each category. Considering the disparity of money in the XY game it would be more equal not less.

Peskysquirrel · 25/02/2024 12:49

No. There are many differences between female and male sports players in addition to weight and measurements. Lung capacity, stride and pelvic arrangement being just three that immediately spring to mind.

A man and a woman who are the same weight will not be equal in terms of strength. There are many other factors involved, too, including hip mobility, not to mention hormonal cycles etc

ArabellaScott · 25/02/2024 12:51

Women are not just 'smaller men'. Almost every aspect of our bodies is impacted by our sex; we are evolved on a completely different pathway, for obvious evolutionary reasons.

Erm nope because male v female bodies of the same height weight have huge differences in strength due to bone structure, musculature, grip strength and many other factors. Women's necks are weaker than men's so they are in great danger of sustaining concussion.

In many sports it's not height/size that gives men an advantage over women it is the mechanical differences between the body types.
Funnily enough you don't see trans women lining up to take part in the women's gymnastics disciplines because their male bodies would actually disadvantage them.

“There’s no such thing as society. There are individual men and woman…” Sound familiar? Would be nice if people who say things like this would take ownership of what their approach is really all about.
