Does anyone have a really good lemon drizzle cake recipe?

I don't cook. My husband does all the cooking and cleaning. We are a feminist household.

I think fruit cake might be more apt.

Bit ableist no?

This, a million times over.

Hard to take anything else seriously now we know PP82 is lying over something so fundamental! 😜

Most people are cis gender. It's easy to fall into the trap of saying man to mean cis man and woman to mean cis woman. But there are trans men with uteruses and trans women with penises. Me using woman as shorthand for cis woman was my bad, being non inclusive as a product of living in a prejudiced society. Doesn't mean that no men have a uterus, or that all women do.

I am very sorry you have experienced rape and sexual assault.

However, could you please stop with the 'cis woman' nonsense. I am not part of a subset of women who happen to have XX chromosomes. I am a woman. That's it. A woman.

I find it fucking rude to be redefined without my consent.

Datun · 24/02/2024 18:54

PP82 · 24/02/2024 18:25

I'm one person. I'm a CIS gendered woman in my 40s who's been sexually assaulted many occasions but generally would like to see more gender neutral spaces and think trans women should be able to use the facilities that match their gender identity. I hate 'gender critical' ideology and argue against it because I think it's prejudiced and bigoted. I have a uterus, have been pregnant and am about to start IVF. Yet in your mind it's impossible for all that to be true of one person? Bizarre.

Do you understand what gender critical even means? It's not just to do with trans ideology, for fuck sake.
i

it's to do with criticising why women are expected to do certain things under patriarchal control.

When women were denied the vote, it was because they were 'too stupid' and wouldn't understand. Indeed, it was considered that they were giving their husbands TWO votes.

All these women, who absolutely bloody nailed politics, totally understood it, consigned to the fucking fluffy dustbin.

When they were denied higher education, it was because, guess what, they were too stupid to understand.

When they were denied the ability to take out a mortgage, it was because they didn't understand money.

When women, in the bloody 1980s could be denied service in a pub, purely and legally, on the basis that they were women, it was because they were not responsible under the influence of alcohol.

When the law said a man could legally rape his wife, it was because women were expected to provide sex to men on demand, no matter what. That law did not change until 1991..

Rape was legal within marriage until 1991.

THAT is gender. Society's expectations not OF women, but imposed upon women.

When women say gender critical, that is what they mean. Criticising the gender stereotypes are imposed on women. And men, to be fair, although to a lesser extent.

But It's been bastardised to mean something else. But That's what it means.

So can you imagine the situation where a man says he 'thinks as a woman', so he must be a woman. What is it that he's actually thinking???

It has to be sexist as fuck.

So can you imagine situation where a man says he thinks the way a woman thinks, or he wears what a woman wears, or he behaves how woman behaves, so therefore he MUST be a woman not being a load of sexist tripe, that takes women back hundreds of years?

I sometimes say something heteronormative by accident. Doesn't mean that I think gay people or relationships are somehow not real, or lesser. We sometimes use language that reflects societal prejudices.

Yes. I shouldn't have said that. Like I shouldn't have said the thing about women and uteruses. I'm not perfect. Doesn't mean either thing was right.

Since when was that something that required consent?

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 19:01

aare you saying you can define someone ELSES identity!!!

AlisonDonut · 24/02/2024 19:01

Well, there's a reason for that. It's because alot of things are just, you know, heteronormative.

Take a break from your queer theory bullshit and say what you see. Life is much easier and you don't look like a total plum all the time.

Igneococcus · 24/02/2024 19:01

I've never been cautious around anyone. Why should men's bad behaviour dictate how I live?

That's your prerogative but you don't get to force this kind of thinking on other women and give away their single sex spaces.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 19:02

sorry people I just had a hot flush from the TRANSPHOBIA

You can call trans women men if you want, but if you do it to an individual's face, that's harassment and you should face the consequences. And if you build a movement out of it, you should expect opposition.

I don't have any spaces to give away. I'm just arguing on an internet forum.

Ohnohedident · 24/02/2024 19:05

your were defining the pp identity by calling them cis, against their wishes

surely this is totally unaccaptable to you?

Of course it bloody isn't. My bank regularly calls me by the wrong sex. I cannot sue them, for love nor money.

there are about 25 pages explaining why women want to be able to name and advocate for their sex class

I think coming onto a feminist board and lying about what you think a woman is is probably harrassment. Much more so than calling a man a man.

Why don’t you stop the pretence and actually engage to explain what you really believe.

Why do you think we should lie to humour men who are making the outrageous claim that they are women?

Men are men whether they like it or not. You seem to want us to face consequences for saying that.

Why can it not work both ways? Consequences for people who 'cis' us against our will?
