I think I saw them supporting Discharge, in 1989...

😁

Umm. I'm not an expert. I've said time and time again that I'm not, and never been a TRA, whatever you think that is. Don't have to be to know right from wrong and counter your vile slurs.

So knowing right is to increase the risk to women and girls?

Wow.

Sport is boring. I don't care about sport.

What, and the women who can, whose education and income depends on it, can get tae fuck, can they?

Good God, the arrogance!

Froodwithatowel · 25/02/2024 11:11

It's all one long scream of 'Pretend!'

And it's absolutely reliant on the co operation of everyone else.

No. Not pretending. My choice. End of.

PP82 · 25/02/2024 11:13

A relative of mine was seriously physically assaulted in hospital by a cis male staff member. Should we just ban all men from hospital wards?

If not why do the isolated actions of a few trans women mean all should be tarred with the same brush?

I agree that we shouldn't be telling women off for what pronouns they use about their rapist. But why does the gender identity matter? Why is insisting that all rapist are he/him so important to you all?

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 25/02/2024 11:15

Because only men can rape. Why should the actions of men be recorded as the crimes of women?

Bouledeneige · 25/02/2024 11:16

Their gender identity matters because it's men who rape women and 97 percent of sexual and physical violence is committed by men.

Dontcallmescarface · 25/02/2024 11:19

@PP82 I've asked twice now for you to clarify what "women living as women" means. The fact that you haven't answered it leaves me to think that you either don't know (so why say it), or you do know but it would mean that you'll have to admit that everything you have posted is just bollox. Which is it?

Depends on your definition of a man and your definition of rape.

Yes, absolutely thousands of women have been assaulted on women's wards. Letting more men in is not the answer.

PP82 is more than one person. The circling logic, constant repetition even when an argument has been totally debunked, the going round in circles even when at points it seems like a point has been taken on, realities acknowledged and then a few posts later back to the most idiotic of mantras, its all easy to understand when you consider this fact.

Ohnohedident · 25/02/2024 11:25

no one person is this idiotic, it takes groups for that

It's that it would be quite a long and complicated answer to type out in order to do the subject justice, and I haven't had time. Also I'm hardly an expert, I'm a cis woman with no academic background in this, so wouldn't be able to explain it as well as others. But I'll try to explain my understanding of it, if and when I have time to do it properly.

What's your definition of a man?

Girlontherailreplacementbusservice · 25/02/2024 11:27

Well we could just stop attaching agreed meaning to words and render communication totally impossible but until we decide that any word can have any meaning in UK law rape requires a penis and man means adult human male so they are the penis havers.
I could call my dog my stick insect but it might hinder the vet in reaching a diagnosis.
If words don't have means that people agree on there is no point in having words.

I definitely do believe in Freedom for Tooting. Tooting holds a special place in my heart, and Robert Lindsay could wander in to my changing room any time he liked! (Early crush.) I am typing one handed. The other hand is holding my phone. Think that's how most people type now.

Did you watch it when it came out or on repeat?

This is so conspiratorial. Who are all these different people I'm supposed to be? I'm one cis woman who has nothing to do with any trans related activism, or indeed any activitism at all since I moved to the sticks. Why would multiple people be using my account? For what reason? If I (or one of me lol) was a proper activist, I'd be doing a better job than this I think. The fact that you think I'm inconsistent in my arguments doesn't mean I'm more than one person. Bizarre paranoid thinking.

nothingcomestonothing · 25/02/2024 11:33

I'm betting that PPs contributions to this thread have been very enlightening to any lurkers who didn't really understand what the issues with the swimming ponds is, or why women can't just #bekind, or assumed that there was some up to date scientific basis for the demands of the trans lobby.

So thanks for that.

PP82 · 25/02/2024 11:35

Dontcallmescarface · 25/02/2024 11:29

So the answer is you don't know.

I have my own ideas and understanding of what gender identity means. It's a complex issue. But you don't like complex issues, do you? You like everything very, very simple.

Came out in the 70s right? I guess on repeat. Used to watch it with my parents as a kid in the 80s. Not sure of the relevance of that.
